She'll need to be big tonight.
A little known fact is that serve goes long.
Cash Williams had transferred to go to Long Beach State,
so the only player on the floor that would have been with Williams at the time would be Nick.
Her serving effectiveness has really picked up over the last five or six matches.
She has 14 kills that swing from Williams.
And they can't become too predictable by just setting left side.
They've got to get their middles involved.
On the slide, and a kill there on the slide by Kate.
She's like, what's up? Give me the whistle.
Evans in there, not a set.
And there's Krause.
Props for that swing.
Served by Kubik, into the tape.
Leaders on this team.
You know, no captains this year for Penn State,
but she certainly is one of those leaders on the floor.
Here's Evans.
Bait and horse with the tip, and that is wide.
Bait and horse.
Penn State.
Good swing.
That's a good-looking freshman right there.
On that court, instantly Penn State played a little bit better
and really rode the wave of her positive play.
Good dig there on the swing by Krause.
A couple big swings, got two aces,
and things really turned around for her Penn State team.
First 14 matches, she played in only 10 sets.
But if you look at the last three matches, she's played in 11.
So, clearly, her play and practice has picked up
and we've seen it in the game as well.
And there is one of the best.
On the slide.
Goes into the hand.
There's hollow to the block.
Gets put into her hand.
She takes cross-court away.
Beautifully done by Horton.
Second touch, not down.
What a save by Roddy.
Upset out to Lon's team.
Back in system are the Nittany Lions.
Coverage there by Grimes to keep it alive.
Tip right back.
They need to get Nebraska out of system one,
but get side outs quickly
because they felt like the longer a play went,
Nebraska was in a better position transition-wise.
Yeah, and just incredible instincts.
You're seeing the best in the business right there.
Big by Grimes.
Among the leaders in the conference.
There she is, Kaitlin Horton, third.
Of course, Raynell Jones has been among the leaders
in the country over the past three years.
For the Terps.
A little shot out of the back row.
Stark not down.
Overpass.
Starker there again to pull that out.
The Nittany Lions.
As a unit, you can see the numbers right there.
Number one in the Big Ten Conference
and so many right on the back line.
Of the attack is going to go away from the blockers' hands.
The center has so much control.
Nine service aces on the year for Kirshen.
Tough serve there handled by Knuckles.
Upset out to the pin.
Sit back over by Crousy.
On the quick middle.
Right back, and we see Kubik on the right side.
We'll see if she stays.
Ball served long, so it doesn't really matter.
Tough serve.
Bigs by Bilinovic.
Middles, Huskers trying to stay in system
and feed the middle.
Really tough to the back.
Oh, the sixth match that Clark has played in this year,
but the last two have been impressive for him.
Against the fighting Illini and so far here tonight
against the Browns.
One error on five attempts,
so we'll see if Cook has quite the bench
and he can go to a number of different players
to play that left side position.
Evans up off her feet to bump, set it out to Batenhorst.
Markle into the block.
Rodriguez takes the second touch.
Good reaction to keep it alive.
Markle off the top, not down.
Right back to Batenhorst again.
Swipes it off the block.
As her favorite relative, I just love this story.
Nine grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Has a great-great-grandchild on the way,
20 grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
So out of the last time out, Nittany Lyons.
Making Penn State think.
Right now they're hitting 0-88.
Penn State's team is.
Batenhorst is.
By Kubik.
Short serve handled well by the Nittany Lyons.
Block touch for Nebraska.
Right back out to Kubik.
A good dig in the back row, kept it alive.
Great defense here by Penn State.
80 in the Big Ten Conference this year.
Right behind, you've got the players
of Knuckles and Rodriguez.
It's tough to score.
7-1 Nebraska run.
Clear it.
Back to the middle is Taylor.
Set point number two.
Good pass.
Oh, great up.
On the slide.
Clark right down.
She got it.
Was chasing Knuckles.
All she had to do was touch it,
and somebody was going to send that third ball over.
To stay balanced and ready to move
after the ball is set.
Timers so far giving easy points to Penn State.
Once again, block late getting there that time.
Blonstein.
Had a touch on it.
A big block.
And the success as a result of that.
Kubik swipes at it.
Good diving save in the back row by Grimes.
Kill by.
But Grimes doing a nice job in that back row.
The one handed up there.
That one goes off the top of the block.
Grimes pushes out.
Nicklin hands in the front row.
That's the only time I saw them.
Now we will definitely look to see
if when Nicklin hands rotates to the.
There's that.
Right.
Tough one.
There to send it.
To take.
Good at her position.
There's a big swing.
Spread out that offense.
Swiped out by Krause.
Bumps it out to Williams again.
That's in the back.
Two touches.
With a kill.
Keeping a minute.
Bumps it to Kubik.
Trying to get a line.
That's wide.
No touch.
Pushed by Hames.
But the block got there.
Who's who of collegiate volleyball I'm sure.
That will be off of.
Played for McHaley at Texas.
She still is in the record books for Texas.
The eighth match that Nebraska has had ten or more blocks
as a team on this season.
Good pass.
Run a quick middle and they got it.
The ball hard and fast.
Flipping shots and those high off the blockers' hands.
Some of the veteran hitters make it look so easy.
It is a tough skill to master.
Has continued to get better every single year I've seen her play.
Great numbers.
Hitting 343 on the year.
Two kills per set.
Speaking of.
So Evans now in serving out of the back row for Nebraska.
Served there by Kraut.
Check that's Kubik.
Nice up again.
Dumped there by Trammell.
Reached.
Selesa Elisaia.
Tough serve.
Nice pass though.
And Hoard with the tip right back.
Elisaia kept it alive.
Great job.
No doubt.
No errors on seven attacks.
Just wide.
Point.
Penn State.
Kircher with the tough serve.
And then a nice up.
Thought maybe you want to swing right there, right?
Yeah.
At the tip.
Yeah.
Lost even like that one back.
Yeah.
Clark.
Off the block.
Penn State.
Served by Rodriguez.
Touch for the quick middle.
Knocked down by Holland.
Good opportunity there.
Markley has to readjust.
What a save.
Again into the block.
What makes them so good.
Mark on the slide out of the timeout.
There's Rodriguez.
Hand with the up.
Is there a touch?
No touch.
And missing the hands.
Return to feed.
Yeah.
We've already said not a great serving night.
I think at set point.
Him and learning from him.
Cooke's tree.
Rose's tree.
Even longer.
Excitement, anticipation maybe in Licken
that the final four is back in Omaha.
Typically when it's there.
Ooh, some miscommunication there.
Your backyard, so to speak.
That's right.
Right up.
High hands.
That hand of the block.
The outside hand, even more impressive, right?
We get the touch out and the touch long.
And that time it's the freshman with the kill.
Nice swing by.
Not going right into the belly of the block.
Ooh, Kaitlin Hoard, just her second kill.
From Hoard.
In her first week here with this team,
John Cooke couldn't have had more praise
for her approach, her leadership.
I think this condo is, she's just a pro.
She just handles Zoe Weatherington there
on the sideline for Penn State.
She came in here and had a win last year.
Tip drive by Alec, not down.
Your fault.
It was my bad set.
Even if it wasn't, you want to take full responsibility
as a setter and help your outside hitters swing well.
Kubik again.
Yeah, and that's what makes Nebraska so good.
Lots of different options.
A well-run offense.
Kubik.
The thumb down really shaved off an angle there,
but not down.
Haynes can attack because she was in the front row there.
That swing is wide for Nebraska.
7-2 here in the third.
Free ball over.
On the slide, Alec goes wide.
Got the touch, and Becca Alec.
Right to Alec.
Got a DS back there to pass.
Not down.
Kubik with the tip.
Back row attack.
Oh, they wanted knuckles.
On the slide.
What an out.
Looked like that might have been outside the antenna.
Point Penn State either way.
Hey, pentations.
Four touches.
Four hits on Nebraska.
You know, you just have to flip things around.
They need a couple players to kind of do some positive things
and turn the momentum.
On the back row.
Oh, nice tip.
There's travel again.
Penn State.
A little pregame meal.
Next time we're in town.
I like it.
I like it too.
Come on, buddy.
A tough serve there.
There's one for Williams.
They're definitely having to play clean and play tough.
Don't want errors like that.
Don't like that.
Back-to-back points for Penn State.
That's a great swing and an even better dig.
That wasn't bad either.
And then into the net.
Trying to keep it alive and clip the bottom of the net.
Off the block.
Trammell got a hand on it.
There's a good swing by Weatherington.
Oh!
Yeah.
Shoot.
Such a great swing by Weatherington.
And dig.
Weatherington.
Having saved the back row.
That's a double.
Yeah.
See, Knuckles just made a highlight reel on that dig in middle back.
Bump set.
Longstreet again with the kill.
Beautiful bump set by Lexi Rodriguez.
Straight up overpass.
Oh my.
Come on, Knuckles.
And then finally the block on Nittany Lyons' side.
Gets it and that's Weatherington.
She's come into the match and had an impact.
This defense tonight for this Nebraska squad has been remarkable.
Yeah, it's kind of...
Alec.
Block touch by Alec.
Longstreet with the kill.
Whitney Longstreet now has seven kills.
There's Kubik.
No touch.
Four years.
It's the tenth sweep over Penn State for the Huskers.
Nebraska wins it 25-9 in the third when we come back.
