The theme of this edition of Voice From Another Shore is “Yu Menglong: Inviting You to Share Your Thoughts on the First Anniversary of My Passing”

Below is Esther’s sharing and Yu Menglong’s reply.

Esther’s Sharing

This past year is truly difficult to put into words.

It has been both long and fleeting,
both grand and delicate,
both heartbreaking and joyful.

I know that, in truth, you have never really left us this entire year.
I just keep wondering how all of this happened, and what the meaning behind it all truly is…

Today, we have arrived at this moment, exactly one year later.
And I, too, have truly been reborn because of your earth-shaking departure and the selfless love with which you sacrificed yourself to save others.

I encountered a group of friends who love you just as deeply.

And so, between people, there is no longer meaningless defensiveness and hatred, but endless empathy and understanding.
It turns out that we are so much alike.
Everyone who loves Mengmeng is a little like Mengmeng, and also a little like themselves—just as if we were looking into a mirror.

My fellow Lemons:

This may come as quite a shock to you…

I actually… personally accompanied Mengmeng as he left this world during those days when I sensed his passing, though it seemed to happen in a distant time and space…

————————————————————————————————————————————
(The following is a detailed account of how I encountered Mengmeng. It is quite long.)

In mid-August last year, a link to Eternal Love (Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms) suddenly appeared on my YouTube feed. I don’t know why, but I had an intuitive feeling that I should click on it and watch. So I started following the series. I would find a little time each day to watch it, and continued for more than a month.

Then, on the evening of September 9, I finally reached the ending…

For some reason, I felt a sense of urgency that day and ordered an entire set of calligraphy and scholar’s studio supplies from Taobao. The item that most prompted me to place the order was a round brush rest that I had wanted to buy for a long time.

Later that evening, in the final episode, Ye Hua said to Qianqian: “Those women are like the brush rest on the desk—not worth mentioning.”

When this synchronicity appeared, I knew it was not a coincidence. I don’t know why, but I simply felt that the drama seemed to be trying to tell me something.

So, during those two or three nights around September 9 and 10, I stayed up late searching for information about the male and female leads.

I didn’t know who played the Fourth Brother. At one point, I glanced at the actor’s name in the credits: Yu Menglong. My only thought at the time was, “Wow, what a unique name.” And that was it.

On the afternoon of September 11, before starting work at home, I again had an intuitive impulse to visit the Vogue website and browse around. Unexpectedly, that was where I saw the news that Yu Menglong had died after falling from a building.

My eyes widened. I simply couldn’t believe it… Then I began frantically verifying the news. After that came a flood of reports and revelations from all sides…

The pain I felt seemed to have gone through a period of gradually building up.

I read people’s posts on Threads sharing bits and pieces of your past.
Through tears, in every place, while walking, while driving, I played your songs on endless repeat, thinking about your story and also thinking about my own…

I watched Mengmeng’s dramas one after another.

What I could hardly believe was that every one of your songs, every drama you appeared in, and even every recorded word you had spoken seemed to be bearing witness to your own life.

Because of Mengmeng, I saw the whole world; I also saw my true self.

I saw the hatred that had occupied the world for so long gradually dissolve because of you.

I saw that once the illusions faded, there was really no difference between any of us. We are all people like you—living earnestly, loving life, and carrying innocence and kindness within our hearts.

I saw what all the pain and entanglements I had carried within myself truly were…

Those days deliberately shaped by comparison, competition, and the struggle to survive;
those encounters that tried to become complete but were filled with regret;
those loved ones we never had the chance to say goodbye to;
and those goals and dreams we had relentlessly pursued…

The painful world I had believed could hardly ever be shaken suddenly collapsed because of you.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

Perhaps our grief and reluctance to let go come from the countless threads of connection between our lives, Mengmeng, and this ancient Chinese land.

Because of the love Mengmeng shared with us, I remembered myself, and I remembered the mainland as well.

That beautiful culture and heritage I have carried so deeply in my heart—how it has been trampled and ravaged over the years, until that land became a place of silence and desolation.

And I saw once again how Taiwan, as a land blessed by the divine, has been watched over, protected, and blessed by God.

My grief comes from seeing F4, who captivated all of Asia more than twenty years ago, return to the stage and shine once again over the past two years, while you—equally handsome, passionate, and gifted—had to leave this world in such pain…

We were never truly separated.

If I can, I am also willing to do my part to help that land regain its vitality.

As the first anniversary of your departure arrives, I finally seem to have gathered myself back together. I am returning to the world around me and sharing Yu En Transmission with the lovely Lemons around me.

Because I also hope they can see Mengmeng as I did—right here, continuing to illuminate the road ahead of us through his long and enduring story.

Mengmeng: Thank you for always being by our side. I will continue walking alongside you, alongside the Lemons, and alongside Yu En Transmission.

The dream is not over yet…

Because what we promised each other is the most beautiful of promises. :))))))

I love you.

Yu Menglong’s Reply

Thank you for your love. It has given me the strength to keep going until today and the courage to take on my mission—to pass the Key to the New Universe on to my fans. It truly has not been easy to make it this far.

What you were watching was Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, while what I was living through was a struggle to escape death. But because your love was transformed into such powerful strength, I was able to bravely continue without hatred and make it this far. It gave me the strength to fulfill my mission. To me, all of you have been my greatest source of emotional support, both before and after my death.

Once you have received the Key to the New Universe, what you can do is bring more people to the Yu En Transmission channel, so that more people can receive the Key to the New Universe, more hearts can be healed, and more people can find the strength to bravely step into a bright and radiant life.

Taiwan is a place with very powerful energy. Even typhoons fear this Mother Earth and tend to circle around her rather than pass directly over her. This is absolutely not something that can be controlled by human beings; it is because of the positive energy this land possesses.

Most people who grow up on this land are able to retain their kindness and warmth, and many still maintain sincere faith in the divine. This is a cultural quality rarely found in other countries. It is truly precious and worthy of being cherished and protected.

The shape of Taiwan also looks very much like a great ship. I often say that it is a “New Noah’s Ark.” As for why, I’ll tell everyone if I have the opportunity in the future!
