Ever since I got my first cinema camera, I've been using SmallRig camera cages.
So yes, this is going to be a SmallRig hype video.
I've seen SmallRig progress over the years.
Ever since I bought my first cinema camera, and I found the first real true camera cage
that fit perfectly onto my Blackmagic cinema camera.
And ever since then, I've been sold on SmallRig.
It is 10 years later, and I'm still buying their product today.
I've seen them develop and change and re-innovate every single year
towards the cameras that come out every year.
That is why I've also purchased them on things like my Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera.
There was nobody else out there in the camera cage market
that was making any relevant cages to a camera like this.
And then I saw them come along with something like the NATO rail and the NATO handle.
These little quick adjustment handles that you could just slide onto your camera.
Whatever you need.
Monitors, recorders, wireless transmitters.
Anything you could ever need to put onto your camera
and just take it off quickly to move from shoulder rigs to tripods to gimbals to dollies.
Whatever you need.
These quick attachments really came in handy
and really sold me on the innovation of this company.
So I've got a couple of products that I've purchased now from them
and we're going to go through them today.
And I know what you're thinking.
Yeah, this is another camera cage and camera parts video.
And it is.
But this video is special because I truly enjoy this company.
I really love the products that they make.
And I can't wait to see what they keep doing in the future.
Okay.
So what I did purchase is a small rig V-mount adapter.
And the cool thing about this V-mount adapter is it.
Yes, it's just a simple V-mount plate.
Nothing special.
Just simple V-mount plate.
Goes right on my V-mount battery like so.
Comes right off.
No sticking.
No issues.
It's as smooth as can be as it pops in and pops right off.
The other thing that was special about this
is the super clamp.
The super clamp is very special because how industrious it is.
Is it can fit onto anything.
And the reason I mostly purchased this was for my gimbal.
So I could attach a V-mount battery to my gimbal.
And as we all know, these Blackmagic cameras,
they don't have a long battery life.
Even the brand new Blackmagic cameras, the Pocket 6Ks and the 4Ks.
They don't have a very long battery life.
So I need to put a V-mount battery in order to shoot all day with my Blackmagic camera.
And this super clamp clamps right on to my dual hand grip for my FeiyuTech gimbal.
Simple and easy.
What really makes this V-mount adapter special is that I can attach it to most
all of my other parts that I've previously purchased from SmallRig.
Even things I purchased five, six years ago like this cheese plate.
Camera base plate, cheese plate deal.
I can attach this right to there with now any issue.
It's right on there.
And now I can adapt this to anything.
Onto 15 millimeter rods.
Whatever I need to do.
Another great thing is I can attach it just to a rail block.
15 millimeter rail block.
Put it right in there.
Add the screws.
Adjustable any which way.
And now I can slide this onto my camera and I can use it on the 15 millimeter rods.
A shoulder rig.
Anything like that.
The real reason I purchased this was mostly for my gimbal.
But knowing SmallRig is nice to know that you can adapt this to other parts and pieces
that they have made previously.
Like a quick on rail block here too.
I can adapt that right onto this rail block.
Have no issues.
Slide it onto my tripod with my 15 millimeter rods.
And there you go.
But today we're going to put this on the gimbal with the super clamp.
And this super clamp is extremely strong.
And one more thing I want to touch on with this super clamp.
I know I talked about 15 millimeter rods and you can adapt it to that and this.
But here's a 15 millimeter rod right here.
Not going anywhere.
So I can just clamp it onto a 15 millimeter rod.
Take it off.
And then go right onto the gimbal.
Quick and easy.
As always with SmallRig they send you some extra bolts here.
And they send you some allen keys.
So we're going to have to tap the super clamp to the v-mount adapter.
Only one way it can go.
Tighten down the screws.
So quick and easy.
Now we got everything put together.
Nice and solid.
Go right to our gimbal here.
Doesn't matter which way.
Nice and tight.
Slide this piece of a v-mount battery on there.
There we go.
Nice.
Locked in place.
Not going anywhere.
Not spinning around on the gimbal rail.
It's not flipping upside down.
It has no movement to it whatsoever.
I can shake this boy around all day.
Whatever I need to do.
And the v-mount's not going anywhere.
Truly trusted products from SmallRig.
There are very few companies out there that I would trust with my equipment.
My battery.
Not falling off.
Breaking my camera.
Breaking my foot.
Hitting me in the head.
Then SmallRig.
And let's find another setup for it.
How about this over here?
This can run off the v-mount battery also.
With the right power adapters.
You can plug something so small like this up to a v-mount battery.
And that will last you two days.
Possibly.
Well, how are we going to attach a v-mount battery to something so tiny?
Well, with a lot of these SmallRig pieces.
Let me get rid of a...
Actually, this is something I bought years and years ago.
Were these little rails that I can make my rails longer very quickly.
You just screw on to there and all of a sudden I got some longer rails here.
And get my little handy tools.
I know I can just clamp this on just like this.
Yeah, sure.
I can do that.
Or if I want it to be a little bit more balanced on one rail.
This is what we can do.
Quick and simple.
Just get rid of the super clamp.
I have a SmallRig kit right over here that I also purchased.
This SmallRig kit has a selection of all kinds of bolts that you will need for all the pages.
Good thing to purchase just to have handy to do whatever you need to do.
Another great thing about SmallRig.
So I'm going to take these other cap bolts here.
And these should work perfectly.
With our two little handy bolts out of our SmallRig kit over here.
And screw this right into our V-Mount adapter.
Nice and snug.
Now I can take this out all day shooting with a V-Mount battery.
This will work on almost anything.
Your D-Cam.
Your Sony FX-30.
Anything like that.
As long as you've got the right adapter to plug into a D-Tap V-Mount battery.
You can attach this to almost any camera.
And then away you can go.
