A commissioned work made by WKMT Vice-Director Gisela Paterno for the Air Force in Argentina, named "Pioneer Women Aviators".

For the project, ten female composers dedicate a composition to ten Argentinian women aviators, pioneers in their field. The piece was premiered in Argentina by the "Fa Ensemble", and for every piece, a video linked the aviator's life and the music.

Gisela composed this inspired by aviator Irma Soledad Pintos. The title of the piece, "Pintando Soledades" -which could be translated as "Painting Solitudes"- it's a pun with the names "Soledad" ("solitude" in Spanish) and "Pintos", a word related to "Pintar", "to paint" in English.

In preparation for this piece, the ensemble provided details of the aviators' life, pictures, footage of her flying and skydiving, and testimonies of people who knew her.

"When this first stage was completed, I took two musical motives related to the solitude of being alone in the air, flying, and the courage of making the jump into the void, as this aviator was also a paratrooper; those elements brought the piece to life", Gisela said.
