This is the Andres Segovia Show. Hey everyone, it's Andres, and I'm coming at you with another
video on Brax Technologies. Look on your screen there, that's not a product that you've probably
seen before, and that's because this is one of three new products that were announced at the
Brax Roadmap Event 2026. Technically, these things are for 2027, but some waitlists, reservation
lists, and such will open later this year, and you can get on the waitlist. The first thing that
was announced at today's event was called Brax Wink. Today being September 9th, by the way,
as I record this. So Brax Wink is called the most private mobile phone we've ever made.
Open source, modular, and completely off the grid. Yes, I did join the waitlist on this thing. This
thing screams BlackBerry. I've been saying for a while that we need a product like this back.
You guys know I covered Eclipse Communicator. This is a no-brainer to me, but the modularity
they're putting in here, and there's different approaches to how they're doing privacy.
You have to watch the event. The link will be in the description down below wherever
you're watching this, and if you're watching or listening to the podcast version, check out the
show notes available at theandressegovia.com where I'll be leaving a link to the premiere of the event
along with links to everything I'm going to show you today. So with Brax Wink, based on what
they showed, the idea is that, oh my goodness, look at that thing, that yes, it is a private,
compact, modular, open source, off the grid. It's a physical keyboard. I'm really curious to see
how they're going to do that, and this part looks modular, which means probably we can replace the
keyboard, maybe a different language. That'd be interesting. So we get a 4-inch OLED display,
and a physical kill switch. Where else have you seen this? Yes, unplugged. There were one of the
few that actually did this, and this is supposed to be coming, I think, for the open slate tablet
as well. So a high-resolution camera that, of course, waits to be seen. This looks like an easy
pull for a physical sim and global 5G connectivity, but if I understood correctly during the announcement,
I believe that it's not one that's meant to dial out through phone lines, but it's all run through
data. I could be wrong. So we've got a hardened OS, verified don't trust the most open-sourced
Android phone. Yes. Kernel, firmware, drivers, OS, and apps. What else? Adapts to your use ease,
your use case. Let's see. Omni mode. Here we go. The fully de-googled Android experience,
install your favorite apps, no ads, no trackers, no device ID, no profiling.
The omni mode, is that what they call it? And then there's zero mode. So what's zero mode? Designed
for secure communication, end-to-end encrypted comms, offline essential apps, advanced security
features. Let's see. Fail the temp wipe, auto wipe, wipe on reboot. Oh, that's so cool. I think,
yeah, no cellular modem equals no carrier identity. That's what I'm talking about.
So that was announced. That's really wild. So it doesn't run through the cellular.
It supports voice over IP calls and text. So that's going to be really fascinating to see
how all this develops. This is supposed to be truly private. And in this case,
a swappable because modular. So let's see. Remove the screws from the back. You can add an extra
battery to extend your battery life. And then you just get the foreign screen, right? Let's see.
You can replace it or use it without an extension. So you could just have the screen. So more features,
eSIM, dual SIM profiles, 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. Look, if they can do it, why can't you?
Big dogs, micro SD card, Bluetooth 5.3, dual speaker. That'd be interesting. Display out,
Wi-Fi 6, mainline support. So yes, this is the most fascinating product that was announced today.
Heck yeah, I'm on the wait list. This is something that I can totally see myself using because I
I've been saying for the longest time, I did an episode called Blackberry,
We Need You. That was years ago. So that's why I champion products from small companies
that are trying to fill a need. That's why there's Unplugged, there's Brax,
there's others down the pipeline, something that are trying to do something, but I will call out
those that are not doing it right. All right, so let's go to the other two products that were
also announced. So there's the Brax Wink, which has joined the wait list. The Brax 3 is available
for purchase at $339. This is the second iteration of the Brax 3. So I might end up getting one. No
promises yet because I am curious to compare it to the first generation version. The OpenSlate,
it's still in pre-order, but here are the other two. You can join the wait list for the Pulse
Human 00 or Wallop. Let me show you the Pulse Human 00 and then end it with Wallop. Okay,
so let's go to this one. Let's open the tab. So Pulse Human 00, a four-inch device carrying around
50 tops of AI compute, running models entirely on the device, de-googled Android, OLED display,
high-resolution camera, and full cellular and 5G support. That is wild. All those things into what
is like a four-inch product. So the idea is that you're using AI locally. Now, for those of you
that follow me on the social, particularly on X and Parler, I was covering this live. So I was
taking screenshots of the presentation. You guys can see some of the stuff that I put up there
because some of these pictures are not I see here. So you guys can definitely check it out.
X Twitter is underscore AndroSegovia on Parler at the AndroSegovia, okay? So this is interesting.
An AI that is just limited to this and only kept here locally and just it's private. So that's
pretty cool. But now let's finish this off with WallUp because WallUp, when it looks like a
tablet, it was presented as a tablet, but here's what it is. It's actually just more of a platform.
So the modular wall display for your home, open-source Android, native home assistant,
and every bit of processing done on the panel itself. Add speakers, microphones, cameras,
or sensors as your setup grows instead of replacing the panel. And I think that's just
absolutely brilliant. We needed something like this. Now, this particular picture here,
it does show, it looks to the left that there's a speaker type and over here to the right also
speaker type. This whole thing in the center is supposed to be a touchscreen panel and other
things. So they did, again, I'm going to leave the link to the presentation that Rob Braxman did
in the description down below, wherever you're watching this or the podcast, the show notes,
the company's episode at the AndroSegovia.com because this is exciting. This is what we needed
to see from those that are really interested in expanding their portfolio instead of just doing
another phone. I know light phones out there, it exists. I haven't tried it out myself and people
have asked me if I will cover the next upcoming product, which is a flip phone. I think it's
E-Ink flip phone, de-Googled. That's brilliant because they already got those on pre-order.
So there is a market for this. And especially now that you have a folding iPhone that's built by
Samsung or most components are Samsung and it starts at $2,000 and there's no privacy to any
of that. Look, I am interested in the folding iPhone, but the fact of the matter is for those
of us that have been looking for a privacy focused device, we usually been pigeonheld
to basically a candy bar black slate with no personality. And we want personality, we want
color. And what Brax has been able to achieve, and let me go back to their listing of all their
products, is they were able to get a brand identity right out of the box. And I said this
in one of my first videos with respects to the Brax 3, because as soon as they stuck with the
translucent back, they created a brand of their style and it's carrying over to the open slate.
It's carrying over to the Brax Wink and it's carrying over to their plans for the post-human
and the wallop. I love what they're doing. They have an identity, they honed it in, and there's
something that's beautiful to that minimalism because it really sticks to their privacy
and security and in a way, stealthy approach to things. And modularity, I absolutely love it.
So this is definitely going to be more square than anything else. Things that are out there,
especially when you're going to be modular, it's just so much simpler to make rectangle or square
parts when you're putting things together or taking them apart. But the point is that they're
keeping their identity throughout and I'm excited to see where it goes from here for the Brax team.
So bravo Brax team, kudos to you. I'd like to see where this goes and I'm definitely interested in
that Brax Wink and I might be interested in that AI thing, but I definitely, most of all,
I'm interested in the wallop because that's something that I have wondered about. Will
there ever be anything in the market for it? And like I said, you're seeing a need, you're
filling a need, you're putting money where your mouth is, you guys are developing this,
and you guys can go check it out for yourself out in the video. There's even talks about Linux
running on some of this stuff. So it's not just Android. So it's really cool stuff. But anyway,
I'll be keeping an eye on this. Go follow the socials for the Brax team. I'll be leaving those
links in the description down below. Those in audio already know this, the drill that's shown
us a couple of episodes at theinterestglobal.com. But anyway, what do you guys think? Are you guys
excited about this? Because I sure as hell am. And 2027 is going to be awesome because these are
not the only products coming out. This is just from Brax, but there's other companies that have
been in the works that are going to be launching their products next year. And I'm excited to see
those things finally come to fruition. Anyway, that's where I'll leave it. Thank you so much
for watching this episode. Remember to like, share, subscribe to stay in the know. Follow
