And I'm scheduled to race that car with the M5.
It's an underdog for sure.
Look at this guys.
He made even more power. 691 horsepower. Nearly 700 horsepower to the wheel.
And 639 torque.
I think the only real advantage I have at this point is that the M5 is DCT.
And it has twin turbo setup so it should spool up a lot faster for those 40 rows.
Oh boy.
You guys are already familiar with this car. 335i Carlos.
He pretty much has the same setup he had last time when I was at the shop and we were doing the swap.
Other than his turbo failed so he upgraded it to a 6466 journal bearing.
So it definitely has a little bit more upside.
And obviously he's running a more aggressive setup in the back. Very meaty.
Because the stretch look is not really going to put power down.
So this is a lot more practical.
We just came from the dyno. Were you impressed with the numbers?
Yes.
Dude nearly 700 horsepower. If it was cooler weather you would have been up there for sure.
My goal was 650 wheel but I made more power.
Dude way more power.
And in one run you even made 670 torque.
Which is insane. We don't like to go over 650 for our stock bottom end N54s.
I was hoping to make 700 wheel but like you said the weather and then my low pressure fuel pump was cutting up top.
And I'm planning to upgrade it to a 535 pump. Hopefully that fixes it.
But like you mentioned before pretty much the same setup.
Only thing I changed was the 6466 on it.
And then because my 6266 blew.
And then I got a moss cement oil cooler thermostat to keep the temps lower.
And that's really effective right? You told me I should get that.
I should get it. Every N54 owner should get that.
Especially you.
Let's have a closer look at it. It legit looks like jewelry.
That's shiny bro.
Stands out. So not only does it look better but it's apparently more effective than the OEM one you get.
For sure. I should get everything polished to match the look.
But that's the thing with most N54s. Once you're trying to make power it's always a fueling thing.
You gotta keep up with the fueling demands for high horsepower N54s.
A lot of you guys that don't know I actually run a stage 4 setup from fuel it on the E90 335.
An overkill setup. I think 1200 horsepower, 300 horsepower tops all that.
But obviously I didn't want to run into any fueling issues which is why I did that.
But anyways today's not about the E90. Gotta get the N5 out to race this guy.
And it should be a really good one.
You guys are familiar with the N5 already.
But for those of you guys that are not. Here are the mods that I have.
RK titanium front mounted intakes.
CSF charge coolers which by the way you can get on my website.
We have the entire exhaust system from FI Exhaust.
That includes the downpipes and the catback.
The car is currently running boot mod 3 stage 2 93 octane.
It's supposed to be a conservative tune but it makes a lot of power.
Last time we dynoed the N5 it made 635 horsepower I believe.
And 670 pound feet of torque.
Which is insane because the weather outside was 101 degrees Fahrenheit with a humidity factor of like 40%.
Something crazy like that but the car still made a lot of power.
Definitely one of the two biggest factors with this race.
Is gonna be the weight of the car and the transmission that we use.
So he's running a traditional 6 speed manual transmission.
I have a 7 speed DCT.
And my N5 weighs around 4400 pounds while his weighs around 3600 pounds.
That's about 1000 pounds of discrepancy.
And here's the kicker.
He has a single turbo. 6466 64mm.
So it takes a while to spool sometimes.
Unless you're brake boosting or using anti-lag.
I have a twin turbo. V8 setup.
I get power immediately.
I think I make peak torque at like 3000 RPM which is insane.
So the minute I floor it this car is out.
And of course this happens and it starts raining.
So we're gonna have to postpone the race to tomorrow.
But luckily for you guys since this is YouTube you guys will see the next day right now.
We are back. It's the next day.
We got the N5. We got Carlos back in the house with the 335.
IAT's are really gonna suffer today in this hot day but better than rain.
I was not expecting that.
Bro I was not expecting that.
Bro warning bro.
I could not make this up fellas.
That loud pop you guys heard on video.
Literally popped a rare section of that VRSF exhaust.
Unbelievable.
But we're gonna go ahead and take care of this real quick and then we'll get on to the race.
Alright so we're going to Mexico as always.
On the way there I'm trying to warm up the tires.
These crappy ass Pirelli tires.
Because I was doing a couple of runs earlier today to kind of prepare for the race.
Car kept going sideways on second gear.
40 mile per hour rolls.
For this specific setup I have an N5 295 Pirelli P0's.
I think boot mod is just too saucy for them.
But I still want to do a 40 mile.
We'll see what happens.
And if not we'll go up to 50 or 60.
We'll have Carlos on the phone so we can communicate.
I think he benefits from a 50 or 60 too as well.
Because he has a single turbo setup.
So we'll see.
Well that wasn't too bad.
I guess it depends on the road that you're on.
By the way.
I did an oopsie moment.
But luckily the car is too smart to fall for the stupid ---- that I just did.
I hit the left pedal instead of the right pedal.
But it was like I slipped.
That's why.
Imagine that.
Money shift baby.
I don't think you can do that.
I know but I did press it.
Weird.
Awkward.
It's definitely spinning.
But it hooked a little bit.
That's when I shifted.
But you lose so much momentum because of that wheel spin.
You saw it go sideways.
It definitely went sideways.
It went like this.
And I didn't let off at all either.
I just kind of powered through it.
Right there.
Like right there.
Maybe half a car he had me.
M5 is doing pretty good.
I'm actually quite happy.
I wasn't expecting to win but that's a pretty good race.
I do want to get a 50 or 60 roll in just to see if that would change the outcome a little bit.
So I think we'll do that for the last race and then that's it.
Call it a day.
Does my E90 sound like that?
I don't know.
I haven't heard it in a while.
You got to put those two against each other.
That's for sure.
Yeah.
So I lost on the 60 roll as well.
I might have to switch over to that ethanol blend boot mod.
Because 93 ain't cutting it.
But again, I would have to upgrade the tires because these Pirellis are not good.
But I didn't get any wheelsprint for that one so he kind of beat me fair and square on that one.
And in typical BMW fashion, ladies and gentlemen, I have an engine light.
Sick.
This is what I need for the M5.
Meat.
What up, dawg?
What's up, man?
Any thoughts?
Talk about all this ****.
I mean, I didn't expect to beat him.
I know you sauced up the tune last minute so you could race me.
No, I didn't, bro.
Yesterday, that dyno session, I seen that.
Car's running okay?
Yeah, it's running good.
I don't know, GFB is not working right now.
You don't need GFB, bro.
Who needs boost control?
I need some of that anti-lag sauce, bro.
Yeah, I need some of that.
And brake boosting with carbon ceramic brakes.
**** that.
I tried brake boosting but it doesn't work good with this car.
Appreciate the run, man.
Real good.
I'll come back for that **** next time.
I don't know what car we'll do.
Maybe the Supra or the E90.
E90.
Like I said, bro, if this car was an E85, you probably would have got my ****.
Not with the Pirelli tires.
I don't know, man.
I recommend these tires to everyone, bro.
Yeah, really good tires.
I don't know why, bro, for those 40 rows.
Overall, I'm happy how both cars performed.
I mean, regardless, like you said, the 40 rows were the closest ones.
But the 60 row, I mean, I got you.
No, I couldn't do anything on the 60 row.
Good ****, bro.
Well, there you have it.
I honestly didn't know what to expect with the results.
I think we were really close for 40 rows.
60 row, he kind of had me.
I didn't wheel spin and he still had me.
40 rows, he was beating me by like a half a car length.
I did have wheel spin.
That's the only problem with my setup.
But anyways, no excuses.
I lost fair and square.
Maybe I'll load up the E85 mix from Boot Mod.
Get some better tires, rerun it later on.
But it was fun.
I hope you guys really enjoyed that video.
