Top 10 Lines of All Time I Ski Men | Ski Channel
Loic Collin-Patton, the Frenchman from La Clousette, making his way across the ridge here.
Pretty sure that everyone chose the widest ski they have in their quiver.
Oh, going for the big double already. First rider down is the guinea pig.
Dealt with it beautifully.
Oh, that shutting down speed was so tough because he had that avalanche green to another big hitter.
You're right, there's a lot of hard snow there and he really had to kill the speed.
With a 360, if he sticks that, what a combination to start off from. Holy moly.
Big drop, double 360. He always does well in Chamonix, he always does well in Alaska.
He needs some, yep. He's the guinea pig, so he was the first rider going over that cliff.
I'm prepared to eat my words when we see this whole run all the way to the bottom,
but it feels like he just took his feet off the gas ever so slightly for that last drop.
Yeah, this last section, you see that stomp? It's so tough because until the very end,
you actually don't know if it's going to be neck deep or if it's going to be pretty...
Holy moly, what an incomplete run.
Oh my God, look and he's claiming it. Loic never claims. Loic Collin-Patton never claims a run.
Only in the finish. Then he claims big, but not during the run. You're right.
That was huge.
Here comes Logan Perrota, the local and one of the favourites of Tour and of course this event.
Yeah, sending it off the corner. With a big 360.
Nice. Opening up. Stomping it too.
Getting to the technical section. Will he send this off the nose and not hesitate? Yes, he will.
As a double. Holy damn. Gets a little bit wild up in there, but wrangle the chute style.
He is here to get rowdy.
How fast can he be through this technical section that everyone has decided is too rocky?
Really fast and off the nose of the hugest stomp. Holy macaroni.
This is unbelievable. Oh my gosh. In the gnarliest part of the mountain.
And this is going to take a win with 98 points.
I have never seen such a score.
Coming up next is Rainy Barkrit. He is my pick to win today.
He was my early pick to win today and he is capable of skiing an even better line than Leo Slemmett did.
And then of course the other Swede will be Christopher Trudel.
But Rainy Barkrit now on course.
On course into the central couloir. Dropping into that very steep section and he's going full throttle.
If you would know the consequences underneath.
And he's going like hell speed.
Get your speed together. Thanks for not scaring us.
Rainy, he is called mayor of stomp time.
That's his style and his riding from the beginning.
Since he started 2009, going big every time and he continues.
Wow, it's just a big wow from my side.
Rainy Barkrit, this is why I tipped him as my personal favorite for the win here today.
And he has to take the win.
First place finish in Fever Rune 2014 and third in Snowbird.
Already a few years on the tour and he proved that he can go big.
He's always a threat to the podium.
Last year's world number two.
And he's looking into something special.
You can tell already by his body language.
Dropping into that exposed area.
You have to rush off that speed. Perfect control.
Look at that. Where is he going?
Where are you going? Exactly. Thank you.
Look at that. Wow.
Sam Smoothy.
Go the Kiwi.
Unreal.
Well, world number two.
Started off with a 16th in Chamonix.
So a bit disappointed and he's telling himself and everybody.
I need to make up some serious ground here in Andorra.
And he's done just that, ladies and gentlemen.
But he's not done yet. Stay on your feet.
Thank you. Took the words right out of my mouth.
Yes. Really nice combination.
Like three features in one.
Just bring it down. Bring it down.
Such a nice rider.
No.
That was so close.
Unbelievable.
Almost blew it but didn't.
We nearly jinxed him.
I'm going to go out on a limb.
Yes, Smoothy.
Christopher Tourdale.
He is, in my eyes, he's the favorite for,
one of the favorites for the overall Tour ranking.
And probably favorite for every Tour stop to win.
So solid. Airing into that chute.
Shutting it down.
Speeding it up and stomping it.
I think it was such a technical entrance to that chute.
Even more impressive than Aymar for me.
Absolutely.
Goes big with the backflip.
Oh, yes.
That was so laid out.
Going big.
Oh, yeah.
How does he look so relaxed?
I'm just speechless.
He always puts on a show.
And he makes it look so easy.
So easy.
It never looks like he's trying.
That backflip was huge.
I think he went past everyone else's bomb hole.
He took it to the flat.
He's not finished.
On a tiny shelf.
Sick double.
Opens it up.
Going for another trick at 360.
Staking it.
Nice, Christopher.
Oh.
Yeah, yeah.
You thought he was going for your cliff.
I thought he was.
I thought he was, man.
But what a run.
That was incredible stuff.
Leo Slamet.
He is always good for a huge line
at the back of the Ross.
What a career he has on his hands.
He is going into a new zone.
Huge cliff just below him.
No hesitation.
Going huge.
Holy damn, Leo.
No one else has gone there today.
Sending so much love over that cliff.
Spinning a three into the exposed zone over here.
Really solid run here so far.
He's taken a second here before
on the back of the Ross.
Four huge butters there.
Going for a backy.
Staking it.
And not finished yet.
Cutting back into the mandatory
and stomping that one too.
And still
not finished probably.
He knows how to please the judges
all the way to the finish.
This one rolls over. It's so blind
but still no problem for Leo Slamet.
What a line
from the Frenchman.
The Chamonade.
Good amount of creative stuff
over there from him and Marcus Edith today.
On course. Starting it off today.
It's Barik Gorak.
He was competing on the qualifiers
since 2012 I believe.
And now he is back.
First time on the world tour. First time on the BIC.
And he is here to rip it up with so much speed
coming out of the gate.
Oh yeah. Central Couloir. Super steep terrain.
First time ever on the back of the Ross.
Already into Hollywood Cliff.
Opening things up
with a huge air.
Yeah Barik.
Continuing to riding. Super strong.
Huge turns.
Getting into a new zone there.
Or for him definitely new zone.
What we will see of the huge cliff at the bottom.
A huge backflip.
Sick.
Holy damn.
Are you kidding me?
Barik Gorak.
What a way to open things up.
That was a mind bending run
from the Frenchman.
Next rider up. Already on course.
We have Drew Tabke. The last rider.
Drew Tabke from
USA.
Currently resident in Seattle.
Also a veteran.
Winner of both the free ski and free ride
world tours. Really cool style.
Hope he is alright with
Berkeley being compared to him.
Getting into the same air as who do we see in here?
Leo Sleman. Very creative
approach.
He told me man I am last in the
start list.
So the central couloir
will be completely skied out.
Very smartly but he
sent that air so hard.
Holy moly.
No one else has hit that. He is the last person to have a
fresh landing. Big uphill side.
Three. What a creative cat.
Holy damn Drew.
That is
standard for Drew.
To surprise us. What is possible
and what kind of links you can do
between features.
And then
finishing it off with a huge feature.
Get in there buddy.
Stomp set.
Not finished.
Oh
stomp it.
Yeah.
Oh my god.
Oh that doesn't count.
That doesn't count.
It was on the flat.
He was on the cat track.
They stopped judging there.
Hope so. I have no idea.
Drew Tamke. He is still cheered up.
Thank you so much
for that incredible run.
So creative. So smooth.
So stylish.
In my hair of today.
We're in the yellow bib today.
Marcus Eder. He is
ready to roll. Oh yeah. Marcus
every time he drops in it's something special
and it's almost always something that I never
even noticed or thought was possible on the face.
We're going to see what he's got
in store for us over there.
That's right. Marcus such a nice guy and as you say
such a relaxed attitude but such a super sender
as well. Taking that top hit big
and that's into exposure as well. I'm not sure if you could
see it from the camera angle but nice 360
there as well joining the Victor De La Rue
club and looking
for a transition over here maybe.
Yeah getting a little face shot
there as he popped the top off the spine
and now moving across
getting cross court there finding transition
super smooth there. This is really
creative in the classic Marcus Eder
style. He's always just got a slightly
different take on the face. Now
he's going to come in underneath this thing
and still making his way back
up across there. Transitioning
again. Transfer ears. We love
them. He obviously loves them and that's a really good pick
today with the snow I think. If you go
full line it can be hard to shut it down so
popping up and over to give yourself as much speed
or as little speed as you want to land in exactly the right
place. Really smart skiing from Marcus.
Yeah lining up a nice
laid out backflip there and he's going to get cross
hill off this one as well. Smooth
top to bottom run for Marcus
Eder. He was all over. He's really
used up the whole mountain
side to side. Boom
all in the green. Category
is lighting up like a Christmas tree.
Craig Murray the Kiwi
back to his nemesis. He
went down hard. Ended his
season on this face but he's back
he's fully fully recovered. He's
skiing at a top level
every time he drops in. I'm on the edge of
my seat. I can't wait to see what Craig's got here
for us. Is he going to spin a
floaty three into the exposure
above the Hoisel Cliff and then pin it to a
different landing. Yes he is. New Zealand
just crushing it so far today
and Craig Murray mentally strong
needs a result today to make Verbier
and got injured here last year. Then flat three
into the section.
Oh Craig Murray with two
massive massive tricks
on the upper section of his run.
The flat spinning above the
exposure still absolutely pinned
not taking his foot off the gas at all
so so fast even
with the tricks. Craig Murray
definitely making a case
here for the top spot on the podium
as his run is hot right now.
Just floating off that one and sending
this one to with style. Just stay
on your feet buddy. Get through that heavy debris
get to the finish line and we will
have three Kiwis going to Verbier
for the first time in the history
of the Freeride World Tour. Pumping his chest
yelling out. He is
pumped. He is psyched. He is stoked
and I am for him. That was a magic
run and wow.
