Hey guys, well we are on our way home from the UK, negative COVID tests in hand. Even though I was only flying business, because the airport was so empty, I was treated to first class check in. Check out that boarding pass.
Now the British Airways south lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5 is open, surprisingly. You first go down stairs and follow the signs, then you go up these escalators, the first floor you get to is a first class lounge, so you go up again, past this very big questionable art installation to the business class lounge. There is a cool model of the A380 outside. You can use this lounge if you are flying British Airways Business Class or are a One World Sapphire or Emerald member, you can’t get in with Priority pass or any similar program.
This is a big lounge, with big windows for plane spotting, nice comfy leather chairs, wireless charging pads, I’ve actually never used one of those before, they had these really cool posters of vintage planes on the walls, that really looks like it was the golden age of plane travel, although I would still take the BS club suite over that rickety old thing, and even though it was pretty empty, there was still plenty of booze on offer. The British always keep an ample supply of alcohol on hand.
Hey guys, well we are on our way home from the UK.
Negative COVID tests in hand.
Even though I was only flying business class,
because the airport was so empty,
I was treated to first class check-in.
Check out that boarding pass.
Now, the British Airways South Lounge
at Heathrow Terminal 5 is open, surprisingly.
You first go downstairs and follow the signs.
Then you go up these escalators.
So the first floor and the first lounge you get to
is the first class lounge.
So you go up again,
pass this very big piece of questionable art
hanging between the escalators
to the business class lounge.
There's a cool model of the A380 outside.
You can use this lounge
if you're flying British Airways business class
or are a One World Sapphire or Emerald member.
You can't get in with Priority Pass
or any similar program like that.
This lounge is big, with big windows for plane spotting,
nice comfy leather chairs, wireless charging pads.
I've actually never used one of those before.
And they have these really cool posters
of vintage planes on the wall.
That really looks like the golden age of travel,
although I would still prefer to take a BA club suite
over that rickety old thing any day.
And even though it was pretty empty,
there was still plenty of booze on offer.
The British always keep an ample supply of alcohol on hand.
Some of the facilities are shut right now though,
so no free massages.
And this kid's room is closed.
Don't those little bikes look sad?
And that wasn't the only change.
Hey guys, so we are in the British Airways
at Gallery South Lounge at Heathrow.
It's a little bit different to normal.
You have actual table service instead of self-service.
So you have a barcode on the table
that you just order from.
Pretty cool.
And actually, surprisingly, the food comes really quick.
So you just look at a menu on your phone,
you order it, and it was literally there within two minutes.
Very, very cool.
And so we're sitting in this little seating area,
and actually they have this,
please do not sit in this seat thing.
I thought it meant don't sit on the entire sofa,
so I actually covered the sign up with my jacket here.
But Mrs. Kredeschiffel figured it out.
She realized it's kind of like social distancing,
like you can use two seats on the sofa,
but not the one in between
if you're in like different parties,
you know what I mean?
Like if you're not together.
Obviously, if you're together,
like you could just do whatever you want, right?
Anyway, it's been quite a nice experience here.
I quite like the waiter service, to be honest.
It's a bit better than helping yourself, you know?
The food really was pretty decent.
I had the chili con carne with nachos,
and it filled me up nicely,
so I didn't have to ask for a second main course
on the flight.
The cappuccino was also up to my standards,
so well done, British Airways.
They have screens in the lounge
where you can monitor your flight,
but they don't announce boarding,
so do pay attention.
Also, if you're leaving from the B or C gates,
you'll have to take a little train,
so make sure you leave the lounge
20 minutes before your boarding time,
or as soon as your gate is announced,
whichever is later.
And you're then ready to sit back
and enjoy your club suite
and get some much-needed rest.
Thanks for watching, guys.
Please subscribe if you're new.
I'll see you in the next video.
