Monkey King Adventures: The Rise of the King is a fantasy-adventure animated series based on the Chinese classic Journey to the West. The 12-episode first season follows the journey of a young monkey born from a magical stone as he rises to become the fearless Monkey King. Along the way, he gains extraordinary powers, battles demons, dragons, and gods, discovers his strength, and learns from his mistakes.
