MY DAD TRIES SHOWJUMPING!

Hi guys! A very wet hello because it is currently raining and I'm soaking wet. My feet are soaking wet. I'm sorry to start this vlog on a downer but walking and my feet are going squish squish like in my shoes is not a nice feeling. But in better news I have Cal and Fiona here because we are going to be going schooling. Oh I'm going the wrong way. Um yeah we're going to be going schooling to our local equestrian centre kind of showgrounds. Sorry I have scissors in my pocket let me stab myself. My dad isn't home from work yet so I've just got in the horses and I'm going to groom them and get them all ready and stuff so he doesn't have to do that. Yeah it's exciting. I'm riding Cal and my dad is riding Fiona. This is going to be his first time jumping away from home. It's only like his fourth time jumping Fiona so it should be entertaining but I think it'll go well. I'm excited um I hope the rain like maybe stops. It was not meant to rain today and even when I look at my weather forecast on my phone like for right now it says oh no rain. Like it is raining. I can see it. I can feel it. My hair is wet. Anyway welcome to Ireland. Um yeah I'm gonna put them in their stables now. I forgot to say that the reason my feet are soaked is because I moved them to their new field. Here is Dally very excited and there's Jack on the back end and Welbeck is there. So they're in this front field now. I've uh halved the field so they don't get the whole thing at once um but yeah so hopefully they'll stop jumping over fencing now. Huh? So now Welbeck, Fiona even, has all her boots, her tail bandage on. She's ready to go. What's that Fiona? And then Mr. Cal. I'm gonna put his boots on now. And now Mr. Cal is ready. What do you think about these boots? He hasn't had them on in a long time so he's gonna be a bit... Oh what's that? Oh good boy. You're all right. Now we'll pack the lorry. So I have everything I need laid out here and now Dad's here with the lorry. We're gonna load up the lorry and then load up the horses and off we go. Dad's big day out. There are two kids. Cal literally looks like a pony. So I'm just walking Cal off now. He's probably gonna neigh a few times in this video so please ignore that. He was absolutely excellent. He was just so so good. Um he knocked two poles the very first time I went around the course because I was kind of pulling him going oh I don't know if you're gonna jump it and the minute I went around and left him to his own devices he jumped everything, didn't touch a pole. I really needed to stay positive and stay really soft with my hands. Sometimes I'd try to ride him like I'd ride Welbeck like a more established horse and more experienced horse like with a lot of hand collecting and stuff but that just doesn't work with young horses um he's not able to collect I have to just keep him moving and when he jumps out of that lovely um flowy canter he just pings and even when he gets deep with that big canter he really just stays really careful so yeah it's like you think you're protecting them you think you're keeping them careful by holding but really you're doing the opposite because you're just distracting them and they don't know what they're doing so yeah I'm absolutely over the moon. I cannot wait for Saturday I'm really excited we're gonna jump the 90 and then see how that goes and then maybe the meter we'll see but he's just yeah he's been excellent he didn't look at a single filler he used to be quite spooky with fillers now he has absolutely no problem with them so yeah I'm just absolutely delighted now it's dad's turn extremely good dad wow he's doing the two fences no problem keep going sit up sit up with your body now he's doing perfect sit up really good oh perfect sit up excellent oh my gosh I'm so excited okay guys he's about to do his first double very excited very good sit up oh very good dad oh my gosh so good like a pro good on you next into the ring is Declan riding Somervidge flush for to win the aga can he has to go clear so dad's doing his first course sit up that's it very good sit up very good well recovered challenge here is dad remembering the course oh my gosh excellent out of this blue fence quite a difficult one aced it gonna be quick remember where he's going I'm in the way sit up very good he's going to a second double which he hasn't jumped yet pretty exciting but she was very good sit up two fences left red he's cutting in I think he's doing a jump off turn sit up left right he doesn't actually know his rights and lefts so that was not really helpful coming to the last the clear for the win the aga can trophy for Ireland I'm really excited clear round victory for Ireland Ireland have won the aga can oh my gosh well done dad you did it so well you were brilliant too oh my gosh I could not be happier or prouder of my little Fiona and my little daddy-o oh man I just had the best day it was just such a joy watching them it just makes me so happy to see them both having fun and her jumping around the jumps like dad has never jumped over like 80 centimeters on her he's jumped one single fence and now he's jumped around a whole course that was his first time doing a double and he jumped like around two in a course you're just mad simples he said now he's so full of himself he's gonna be saying holly why can't you get clear rounds I can get clearer exactly come on sweet home Fiona he goes for a hose I'll get my oh cow put your head back in there mister please put your head back in good boy so the horse has got a little hose and some feed Fiona has finished hers but Cal is still eating his so we're gonna have to wait for this guy to finish then they go out in the field so I'm gonna end the vlog here um I honestly couldn't be happier with both of the horses and my dad the two horses were brilliant Cal was excellent foot perfect I couldn't have asked them to be any better I'm really really confident now for Saturday for the show I feel like he's just gonna pop around no problem it really is nothing to him he finds it very simple so it's it's really nice he's just a lovely horse to ride he did all his flying changes he just stays in this lovely rhythm it's yeah he's very nice to ride um Fiona was so good I'm just over the moon with her she was really careful she was getting my dad out of trouble she was being so good oh she's here looking at me kind of through the door through the window um yeah I'm so over the moon it's just I don't even know why I'm so like it made me so excited but it just made me so happy to see my dad and Fiona going really really well and I'm so excited for them to go to a show now they like they're they wouldn't they wouldn't stand out you know they wouldn't be out of place at a show they like they've really improved so much so quickly like my dad really hasn't been riding that much and god I'm just I'm so impressed by both of them couldn't be happier so yeah this this is the end of the vlog uh tomorrow I'm going to be prepping Cal for the show on Saturday so I'm going to be cleaning him cleaning my tack giving him a big makeover making everything look a little bit more respectable a bit more like a show jumper and clean all my tack it's a really really dirty so yeah that's what I'm gonna be doing tomorrow I'm also gonna hack him I think that's the plan could change we'll see oh also tomorrow I'm actually going with Mackie Ireland to take some video clips so I can bring you guys along with us and show you what we're getting up to and I think I'm taking videos clippers so I will show you them and yeah it should be a good day out right I hope you enjoy the video and thanks so much for watching Fiona is also saying goodbye bye all out in their new field oh that's excited bye guys
