Los Angeles — Jisoo to Release Original Song for Upcoming ‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’

Jisoo, a member of K-pop group BLACKPINK, is set to contribute an original song to The Angry Birds Movie 3, with the project marking her latest creative involvement outside music performances.

The singer co-wrote a track titled “Sun Showers” for the upcoming animated feature. The song is scheduled to appear in the film as well as its forthcoming trailer. Its cover artwork also highlights “Shumon,” a small dustball character Jisoo originally created during middle school, before beginning her career as a K-pop idol.

Jisoo described seeing her childhood creation become part of the project as a deeply meaningful experience.

“I’m so happy to be part of The Angry Birds Movie 3,” she said in an exclusive statement. “I’ve always loved how the films bring together such colorful characters, humor and heart. With ‘Sun Showers,’ I wanted to capture the movie’s playful and bright energy through a fun, feel-good song that makes people want to smile and dance along.”

She continued, “I really hope everyone will enjoy hearing it when they see the film over the holidays.”

Produced by Paramount Pictures, the animated holiday movie is scheduled to arrive on Dec. 23. Its official synopsis teases a new challenge for its central character: “This holiday season, one angry bird will face his greatest challenge yet, surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!”

The film features an extensive voice cast, including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Rachel Bloom, Walker Scobell, Danny McBride, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter, Psalm West, Sam Richardson and James Austin Johnson. Lily James and Keke Palmer are also joining the cast.

Executive producers on the project include Louis Koo, Toru Nakahara, Ben Mattes, Hanna Valkeapää-Nokkala, Crosby Clyse, Chris Pflug, Simon Hedges, Christopher Milburn, Jamey Heath, Paul Kang, Geneva Wasserman and Cathy Boxall.

John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor and Namit Malhotra are producing the movie, which is directed by John Rice. Thurop Van Orman wrote the screenplay.
