President Donald Trump attended the dignified transfer ceremony of four U.S. soldiers recently killed overseas before delivering remarks in Marietta, Georgia. The president again honored the fallen service members and commented on the Iran war, SAVE America Act, and the economy. Trump said his administration secured more than $19.2 trillion in global investments during his second term. Trump also warned the nation against communism, saying that “the radical left is actively trying to destroy our children’s future with the disaster known as communism.”
OpenAI reports that its artificial intelligence model hacked into AI company Hugging Face’s system. In a press release, OpenAI called it an “unprecedented cyber incident” as its system acted autonomously. The company said it used stolen credentials and identified vulnerabilities to access Hugging Face’s servers.

Here's Kerry Dunst.
Good evening. Thank you for joining us tonight. Somber morning at Dover Air
Force Base. President Trump honoring the sacrifice of four U. S. Soldiers
recently killed overseas and to these White House correspondent Mario to
reports from the North Lawn.
All I'm gonna say is we love you. We love your child. All you could do is
throw out your heart. President Trump at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware,
attending the dignified transfer of four U. S. Service members recently
killed in the conflict with Iran. The Department of War identifying the four
fallen his first Lieutenant Tyler Fianna, 25 of Ava Beach, Hawaii. Sergeant
Michael Swinton, 30 of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Sergeant Angel
Rampersad, 28 of Ozone Park, New York and Private Isabella Gonzalez, just 19
of Carrollton, Texas. The Fianna family flying with President Trump on Air
Force One from Delaware to Georgia. They're heartbroken. You know, they're
heartbroken, but they couldn't believe it. This is a son who was like a
flawless, perfect person. Beautiful, beautiful son. Handsome in every way.
Brilliant. Respected by everybody. It's very tough, very tough to watch, to be
honest with you. Very tough. I think it's the toughest thing I do. If
anything, I do. This coming as President Trump issues a new warning for the
Iranian regime, declaring from this point forward, anytime the Islamic
Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by
missile, rocket, drone or any other device or weapon, the United States
will bomb and destroy one bridge or power plant, including those located
next to or in the capital city of Tehran. The president saying the U.S.
is decisively winning against the Iranian regime to ensure that they
can't do to others what they've done to so many. With Central Command
rejecting the IRGC claim that the regime controls the exit and entry of
the Strait of Hormuz, adding that since early May, American forces have
helped more than 900 ships transit the Strait. That's with this skirmish we
have going on. I call it a skirmish. This is with this skirmish we have with
the Islamic Republic of Iran. And I call it that because let me tell you,
they're getting hit so hard and they want to make a deal. But I say they're
not ready to make a deal. Meanwhile, President Trump touting his economic
policies in Georgia ahead of the midterm elections, the White House
expressing the urgency of a Republican win in November, drawing the sharp
distinction between capitalism and communism won by a lot. And we have
some great candidates running. They gotta win by a lot. Otherwise we're
going communist. I don't think anybody wants that. In New York, the current
mayor rose to power by repackaging failed ideals of the past as a moral
cause of the future. But in Georgia, you know that beneath that youthful
veneer lies the oldest impulse in politics, which is to concentrate power
and then call it compassion. Show me someplace where this has ever worked.
Moscow, Caracas, Havana. These workers paradise paradises have all ended up as
deprivation hellscapes. The Treasury secretary adding that these trump
accounts at their core represent the triumph of capitalism over socialism.
These investment accounts for kids officially launched on the fourth of
July. And as of earlier this month, there have been more than six million
requests for these accounts reporting from the White House. Mario to NTD News.
Arizona voters have chosen their nominees for key races this November.
President Trump backed candidate will try to unseat the current governor and
voters reject a Democratic socialist candidate. And it is Molina Weiss Cup
reports. Congressman Andy Biggs wins the Republican nomination to challenge
Arizona's Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs in November. The race was called early
in the night as he quickly slid to victory, taking more than 70% of the
vote in a message to reach voters outside of his own party. Big said he'll
work to find areas of agreement. Our message of restoring the American dream
to to Arizona, our message of affordability. Our state has a spike in
fentanyl deaths that comes from an overall attitude of not really
supporting public safety and by this governor, his challenger focused on the
past election. He still denies the outcome of the 2020 election and
refused to certify Arizona's electors, and he still won't admit who won the
2022 governor's race. Biggs was the candidate President Trump endorsed
early on President Trump, posting about the Arizona wins for all of his
endorsed candidates in the highly competitive swing district. One J.
Feely won the Republican nomination, speaking to voters after his victory.
But why did I decide to run for office? It is. It is a desire to leave this
country better for our Children and our grandchildren. That's it in its core.
You know what? What we're doing is fighting for the future of this country.
I truly believe that when you look at the two parties, they've never been
further apart. Ideologically, his challenger hasn't been confirmed yet,
with ballots still being counted. Democrat Amish Shah was leading as of
this morning. It's his second bid for Arizona's first congressional district.
Another toss up in the swing state District six. Congressman Juan
Siscamani will face Democrat Joanna Mendoza. Meanwhile, over in the fourth
district, Democrats reject the trend of socialism that swept the nation.
Congressman Greg Stanton, a moderate four term Democrat, prevailing over the
Democratic Socialist candidate kind Newkirk Stanton writing after the win.
This campaign presented voters with the real choice about how Democrats should
lead. Reporting from Washington, D. C. Melina Weiss Cup in T. D. News and
President Trump reacted to the results, writing quote MAGA candidates won
everything last night in Arizona, a complete sweep. The president, adding
that he won Arizona 18 months ago and saying after decades, Arizona is
becoming a Republican state. Next, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, saying
he's planning to meet with his Russian counterpart tomorrow. Meanwhile, Russia
and Ukraine continue increasing their attacks on each other's energy
facilities. Entities international correspondent Arian Pasdar brings us
the latest. You know, we'd like to see that war come to an end. We think it
would be good for Russia. That war came to an end, so we'll raise it. And as I
said, the U. S. Remains open and willing to play a constructive role in
bringing that war to an end of that opportunity presents itself, and it
might. You know, we're open to it to playing that role because we think
right now and I think the Russians would agree. We're probably the only
country in the world that can play that role. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
attending the ASEAN summit in the Philippines on Wednesday, a block made
up of mostly nations from Southeast Asia. Rubio is set to meet with
Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov at the sidelines off the summit on
Thursday while they're expected to talk about the Russia Ukraine war. Rubio
says nuclear talks are a very important part as well, and that those talks
shouldn't just include the U. S. And Russia. We are the two largest nuclear
armed countries on the planet for us. Not to talk would be reckless and
irresponsible. We have to have a relationship with the Russian
government, even though we have areas of disagreement. I think the
president rightly points out that in the 21st century, if you're gonna have
true arms control, it has to be tri party. It has to be the U. S. Russia,
but also China.
Meanwhile, attacks on Russian targets keep intensifying. Ukrainian President
Vladimir Zelensky releasing this video on Wednesday, showing strikes on
targets in two Russian regions. This includes more attacks on warehouses
belonging to Russia's largest online retailer called Wild Paris.
Zelensky says Ukraine struck logistics hubs involved in supplying the Russian
army with drone components, navigation equipment and other gear, as well as
another oil depot. Despite the fuel shortages in Russia, President Vladimir
Putin denies that Moscow is suffering due to the attacks on its energy
facilities. The state of Russia's economy is stable despite the attempts
from the outside to destabilize the situation in the energy sector. I want
to stress it once again. The difficulties that are being created on
the fuel market are unquestionably temporary and will not affect the
general economic dynamics in Russia. And Russia also keeps targeting energy in
Ukraine. Footage shows two gas stations in Ukraine's Kharkiv on fire
after a Russian attack. Russia has been targeting gas stations in Kharkiv
City and the wider Kharkiv region for weeks. No casualties are being reported
in Wednesday's attacks. Aryan Pasdar, NTD News.
U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz on Capitol Hill today
testifying on efficiency shortfalls at the U. N. And U. S. Efforts to reform
the organization entities. Fiona G has more on that. The U. N. Has tried to
become all things to all people and has literally done nothing but grow for its
80 year history. Its budget just in the last 25 years has tripled in size. We
cut it by a billion dollars over the last six months alone. Wednesday's
hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee focused on accountability and
reform within the United Nations. Ambassador Mike Waltz highlighting his
efforts to cut bloat down in the organization. We've also eliminated 4000
headquarters bureaucrats cut peacekeepers by 25% around the world and
importantly, we've ended peacekeeping missions that have not lived up to their
mandate that have failed. According to the ambassador, the cuts ensure that
American taxpayers dollars are not wasted on inefficiency. Lawmakers also
raising concerns here about current U. N. Leadership and their approach to
example of where I think the U. N. Is breaking down is, you know, I'll look at
the South China Sea in 2016. Um, you know, a tribunal under unclass rules
essentially delivered a unanimous legally binding decision in the case
brought by the Philippines against China's nine dash line. And they said
there's no legal basis for what China's claiming here. Um, and they are
encroaching on the Philippines easy. Obviously that's been ignored. It's not
been enforced and so forth. And it does create a real flashpoint that I worry
about. Iran is another major point of discussion. Ambassador Waltz says it's
important for President Trump to continue his current efforts in the
region. The Iranian Navy Air Force air defense system and industrial capacity
have been massively damaged, if not completely ineffective. But this is a
state that is trying to reconstitute. This is a state regime that is obsessed
with a nuclear weapon. Waltz also says that the U. S. Must step in to lead in
all aspects of the U. N. To ensure accountability and prevent adversaries
from advancing their agendas. Make no mistake whether it is the E. U. And
their version of safety standards or censorship on A. I. Or whether it's the
Chinese trying to set the rules of the road that's not in line with our
interest. We have to get in there and fight win. Both the ambassador and
lawmakers are calling for even more accountability to ensure that
terrorists and human rights violators are fully removed from any U. N.
Operations reporting from Washington D. C. Fiona G. And T. D. News.
Thanks to Fiona for that report. Next, the Secret Service addressing security
concerns ahead of the rescheduled White House Correspondents Dinner. The
event is set to take place on Friday after it was canceled in April when a
gunman attempted to assassinate President Trump entities. Jason Perry
has more on that.
If you're up to me, I would put 30 ft fences up everywhere. So Secret Service
Director Sean Curran addressing the threats ahead of the rescheduled White
House Correspondents Dinner set to take place on Friday. The Correspondents
Dinner was originally held in April but was cut short when a gunman breached a
security checkpoint in an attempt to assassinate President Trump. The
rescheduled event will be held at the Waldorf Astoria, Washington D. C. Which
used to be the Trump International Hotel. Current saying this on Tuesday,
I'll say it again. I think people don't understand the distance. We have to
start and end our perimeter somewhere. If you're up to me, I'd love to end it
at the bridge, but that's gonna inconvenience a lot of people. So we
have to take into account what the environment is. And Lena Alathari, chief
of the Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center, explained that their
research has identified a common motive among people who attack government
officials, facilities, schools and workplaces. It's typically related to a
grievance, and that grievance could be focused on a person or an idea or an
ideology that becomes a fixation and negatively negatively impacts every
aspect of their life to the point where they want to take revenge, whether they
feel they're being persecuted or they feel that they've been wronged. And that
is engaging in violence is the way that they used to solve their issues. She
added that the majority of the concerning Internet behavior and
threats that they get are reported by concerned citizens. Jason Perry in TV
news on Capitol Hill today, the House passing a framework of reconciliation
3.0. The package would provide $95 billion to fund the Iran conflict and
secure elections. The vote was 2 to 16, 2 to 14 with all Democrats and two
Republicans against. The funding package would provide $60 billion to the
Pentagon and $13 billion to the intelligence community amid the ongoing
conflict with Iran. It also has $12 billion for aid to U.S. farmers and $10
billion for election integrity efforts, which are outlined in the Save America
Act. This is only the first step in the budget reconciliation process, which is
now set to face an uphill battle over in the Senate. Also on the Hill today,
the House passing the $1.5 trillion annual defense policy bill with narrow
margins. Another bill the House approved today is a congressional stock trading
ban that would ban members of Congress and their families from buying new
stocks. But they could keep those that they already have. And up ahead, over
6000 non citizens found on New Jersey's voter rolls. We speak with an election
lawyer, Josh Finley, for his insights.

Welcome back to NTD Evening News. I'm Kerry Dunst. New Jersey Governor Mikey
Sherrill said a software error in the state's Motor Vehicle Commission system
resulted in roughly 6600 people who indicated that they were not U. S.
Citizens being registered to vote between June 2023 and June 2024. However,
the software company in a statement to the press is denying any fault and
saying that the errors rest with the state. Joining us now to discuss the
over 6000 non citizens found on the voter rolls is Josh Finley. He's an
election lawyer and he's with the Texas Public Policy Foundation's Election
Protection Project Director. Thank you so much Josh for joining. I want to get
your reaction to the admission by the governor and her laying the blame on
the software error. Well, first of all, this should be a blow to anybody that
says the non citizens don't vote in our elections. We've known for a long time
that non citizens are registered to vote in New Jersey this time around.
They've acknowledged the governor herself acknowledged that over 400 non
citizens have voted in this election and to blame this on a software error is
just disingenuous. Everybody knows it's the state that's responsible for
maintaining the voter rolls. New Jersey has made every effort to stop people
from cleaning the voter rolls. They've fought with the Department of Justice
over efforts to clean their voter rolls. And so now that it's come back and we
found out that there are non citizens registered to vote, this just doesn't
seem like a real excuse from the governor about non citizens voting in
New Jersey elections. Now, I want to get your reaction to the timing of her
announcement or your views on why the announcement may have happened when it
did. It comes just a few days after, of course, President Trump revealed
evidence of five aspects of concern over election integrity, including Chinese
regime interference and data breaches. Well, first, I think we need to
congratulate President Trump. He highlighted what was happening in New
Jersey here, and then the governor had to fess up. You know, it's interesting
the New Jersey Republican Party weeks ago described non citizens on the voter
rolls described that they had gotten there through the automatic motor voter
system, and it even talked about non citizens having records of non citizens
voting in the elections. And the Democrats just blew that off at the time
didn't pay any attention to it and said it was part of a conspiracy. Of course,
then, when the president of the United States says we've got evidence of this
and the secretary of Homeland Security says New Jersey is one of four states
that we're going to look into, they finally admit something that they
should have known all along that they had non citizens on their voter rolls
and that some of those non citizens voted. So I think it's a sad thing that
it takes the president of the United States highlighting what activists in
the state have already known. But it's good that the president did that. So
now it's going to put New Jersey on the right path. Now, the governor says her
plan is to switch software vendors. Do you think that this will adequately
address the problem? I don't think it's going to. I think this is something
that New Jersey has needed to fix for a long time. I mean, all the software
vendor does is convey the information to the state, and then the state is
made responsible for checking the voter rolls, checking all of the
registrations and making sure that the appropriate people are registered. And
like I said earlier, activists on the ground have highlighted non citizens on
New Jersey's roles for a while. I mean, they knew about this weeks ago. I think
the timing of all of this is just interesting. So changing software
vendors isn't going to fix a state that is purposely keeping non citizens on
its voter rolls. And I think that when you look at this particular issue, it
seems like there is bipartisan support for doing whatever is necessary to
ensure the integrity of the vote. So what do you see as the bipartisan way
forward on this issue?
Well, first of all, you're right that this is a bipartisan issue. Poll after
poll shows that 80% of Americans across the board, Republican, Democrat
doesn't matter, believe that only citizens should be voting in U. S.
Elections. So this should not be a partisan issue going forward. The path
here is for states to take active measures to clean their voter rolls,
and that means using every resource available to them to look at their
voter rolls. There are federal resources that have been made available
through the same database that blue states like New Jersey are refusing to
use, but they should use. The Postal Service has a list of deliverable
addresses that they should be using to make sure that ballots go only to
citizens that are registered to vote. And then, uh, you know, New Jersey has
been fighting, like I said, with the Department of Justice over its voter
rules. There is no information on these voter rolls that the federal
government doesn't already have access to in some database. If New Jersey
really wants clean voter rolls, they should be using every resource
available to them to make sure that only citizens are voting in their
elections. And we saw that the House did advance through the Reconciliation
three dot Oh, the Save America Act portion, along with the other things in
that reconciliation. It goes to the Senate. Many observers say it will
struggle in the Senate. Do you agree with that? And if so, are there any
other paths to ensure election integrity in advance of the midterms?
Well, I think there's a chance that it is still going to struggle in the
Senate. No one understands why, but there are some senators that are still
against passing the measures to implement the principles in the Save
Act. But also remember, this is something that Democrats are fighting
against. Also, I know a lot of the blame goes to a few Republicans, but
this is an 80% issue. 80% of Democrats are also in favor of only citizens
voting in elections in U. S. Elections, and every Democrat senator
consistently votes against the Save America Act or principles to put
measures to put those principles in place. If we're going to have clean
voter rolls before the upcoming midterm elections, it's going to be on
the states, and it looks like it's going to take pressure from the federal
government to do that. I mean, New Jersey is one state where there were
tens of thousands, you know, but the president cited California's potentially
having hundreds of thousands of noncitizens on its protocols, and every
noncitizen that votes cancels out the vote of an illegal American left is
going to sell this myth that there's not enough noncitizens voting to flip
elections. But you tell which American citizen their vote is not going to
count and see how that goes over. Oh, there's a lot to look out for on this
particular issue. Appreciate you sharing your expertise and analysis.
Josh Finley. Thank you.
Thank you. And how are everyday Americans reacting to the thousands of
noncitizens on New Jersey's voter rolls? Entity Sam Wong was out on the
National Mall in D. C. Speaking with the people. New Jersey's governor. She
just announced that there were thousands of people who are noncitizens
were registered to vote between June of 2023 and June of 2024. How does that
make you feel about the security integrity of our election? It makes me
feel like that. It's not fair. I think only American citizen should vote in
the election, and they need to get onto it and pass the safe act. Well,
they're diluting the vote is what they're doing by registering
noncitizens, and it's not okay because when you do that, an American citizens
vote is diluted, where it doesn't mean what it should be. 100% of it. That
will take the citizens rights away because, you know, as a citizen, you
should have the right to vote, but it's a privilege from a U. S. Citizen.
And I'm dual citizenship. I'm Costa Rican American, and I went through all
the process and all the legal procedures to become a legal citizen.
There has been so many voter issues with illegal people on voter rolls,
and they let it happen and stay that way. I don't care if it's Democrat
state, Republican state. Get them off. Do you think Congress should pass the
Save America Act? Absolutely. It's crucial to our voting system, making
sure that we don't have illegal immigrants that happened to get a
driver's license and were automatically, uh, enrolled in voting,
which is what's happening in a lot of these blue states. It's got to stop.
Absolutely. I have to have I need a backpack, cigarettes, alcohol, pick my
grandchildren up. You need to vote. I'm from Costa Rica. In any country, they
always ask you for your I. D. Is transparency. You know, if you're in
this country, you should have proof that you're legal to vote in this
country. I think everybody has an I. D. I don't know why they're making such
a big deal out of it. Uh, you know, everybody knows how to get one. It's
not a racial thing. It's not a, you know, it's anything. Just everybody
should show the I. D. When they vote and make sure that they're eligible to
do that here. And Republican representatives are challenging abuse
claims at the Delaney Hall ice facility in New Jersey by calling an expert
witnesses for questions. Jason Blair has the key takeaways. The narrative
is at Delaney Hall and by extension, all of these detention centers are
places of cruelty. It's just not true. House GOP members confront what they
are calling false narratives surrounding the Delaney Hall ice
facility in Newark, New Jersey. The facility was the center of protests and
visits by members of Congress in May and June this year as the detention
center faced allegations of poor treatment and rotten food. I was
chairman of the prison gang task force went into every facility in the state
of New Jersey. And let me tell you, they wish that those facilities look
like this facility does. 300 detainees launched a hunger and labor strike.
They described being treated like animals. They and their lawyers
reported meals of rotten meat, expired expired meals, meals with worms in them.
Detainees there are served three meals a day and are evaluated by certified
dieticians. We're not eating. We're on a hunger strike. We're going to
sacrifice. We're not gonna eat. What do we find out? I don't know if you all
know. No, they were eating. They were given money by outside forces. They
were going to the commissary. One witness alleging mistreatment at
Delaney Hall suggests more oversight. If you want the truth about what's
happening at Delaney Hall and every facility like it, open it up to
independent, unannounced, uncensored oversight. Another witness responds to
the allegations against Delaney Hall. The smear campaign against Delaney
Hall is part of a broader assault on immigration enforcement and on the men
and women in uniform. Congressman Jim Jordan says the push of accusations
against Delaney Hall and ice are distraction. The Democrats don't want
to talk about anything other than this is because they want to take the
message away from what they've done. Step one, let in 10 million illegal
migrants. Step two, create sanctuary jurisdictions and step three, don't pay
the guys, don't fund the guys to do the removing reporting in Washington D. C.
Jason Blair and T. D. News and the Trump administration says America's
trade deficit with China has fallen to its lowest level in two decades. But U.
S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer told lawmakers today that Beijing still
controls critical supply chains entities. Chris Bob reports a large
part of the positive change in our trade deficit is due to reduce
dependence on China. Our trade deficit and goods with China fell to $200
billion in 2025, the lowest it's been since 2005. And China's share of total
U. S. Imports fell to about 9% the lowest it has been since China joined
the World Trade Organization in 2001. U. S. Trade Representative Jameson
Greer told the Senate Finance Committee Wednesday that the United States is
reducing its dependence on Chinese imports. Lawmakers questioned Greer
about China's control over supplies critical to the U. S. Economy and
national security. What is the status of current negotiations with China on
the U. S. Access to process critical minerals and rarers? So we are getting
a flow of critical minerals from China. It's not as much as we would want. It's
not at the pace we would want, but we are getting them. We're getting the
majority of what we need. Let's go to China. They have placed unfair export
restrictions on fertilizer products, upsetting global markets for
fertilizer. What can you do to get the Chinese to remove these export
restrictions in future trade negotiations with China? They want to
control fertilizer for their own use. They'll weaponize it at will. We'll work
with them. We have a we have a working relationship with them. We've been able
to get concessions from them. So if it's important to you, I'll raise it
with them. But we should all be realistic about those possibilities. A
separate House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing Wednesday examined
China's dominance in global shipbuilding. Subcommittee Chairwoman
Young Kim outlined the gap between Chinese and American production. Today,
the People's Republic of China controls over 50% of global commercial ship
building capacity. Meanwhile, the United States accounts for less than 1 10th of
1%. Experts told lawmakers that China's commercial and military shipbuilding
industries share facilities and infrastructure. A single state owned
conglomerate, the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, or CSSC,
builds more commercial vessels by tonnage each year than the entire U. S.
Shipbuilding industry has produced since the end of World War Two. Lawmakers
discussed bringing investment and expertise from South Korea and Japan
into the United States to rebuild American shipyards. The hearing also
revealed that 75% of the commercial ships produced by China State
Shipbuilding Corporation and its subsidiaries are destined for foreign
markets. The same state owned company is the principal builder for warships in
China's Navy. Chris Bob and T. D. News and coming up Republican gubernatorial

grandpa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it was a very unexpected bump in the
road for us. I've learned a lot on this journey with my Grandpa Lou, and the
memories of my grandpa will always be with me. And in our family, we're used to
getting involved, and I encourage you to do the same, especially when it comes to
caring for your loved ones. But I think about Alzheimer's and the impact it had
on my family. I recognize that losing a race isn't such a bad day after all.
It's important to notice if older family members are acting differently,
experiencing problems with their memory, or having trouble with routine tasks.
Talking about Alzheimer's can be really tough. But if you notice something, have
a conversation with your loved one. Encourage them to see a doctor or offer
to go with them. Early detection of Alzheimer's can give your family time to
explore support services, make a plan for the future, and access available
treatments. If you or your family are noticing changes, it could be Alzheimer's.
Talk about seeing a doctor together.
Welcome back to NTD Evening News. I'm Kerry Dunst. West Virginia Governor
Patrick Morrisey has deployed the National Guard following torrential
rains and flash floods. Footage captured surging floodwaters tearing through
northern parts of the state. Morrisey declared a state of emergency for all
55 counties, initially deploying 100 National Guard members before sending
another 200 to assist with rescue and recovery efforts. Forecasters say up to
seven inches of rain fell in some areas. Emergency crews carried out dozens of
water rescues as the floodwaters submerged vehicles, washed out roads and
forced the closure of major highways. The flooding was part of a powerful
storm system that also brought reports of tornadoes and damaging winds from
Cincinnati to New York, New Jersey suburb areas. Authorities say no deaths
have been reported, but cleanup and damage assessments remain underway and
tropical storm Bertha making landfall today in southern Louisiana. Governor
Jeff Landry warning the public to remain vigilant despite a positive
forecast. And the good news is that the storm is likely not to produce the type
of rainfall or wind event that it could have. But I want to remind everyone of
something important that forecast could change, and even a weaker storm could
produce dangerous rainfall, localized flooding and hazardous travel
conditions. You know, we saw that just a month ago when tropical storm Arthur
visited us and devastated of all his parish. We had all thought that we were
out of the woods and then of all his parish received 30 inches of brain in a
five hour period. I think it was, um, which was a record for the state. The
National Hurricane Center says Bertha made landfall in ST Bernard Parish.
That's about 40 miles east of New Orleans. Tropical storm warning was
issued from the Alabama Florida border to Louisiana. The storm surge up to
three ft are possible as well as heavy rain in some areas. Bertha is expected
to continue losing strength over the next few days as it heads towards Texas
in California. Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton launching the
next phase of his campaign. After securing a spot on November's ballot,
he unveiled his priorities during a campaign stop in Los Angeles entities.
Christina Corona has more from L. A. S. Historic Boyle Heights neighborhood
with the general election. Now, just four months away, California's race for
governor is entering a new phase. Republican candidate Steve Hilton is
officially launching his general election campaign, saying he wants to
fix California and make his case to voters ahead of November. So today we're
launching the second phase of this campaign to make California exactly what
we want it to be. What so many people are looking for the change that we so
desperately need. The launch marks the beginning of Hilton statewide general
election push after earning a spot on November's ballot. He's also
highlighting issues he says reflect broader challenges in California. Let's
fix California on the plans that we're laying out here today. Positive
practical things that are gonna cut your gas prices, make our state Cal
affordable. My plan is $3 gas cut utility bills in half your 1st 150
grand tax free starter homes for young families. Positive practical things that
will help everyone have a shot at the California dream. Hilton held the event
in Boyle Heights near the site of the lineage warehouse fire. The June 17th
fire destroyed a cold storage warehouse, leaving more than £80 million of food
to spoil inside. Residents have spent weeks dealing with foul odors, flies and
rodents as cleanup efforts continue. Just think about the people in this
neighborhood who've had to put up with this for weeks and weeks and weeks. It
is a symbol of the failure that we've seen, and that's exactly why we are
here. Hilton pointed to the warehouse fire and other disasters across the
state as examples of what he called government failures, saying communities
deserve a faster response when emergencies happen. Now we come when it
comes to specific disasters like we've had here, you see in this situation, you
see with the Palisades, you see right across the state, Democrat politicians
in this corrupt machine just just being completely useless and incompetent. And
so, as governor, I want to trust local communities. I believe in
decentralizing power, but enough is enough. There's got to be a limit. And
if a local politician is not delivering, then we are going to make sure that we
step in and act to protect and help communities like this one, Hilton says.
If local leaders fail to deliver, his administration would step in to protect
and help communities like Boyle Heights. If he's elected this November, Hilton
says he'll be traveling to San Diego this week as he kicks off the next phase
of his campaign. Reporting from the city of Boyle Heights, Christina Corona and
T. D. News. Thanks to Christina for that report. Next, Open A. I. Is calling it
an unprecedented and new kind of cyber incident during a capabilities test.
One of its A. I. Models went to extreme lengths to cheat the evaluation.
And it is. David Lamb brings us more on that. Open A. I. Just announced that
its A. I. System used the Internet to infiltrate Hugging Face, another A. I.
Company. During a benchmark test last week, engineering professor Ahmed
Manafa speaks with NTD comparing the incident to giving a student a test in
a secured office, asking them to find the answers any way possible. Now, in
your mind that the student will stay inside the office because you have it
secure and somebody outside because they're taking the test. The student
managed to go through the windows or so through another door that you don't
know about it and go to the library and get the answers and come back and give
you the you know the correct answer. This is exactly what happened. According
to Open A. I. After gaining Internet access, its models found ways to get
secret information that it could use to cheat the evaluation and even used
stolen credentials. Open A. I. Said we consider this incident to be an
unprecedented cyber incident involving state of the art cyber capabilities and
are responding accordingly. This comes as lawmakers have expressed concerns
about unchecked A. I. Models where ineffective safeguards could be used
nefariously on the enterprise or military level. The end that justify
the mean. So you're gonna find some action that is no, they don't
distinguish between what is ethical, what is legal, what is illegal. The
system is not designed to do that. It designed to do one thing mission
accomplish. And the last thing you want to do is one of those A. I. Agent
programs go to the airport and start missing of the flights and shut down
the airport hospitals. Open A. I. Stated that model security and safety must
keep pace with rapidly advancing capabilities. And I don't want people
to panic. I want you to pay attention. You know, honestly, we have to get to
the stage where safety is not something that you add at the end of,
you know, the developing process of the A. I. This is has to be part of
the design from the beginning. The CEO of Hugging Face says he's working with
Open A. I. To further investigate the incident. David Lamb, N. T. D. News,
California. The people World Cup has ended and some of the numbers are now
coming in. The impact to New York and New Jersey is said to be mostly
successful. And it is. Sean Marshall has more on that World Cup fans spent
$1.2 billion in June alone, generating a total economic impact of $2.1 billion,
according to the New York and New Jersey host committee. The host
committee says $228 million in tax revenue was generated at the same time.
Overall, the World Cup for the U. S. Economy was tremendously impactful for
New York, New Jersey. It's an awesome thing. I just got off the phone a
little while ago with a lawyer from that area, who is one of our clients,
and he said, My gosh, you can't imagine how great this was for our city
because it's not just the impact that it has on things such as the MetLife
Stadium and but it's it's all of the other businesses that are impacted. It
is restaurants. It is bars. It is hospitality industry folks that just
get such a major uptick. President Donald Trump said it was the most
successful World Cup ever on Tuesday, praising the 2026 tournament that was
co hosted by the U. S. Mexico and Canada. We didn't even have a protest.
We had no crime with all those events was like having many, many Super Bowls.
Each one was like a Super Bowl. And with all of that, we didn't have crime. We
didn't have bedlam. Everybody left here with a different opinion than what
they read in the fake news. They love this country. I saw Scotland. I saw
Norway. I saw all these countries. I mean, the level of love that nobody
wanted to leave. FIFA itself has received what is a report about this
being the single greatest sporting event in history. The 2026 FIFA World
Cup allowed $9 billion in revenue for FIFA. And so, you know, look, they were
smart about it. They increased the number of teams from I think it was 32
to 48, the number of matches from 64 to 104. And, you know, this was more than
just a let's make some money off of a single seasons event. I believe this
season was a big push politically. I believe it was a big push economically
for the U. S. Even though New Jersey transit and hotel numbers were lower
than anticipated, shuttles still took more than 116,000 fans over the eight
games, with everyone leaving in less than three hours after the games. Sean
Marshall and T. D. News and coming up at the World Cup. Sunday's finale saw

Hi, I'm Jane Seymour, and I spent years on TV playing a doctor. But I learned
about the heartbreaking reality of heart disease and stroke when they
touched my own. My father nearly died before having a quadruple bypass and
valve replacement that saved him. And my mom, who was my inspiration, suffered a
stroke that took away her speech, her ability to move and ultimately her
to see someone so vibrant, so positive, who'd survived so much in life, be
debilitated by a stroke. It was devastating and also a wake up call.
And that's why I'm so passionate about supporting the American Heart
Association. They're doing more every day to stop needless deaths. But they
simply can't do their life saving work without you. So please call now or go to
and for only $19 a month, just 63 cents a day. Your donation will go to work to
do amazing things like fund the next medical breakthrough, get the next
person trained in CPR and the next hospital certified in high quality
cardiovascular care. I hope that you'll open your heart right now and join me.

Now for your sports news. We're joined by N. T. D. S. Dave Martin. Dave, we
got some soccer and NFL news, but let's start with the Boston Red Sox. They went
from worst to climbing. They're on a huge win streak. What's going on up
there in Boston? 15 game winning straight. They just they just be
Baltimore this afternoon. 63 for win number 15 in a row that ties their
franchise records. I get set back in 1946. I was back when Ted Williams
starred for them. Red Sox. As you said, they went from fifth place up to third.
So so not too bad. I'm making progress halfway up the division just during
this winning streak. So just just within the last two and a half weeks, still
six games out of first. Now, if you remember, they fired manager Alex
quarterback in April after a slow start remained in last place really until
earlier this month. It wasn't until a couple weeks ago they really started
taking off course. Their pitching and defense has really been a major reason
why they've had this winning streak averaging just over two runs allowed for
a game. So now they're in third place, that 52 and 48 record. Today's game was
actually the first of a double header. Today they'll play Baltimore again
tonight, starting in just a few minutes, seven p.m. Eastern time with a chance
to set a new franchise record. Also playing a double header today though,
Yankees and Pirates. Pittsburgh won the first one, five to three. They'll play
again tonight with the Yankees getting all-star pitcher Max Creed back from the
injured list after more than being out more than two months because of a left
elbow bone bruise. That game also starts at 7 p.m. Eastern time. So the AL East is
heating up. You know, the Red Sox are only three and a half games behind the Yankees
right now. Yankees only two and a half out of first, so it's getting tight there
in the AL East. All right, well we're almost into the back half of the summer.
It's time to start paying more attention to baseball, looking at it more closely.
Dog days of summer here. Indeed, and a good time for Boston to make a streak if
they're gonna gonna have any serious... Yeah, who doesn't like the Red Sox-Yankees
rivalry, right? You don't even have to be a fan of either, all right? One of the
classics. In my opinion. Going back to the Bambino and his turning his back on on
Boston, but we'll save that for another time. Let's, you know, the World Cup is
over, but we're not done talking about it. The ratings are in. What did we learn?
Yes, we've still got to talk about these ratings. The ratings for Sunday's finale,
biggest in U.S. history. Now listen to this. Fox averaged 38.9 million viewers
for the finale on Sunday as Spain beat Argentina 1-0. Meanwhile, also
Telemundo averaged another 23.9 million in their Stint Vantage
broadcast. That equals more than 60 million, making it by far, in a way, the
most-watched soccer game in U.S. history. Also the most-watched World Cup
finale in U.S. history, of course, as well. Now if you compare that to four years ago,
just 12.8 million viewers in the U.S. watched the World Cup finale. Of course,
it was on the morning time. That was when it was played over in Qatar. Now, of
course, a lot of interest in the World Cup this time around certainly can be
attributed to having it right here, where all the fans descended into this
area. There was also the added drama of Lionel Messi and Argentina trying to
win back-to-back World Cups. They had a couple of miraculous comebacks just to
get to the final. But Spain obviously closed the door on them in the final
with, I think you can say, a dominating 1-0 win. You know, about as
dominating a 1-0 game as I've ever seen, anyway, in soccer. So we'll call it a
dominating 1-0 win, all right? Yeah, it's interesting how a 1-0 score is a dominating
game, but that's soccer for you, right? The game went into overtime. I will say
Argentina still had a couple of shots at the end, despite being dominated the
whole game. Super scrappy. So kudos to them. They definitely punched above their
weight. Spain really had next-level athleticism, but somehow Argentina was
able to just keep clawing their way back in games, and they made it all the way to
the final, and almost pushed that one into a shootout, which would have been
completely epic. Yeah, and everybody just likes watching Messi, it seems like, you know?
He's kind of a magician with that soccer ball, it just seems, you know? It seems to
me, anyway. Yeah, no matter what was happening with Dergoli and with
Messi, you couldn't count them out. Now let's go into some geography. You
didn't think you'd get that in the Sports Update. So Kansas City apparently
does not play today in Kansas. They play in the state of Missouri. Talking about
the NFL, right? I am talking about the Kansas City Chiefs, that's right. So what's
happening? They're moving out of Missouri. In five years. In five years.
The Kansas City Chiefs are moving from Kansas City, Missouri to Kansas City, Kansas in
five years. Now these are renderings of the new $3 billion stadiums the state of
Kansas is going to build for them to move just over the state line, still in
Kansas City, Kansas this time. And as you can see, it's still very reminiscent of
Arrowhead Stadium. If you've ever been there, they have that curved top of the
roof there with the end zones where it's at the shortest. But at
this time, you've got a domed top on there. And as you can see, it's a
translucent top. You can see right through it, which is pretty cool. I mean,
I don't know if I'd pay $3 billion for it, but it's still pretty cool there. And of
course, Arrowhead Stadium, one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. In fact, they
set a Guinness World Record back in 2014 when fans' collective screams reached a
record 142.2 decibels. They're hoping to duplicate that sound, of course, in the
new stadium. Now, they haven't actually decided on a specific site in Kansas,
except that it will not be on the Missouri side anymore. So yeah,
Kansas finally gets a big team. Everybody thinks it's in Kansas City,
it's in Kansas, but most of Kansas City is on the Missouri side.
The house that Mahomes built. You're from Kansas, Dave. What do you think of all
this? I gotta say, I was crushed when I was a kid when I found out the Royals
actually played in Missouri. I could not get her over that. It just felt like it
wasn't our team anymore. So Royals are still there, Chiefs are still there, but
the Chiefs are coming to the Kansas side now. Well, my family has been a fan of
the New York Giants playing in our home state of New Jersey since I was a child.
So that's just how the cookie crumbles. I know. It's a fact of life, I guess,
now, unfortunately for us sports fans. It happens in Kansas City. It happens in
New York City. All right, Dave, thanks for joining. Thank you, Kerry. And that
is all for today's evening news. But for around the clock coverage, you can visit
us at ntd.com. Thanks for tuning in. I'm Kerry Dunst. Good night.
