In this video you will see CANA a mix breed dog that is extremely reactionary to any dog she sees and puts it on display while working with The Miami Dog Whisperer for the very first time. In true Miami Dog Whisperer fashion Richard works at her severe dog reactivity that day and watch to see what happens on her very next class!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is Kana. Kana goes absolutely crazy when she sees dogs outside in the streets.
You see here she's just going ballistic with this shepherd puppy and if we were to let her loose
this would be a really ugly scene. Kana has what I call frustrated aggression just like these next
few dogs I'm going to show you. Here you see this eight month old pit bull puppy going crazy at this
dog and this dog has gotten loose and mangled a dog across the street from them and had a big
problem with the county and here you're going to see Brady who also does what he wants on walks
and in the house snapping at dogs lunging at this pit bull constantly over and over trying to nail
him with bites and this is all from lack of discipline and this is what the typical dog does
to their owners busting out gate doors front doors just dragging them down the blocks no
structure whatsoever no discipline no respect for the owner and with the wrong personality type like
these other ones that I'm showing you you're going to have a big problem because those dogs are going
to start attacking dogs with lack of structure and it gets really bad with certain types.
I'm going to show you here in this next clip what dragging can do so here I'm letting Lamar
do what he always does the way he would do it with his owners just dragging me down the block
like a lunatic and then here you can hear his frustration the muzzle he grumbles and growls
underneath and with that energy you're going to see here he starts poking at the dog and trying
to get after her if there was no muzzle on him right now this would be a serious problem he would
really hurt that dog and send her to the hospital I'm telling you he's done it several times other
dogs and right there in that moment he really went for it and tried to get her really good
right there that was muzzle wasn't on big problem okay let's see so this is the same day after he
was attacking the dog now keep in mind Lamar's never been around another dog outside the other
dog that he lives with he could never be around one before he would attack them all the owners
were terrified that they were gonna have lawsuits on their hands so this was the first time but this
was after we just put Lamar through structure outside and got his head right and then immediately
we go and gamble inside the house to see what's gonna happen and he was perfect and that was
because of the discipline that we put him on outside the house making things very clear to
him of how life is going to work when at first you see a dog who's very playful with dogs
once you get that out of them they usually go back to being playful with dogs if they were a dog in
the beginning who didn't really have a play drive with other dogs probably not they're going to go
play with dogs again that kind of dog would be they just tolerate dogs so in the end you tell
the owner listen he's never going to play he was never in him not even as a puppy but he just has
to understand if he go if dogs are around him do not attack him right all i'm telling you dog
is that i won't allow it so if you don't like the dogs walk away but do not attack them
right you tolerate them what leash on the ground
what that miami dog whisper guy is crazy he's crazy
if you want you can let her i just want to go back for a second on the dragging and pulling concept
when dogs drag like that and pull like that they just load up and it causes massive frustration
and now you get all this built up pent up energy and a dog who never meant to attack dogs
now just it's like a time bomb when they reach the dog that they're going for in the street and
they just latch on to but really underneath they never meant it they just have no structure so
for us we always tell our clients to teach our personal protection dogs how to bite people
that's how we do it we put harnesses which is their worst training tool
except for if you're doing weight pull competitions or protection training
we build frustration through the harness letting the dog pull us down the blocks and do what they
want so just keep that in mind harnesses can be detrimental and makes dogs be able to pull and
do whatever they want with you in the streets awesome can cause massive aggression problems
all right and here you're going to see brady this was the same day as well that he was attacking
the dogs and going crazy but here after discipline and getting in his head outside about doing that
here we're letting brady free because he's never played with dogs before he couldn't he would just
snap at them go after them attack them so here you can see brady for the first time with two dogs
not just one feeling his way out here of how to play he doesn't know how to play with dogs but
now we're safe because here you can see him pecking at them a little bit he's just trying
to feel out how to do this and how it works he's been dying to play with dogs he just hasn't been
able to let go to do it and that's why the discipline and structure comes in it makes him let
go she's trying to lick him she's licking pumpkin in his mouth yeah that's awesome be careful good
very good good now just a curiosity because i know how wild she gets i saw her the first day
i mean she amps up when other dogs come around
did you think that she'd be able to do that no today you know that quick yeah because
only last week was the first time no no i'm kind of surprised she's this quick here today i i figured
it'd be more growling right or trying to attack the dog yeah without the muzzle yeah that's like
awesome but she doesn't even care
