On December 9 2013 six doctors and lawyers from North America Asia and Europe traveled to the United Nations headquarters in Geneva
They handed over to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights a petition with 1.5 million signatures from around the world calling on the UN to investigate the Chinese Communist Party's alleged forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners
At the same time in Strasbourg France members of the European Parliament are discussing a resolution condemning the CCP for harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners
It may be the first time at the EU level that such a clear and unified condemnation of the CCP's treatment of Falun Gong practitioners has been expressed
The cold winds of early December in Europe are biting
Outside the European Parliament building in Brussels a group of people silently expressed their demands to the sound of soothing music
The protest expressed a commitment to the Chinese people who share their beliefs with the CCP
Especially the violent act of extracting organs from them
Brochures were handed to members and staff entering and leaving the European Parliament
The birthplace of fundamental values such as democracy freedom and human rights
The lawmakers in the building are considering how to fulfill the duties and exercise the rights they are required to as representatives directly elected by the citizens of 28 European countries
At the same time Falun Gong practitioners in Europe wrote letters or made phone calls to their country's Members of the European Parliament
Urge them to pay attention to the crimes of the CCP's forced organ harvesting and pass a resolution to condemn this act
We mainly focus on European democrats because I am a European citizen
I would like to give you some updates regarding the issue of organ harvesting
At first these issues were discussed at the high level
They even said that the time was too short and that a resolution to censure should be passed but we continued
At that time there was less than two weeks until the final vote on the resolution
Although they said the time was too short I will not stop
This is for the next issue
I think with this belief and persistence this matter must go through
I think this will also help them change
In addition 15 international organizations or groups have sent letters to the
European Parliament urging the Parliament to adopt this emergency resolution
Therefore this condemnation of the CCP for extracting organs from
prisoners of conscience especially Falun Gong practitioners resolution
Began to take shape in the European Parliament and quickly gained the support of informed members
This is a particularly shocking issue regarding Falun Gong and organ harvesting
I would say we must send out a very clear message
For us this is unacceptable it must stop
now it must stop everywhere regardless of
whether someone is for or against it In my
organization I am the leader of this decision
This is clearly a fundamental premise of our organization
There is no controversy no opposition
However the brutality of the organ harvesting
accusation goes beyond the limits that people can accept Having
experienced the genocide of the Nazis during World War II
Yet again endured the iron-fisted rule and massacres
of the Communist Party I had thought
the inhumane pages of history remained sealed Walking through the spacious and bright parliamentary building
The lawmakers could not imagine nor believe
that while they were drinking coffee and
handling documents people were being kept in
camps on the other side of the Eurasian continent
They were killed according to the demand for organ transplants
That reminds me of 1941
Mr MacMillan Scott in the death camp
He went to London and Washington
trying to tell his allies what had
happened in the death camps A
famous judge named
Felix Frankfurter
He is of ethnic origin
when asked by reporters you don 't
believe the young man's story you call
him a liar
He said no I didn't say
he was a liar I just
said I couldn't believe what he said That's the real issue
To prove the existence of
organ harvesting Mr MacMillan
Scott in 2006 personally
traveled to mainland China
Met with Niu Junping
and Cao Dong two Falun
Gong practitioners and
compiled his investigation
process and results into a report He said
he could only tell me that he had a friend
Another Falun Gong practitioner in the prison
that friend one day
disappeared then
he saw his body that
friend's body in
the prison hospital
In addition an independent investigation
report written by a renowned human rights
lawyer provides authoritative evidence
of the exact existence
of organ harvesting
Our evidence and
proof for us is a
kind of evil that
we have not yet seen
In 2006 Canada's former
Ambassador for Asia-Pacific
David Matas and Canadian human
rights lawyer David Matas
Regarding the issue of harvesting organs from Falun Gong
practitioners an independent investigation was launched and with
the objective and rigorous approach characteristic of lawyers
the detailed evidence and findings obtained were presented
Compiled into the book "Bloodstained: The Live
Organ Harvesting " they subsequently traveled to
more than 40 countries around the world published
their findings including the European Parliament
Many legislators learned
the truth about the CCP 's
organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners
through the visits of these two Davids and
their authoritative investigation reports
After the investigation report was released Falun
Gong practitioners around the world began using every possible opportunity to inform people in various
countries about the organ
harvesting taking place in China
Among them are survivors who narrowly
escaped the fate of being organ-harvested
Such survivors also arrived at the
gates of the European Parliament Liu
Yumei a Falun Gong
practitioner rescued
by the United Nations to Finland
Her parents sister and husband were all
persecuted and died
or suffered unjustly
because of their practice of Falun Gong
She herself was once arrested nine times
And was forced to suffer injuries
She came specially from Finland
as the first witness of persecution
to enter the European Parliament The
assistant of Finnish MP Agnes Salo
Shared his personal experiences
Liu Yumei herself once suffered
from rheumatoid arthritis After
practicing Falun Dafa for 40
days she was free from the disease
But was severely disabled after being
subjected to more than 30 types of torture
during the CCP's nine illegal arrests
and was in critical condition four times
My father in his 70s was run over by a coal mine cart causing multiple fractures throughout
his body The hospital was
unwilling to perform surgery
After returning home my
father learned Falun Gong
It can be put to work on the ground without taking too much time
In this living cry of blood and tears the
legislator's assistant's eyes turned red
Under the joint efforts of informed
legislators and Falun Gong practitioners the organ harvesting
ceremony finally formed a
formal resolution before
the parliamentary session
awaiting approval by vote
On December 9th
members of the European
Parliament came to
another parliamentary headquarters building in Strasbourg
France for a plenary session as usual
Walking through the warm building
The legislators looked through the glass window
at the fog and low temperature
No slogans
noise
This group's way of petitioning
is different from any other
protest group
yet demonstrated a resilient strength
in silence
The legislators
began to wonder
what was going on with the
emergency resolution that
would be voted on in three days
I want to
record Dante 's
quote that the worst
place in Hell is for
those who remain neutral
We are in a
political crisis
now so we should take action
This day the European Parliament
was not the only place discussing
and reflecting on
the moral crisis
of organ harvesting and how to act
At a pivotal international center in Geneva six doctors and lawyers from around
the world arrived at the Office of
the United Nations High
Commissioner for Human
Rights carrying a letter
A thin letter carries 1.5
million heartfelt wishes
from people all over the
world each signed with care
Nearly 1.5 million signatures have been
scanned and burned onto
CDs and have been sent
from various countries since December 3rd
to the United Nations Human Rights Council
This signature campaign is
initiated by an
NGO called DAFO
An increasing number
of medical experts
have joined DAFO and are traveling
around the world to call for an end
to the CCP's organ harvesting practices
In the mid-2013 DAFO
launched a global
campaign to collect
signatures calling
on the public to pay attention to
this violation of basic human values
Criminal acts
December 10th Human Rights Day
Representatives of DAFO and their legal advisors
by Lake Geneva
regarding the submission of signatures to the United Nations
A press conference was held
The second day of the
Geneva press conference
another DAFO member rushed to Strasbourg
France to attend the
European Parliament'
s vice president for human rights affairs
Mr Mike Milan Scott
Holds a press conference on organ harvesting for job hunting
There was less than a day until
the final vote on the resolution
The last working day of the European
Parliament in 2013 the
legislators who had voted
had already begun to leave the parliament
building and outside
the parliament building
Falun Gong practitioners
' petition continues
on the cold wind blows
through their layers
of clothing yet they
have received unexpected
warmth Around noon from inside the building
A middle-aged woman
in her forties came
out after I greeted her she主动ly told
me I am the chairman
of the Human Rights
Association I support
you I have a blog
Welcome to visit my blog
Not only were there legislators but also legislative aides and translation staff coming out of the
building they had come specifically for signing
autographs and taking photos
or to endure the cold wind
Falun Gong
practitioners silently petitioning express greetings
a middle-aged man in his forties
he said he is not a legislator
But he very much hopes
that they will come to our
booth and sign in person to show their support Several
people volunteered to say
that what you are doing is
very important and has made
the truth clear to everyone
It's too important thank you all
On the evening of December 12th the
legislators who had voted had already begun
to leave the parliamentary headquarters
building and the debate on this resolution
Still continuing nervously
inside the conference hall
During the debate there were
also some voices of doubt In
response German MP Michelle
Galler gave the
following answer
It was a very normal ecosystem
A regular council meeting
would have council members The council members in our meeting
would be responsible for the council members
It is the responsibility of the European Union to
strongly condemn the actions of the Chinese government
Touching on the core of human technology and
basic human rights this resolution initiated
by five of the seven parliamentary groups and
supported by six groups
ultimately was passed
The resolution was passed with a majority of
votes The resolution calls on the European Union
and its member states to publicly condemn this
unethical organ trade and inform European citizens
The resolution also requires the President of the
Assembly to forward the
resolution to the European
Commission the European Council the United Nations Human Rights Council
and the Chinese government
From the 2006 national debt organ exposure
to the reports of two Davids being released
and now to the European
Parliament passing a
resolution to publicly condemn this atrocity
Nearly ten years have passed
I think we have learned
a lot during this process
of support and now we are
much clearer about what
is going on in China and
much more determined to
continue our support and express our solidarity
oward our Chinese friends
now
the legislators who initiated this resolution
hope the Chinese people will understand
this is a message of goodwill they have sent
this resolution
It is the decision of the
European Parliament to do
something which is a loyalty
to the Chinese people
I am very confident that this resolution will be
welcomed positively by those who care I understand
Sometimes China is like
Russia thinking that the
West is forcing it which is obviously nonsense
because I think the West has no courage towards China itself and no courage
towards Chinese thugs
They are fearless and
very brave
this is very
common I think this is
all civilized
countries
This issue is not a simple
political matter between
parties Actually this
issue concerns the future
survival of all humanity because human
society without
the most basic sense
of morality is
hard to function
