was the year he was 45 years old Alms-seeking in the capital region of the southern country Was insulted by laypeople during alms-seeking How did he respond One noon after the Buddha had finished the corpse meditation On the way back to the forest for a meal A Brahmin who hated fire approached from the opposite side when the Brahmin saw the Buddha he was immediately struck by the Buddha's dignified and handsome appearance The noble and dignified demeanor of Virūḍhaka amazed the fire-tempered Brahmin who was skilled in physiognomy He carefully observed the Buddha Śākyamuni from head toe and then from toe to head He recognized that the Buddha Shakyamuni possessed the marks of a great person and the virtue of perfect wisdom and merit If he had not become a monk he would have surely become a king who unified the world Therefore he wanted to speak about his own naturally extraordinary beauty The daughter who is still unwilling to be married off is being married to the Buddha Shakyamuni The Brahmin stepped forward and said to the Buddha Shakyamuni Monks I see that you are exuding dignity and solemnity with an extraordinary demeanor He has the appearance of a great person and the virtue of perfect blessings and wisdom he will surely become a king he will have endless wealth and honor I have a beautiful daughter she has the beauty to be a queen You are exactly the right match for each other Please come to my house I entrust her to you The Buddha said "The elder thank you for your kind offer " I am a monk I have no interest in worldly life I enjoy the life of a pure and untainted monk The Brahmin said to the ascetic You don't know my daughter is not just ordinary beautiful Any man who has seen her is instantly captivated by her beauty Everyone wants to marry her She is just turning 16 this year I'm sure if you saw my daughter you would also like her and marry her and become a layperson Wait here a moment if you don't believe me I'll go home and bring my daughter to meet you the Buddha said okay the Brahmin hurried home and said to his wife my lady I found a good husband for our daughter today he has the appearance of a great man he is the most handsome person I have ever seen in my life hurry and bring the daughter out get her all dressed up and send her over to him He said "What's wrong with you How could you be so careless as to send your daughter away " "Our daughter is a rare beauty " the Brahmin said "Madam please be at ease " I am responsible for my daughter Dress the daughter properly and send her to her When you meet her later You will know all that I said Their daughter is named Mogantie She was already beautiful like a celestial being and after the couple's careful dressing she suddenly looked even more beautiful than a heavenly maiden The wife of the Brahmin took her daughter They arrived at the place where they had just met the Buddha Shakyamuni The Buddha Shakyamuni was no longer there They saw a series of footprints left on the ground The three of them followed the footprints in search of the Buddha Buddha Shakyamuni was seated with his eyes closed under a large tree The old Brahmin eagerly stepped forward and said to Buddha Shakyamuni " Reverend I have brought my daughter and my wife " You see how beautiful she is Now I formally entrust my daughter to you The beautiful Mogadhi fell in love at first sight with the Buddha However the Buddha who had long since completely severed desire slightly opened his eyes looked at the Brahmin's wife and daughter and asked "Teacher please tell me which of these two is your daughter " Which one is your wife the wife of the Brahmin exclaimed That young and beautiful one is my daughter That wrinkled old woman is my wife How could you not see that so clearly the Buddha said I don't see it The old one is your wife The young one is your daughter right Then I ask what was your wife like 40 years ago The Brahmin said 40 years ago My wife is as young and beautiful as my daughter The Buddha said again What will your daughter be like 40 years from now The Brahmin said 40 years from now My daughter will also become as wrinkled as my wife is today as she grows older Shakyamuni Buddha said so Therefore I see them only as different in age and not in beauty or ugliness But your daughter is indeed beautiful any man would be moved by her but I won't when I attained enlightenment I saw the various evils of desire she is a beautiful trap Once a person falls they will be drowned and swallowed She is again a rose growing on a cliff's edge Once someone goes to pick her they will fall into a deep abyss and be shattered into pieces People do not know love and its misfortunes Greed for love and pursuit Life and death without beginning or end How many heroes and outstanding individuals Talented people will all be caught in it I deeply understand its misfortunes I will never fall into this beautiful trap The Buddha Shakyamuni looked up and said to Mogandyaya Young lady do not have lust It is the main cause of samsara The root of suffering Looking at my quiet face you will extinguish your desire for love gain peace and tranquility but the proud and vain Mogandyi lacks a good foundation he does not realize it at all I still feel greatly insulted He thought to himself You don't want me anyway You even said everything I said was worthless Worthless This is truly an insult to me He glared furiously at the Buddha and then ran home and from that day on harbored resentment toward the Buddha later he relied on his beauty as a nobleman The queen who married the king of Uddiyana When the Buddha Shakyamuni came to the capital of Uddiyana the next year to preach Moha Gandhaya took revenge on the Buddha Shakyamuni Hired thugs insulted the Buddha with gold coins The insults were very offensive No matter where the Buddha went These people followed him there No matter how they cursed him The Buddha always smiled in response to insults Ananda one of his disciples could not bear the dirty abuse He said to the Buddha "Master let's leave this place and go somewhere else " The Buddha said Ananda where should we go Ananda answered To a place where no one scolds The Buddha said If that place also has someone scolding where then should we go The problem must be resolved where it occurs only then can we move on to other places One noon when the Buddha was getting up those hooligans climbed up the trees on both sides of the path and shouted insults wildly The man stepped on the dew on the tree branches drenching the Buddha Shakyamuni completely the food in his neck was covered in dew yet the Buddha Shakyamuni still had a smiling face Walking forward with a calm and steady pace regardless of their wild beatings there was a sudden loud crack followed by a sudden cry of alarm The curses suddenly stopped it was the person who had cursed the Buddha the most who fell heavily from the tree to the ground he tried to get up from the ground But it had failed several times He struggled hard and made a painful sound His partners were standing far away watching him The Buddha approached and helped him up discovering that he had suffered serious injuries and needed immediate treatment or else he would be in danger of losing his life but he could not walk so the Buddha supported him into the city Find the best surgeon Boto Luo When Boto Luo saw the Buddha Shakyamuni arriving he immediately got up yielded his chair and wiped it with a clean towel to let the Buddha sit dow He stood respectfully to the side when the Buddha asked him to quickly treat the injured but Bhotroya refused saying "Respected Buddha I know what has happened these past few days " This is the person who has been scolding you the most Now he's fallen into this state It's completely deserved The Buddha Shakyamuni said Please don't think that way When they cursed me with the most vile words when the branches drenched with dew swayed and soaked my body I felt no hatred towards them nor did I think they were cursing me I treat them all as my close brothers Now my close brother has been seriously injured and is in despair I should help him Please treat his injury Esteemed doctor Those rowdy troublemakers who followed the doctor to the temple suddenly all fell to their knees and wept confessing their sins having witnessed everything before their eyes and realizing the true meaning of goodness and beauty They all took out their coins and threw them into the nearby trash can determined to change their ways and
