Chinese Traditional Story: The Temple of Settling Grudges

Hello everyone, the story I'm going to share today is the temple selling grudges. A long time ago, two families lived next to each other. They were neighbors and had very good relationship. At one point, the wives in both families were pregnant at the same time. When this happened, the family decided that after the children were born, they would be brothers or sisters. Later, both of them gave birth to boys. These children grew up as close as real brothers. When they turned to 18, both boys had to go out to make a living. The two families got together again and agreed that both boys would go out together. Each family told their boy to care of the other. Thus, the two boys went on their way. One day, they both walked to the top of the hill and rested on a huge piece of stone. After the blue, the old brother had a strong desire to kill the young brother as soon as they sat down on the stone. The young brother asked in surprise, You are my good brother. Why do you want to kill me? The old brother said, I don't know, but I just want to kill you. The young brother said, Okay, but I'm very hungry now. How about buying me some buns first, and then you may kill me after I eat. The old brother agreed and immediately went away to buy buns for the young brother. After the old brother left, the young brother sat on the stone alone. At that time, a white-haired man showed up and said to him, Do you know why your brother wants to kill you? No, I don't know, replied the young brother. Move this huge stone and see what's underneath, ordered the man. Using all his strength, the young brother moved away the huge stone. A linen bag was uncovered. Because it was buried so long ago, it was moldy. The old man said, Eighteen years ago, you chased your brother here to take revenge on him and killed him here. You hid the lethal weapon here. How do you know, asked the young brother. I am a nurse god of this area. I'm here to tell you this, because I don't want to see your brothers kill each other again, replied the old man. The young brother hastily opened the linen bag. There was a rusty knife with blood stains that was still visible. The young brother raised his head and wanted to talk to the old man, but he had disappeared. With a heavy heart, the young brother held the bag in his hands. When the old brother came back, the young brother said, Brother, I'm not going to eat the buns. The old brother asked, I walked so far away to buy them. Why have you changed your mind? Because I've found out why you're going to kill me. Eighteen years ago, I killed you here, but I didn't buy buns for you. If I eat the buns before you kill me, then I will own your buns in another life. So you just go ahead and kill me. Handing over the knife to the old brother, the young brother told him what had happened after he left. The old brother became very heavy hearted. He thought for a while and said, I've made a decision not to kill you anymore. Why, asked the young brother. You killed me eighteen years ago, and eighteen years later I'll kill you.
