Welcome back to my channel and welcome back to my home. So a couple of videos ago I showed you guys
how I redid my daughter's room in a really simple boho way. It's really really cute so go check it
out if you haven't seen it. But the number one question I got on that video was where are you
putting their clothes? Where are you going to organize and set up their clothing? Because I
turned their closet into a really cute little reading nook for them that they use all the time
now. So I don't regret doing that. However, I had another plan for their clothing. So our house has
two floors and I wanted to be able to put all of the laundry away on one floor. So I decided to take
one of the closets that we have in our hallway and turn it into a closet for them on one half
and a storage closet on the other half. It previously was fully a storage closet. If you
guys have been around for a while you've seen me organize this closet before but we are going to
give it a little makeover and make it into partially clothing storage and the other part
for backstop for different things and we'll get into that in a little bit. My daughters are five
six and seven and so if they have clothing in their closet and access to it sometimes they can
make a little bit of a mess so it helps me to be able to kind of monitor and help them get dressed
in the morning a lot easier whenever it's all in the same zone of the house and really close to
where I can grab the laundry and put it away. Of course to start off this project I had to make
myself a nice cup of coffee and if you guys follow me on Instagram I post on there almost
every day on my stories then you know I've been drinking a ton of cold brew and a ton of iced
coffee but today I just felt like a hot coffee. I told you guys on my story this morning that
I am getting so excited for fall and just ready to decorate for fall. I have so many fun projects
ahead that I'm going to show you guys a lot of budget-friendly projects and makeovers and things
like that so hot coffee just seemed like it would hit the spot whenever I was thinking about all of
the fall inspo this morning. Anyways I'm gonna stop rambling we're gonna jump in to I'm gonna
take you guys back in the hallway we're gonna jump in to this project and we're going to kind of dive
in to all of the organizing and how I'm going to set it all up. I want to say a huge thank you to
Dymo for sponsoring this week's video. I'm going to be using the Dymo label writer 5xl to help
organize and label my bins and just kind of get everything really categorized inside of my closet
because the label writer connects to the Dymo connect desktop app you can create all kinds of
labels you can use your own fonts you can create your own shipping labels everything inside of the
Dymo connect desktop app is very user-friendly and quick and simple to use. This label writer
has automatic label recognition it can count the labels that are remaining and recognize the label
size and type that you insert into the label writer. There is no ink required so you don't
have to be replacing any ink cartridges or anything like that and it has direct thermal
printing technology without the need of ink or toner. Okay so this is the side that I'm going to
do some backstock storage in and I'm mainly focusing on personal care items. I have other
storage areas in our basement that I've moved a lot of the stuff that was in here down there and
then this side of this closet is where I'm going to be organizing the girls clothing and just
putting everything in a nice fashion to where we can quickly access everything whenever we're
getting ready. Okay so as usual I like to show you all what I'm going to be using to organize and
kind of put everything in. I like to call them my tools my organizing tools so I've got a few
different size bins I will link what I can below for you guys and you're gonna see my layout and
everything. I'm going to get everything laid out but one thing I do recommend is when you're going
to organize shelving or a cabinet or anything get your measurements of your cabinet so that you know
what size bins you need and what will fit while you're shopping. So take a little tape measure
with you shopping and it will help you or if you're shopping online obviously that's really easy
because all the measurements are there for you. So I've got some regular just acrylic bins and then
of course I know I've been raving about Brightroom these are from Brightroom and the cool
thing about these is they actually are removable the little dividers so I may end up taking those
out just to fit like some hair products and things like that and then these here were a great little
find in Target's bullseye section. They are these acrylic drawers and they're just great for smaller
items like razors and chapstick and personal care items that you don't really want floating around
they kind of corral everything inside and they're stackable so you can kind of stack them to however
high you need them and they were at a really great price point for five dollars. I can't link these
but you can definitely check out your Target and see if you can find them there. Check out the
description box for a discount code and the link to get your hands on one of these label makers.
They are so convenient for so many different tasks around the house. I know that you will love it as
much as I do. It has fewer misprints it's virtually jam free and it is premium print quality. You all
know that I love things that are sustainable and they are sustainable labels that are BPA free
FSC certified and the packaging is made from up to 80% recycled material.
All right so now we're going to be tackling the clothing storage side of the closet and I just got
a couple of really simple things. I love the more natural feel of the rope baskets and the woven
baskets. These baskets here are going to hold socks and underclothing and then I got three of
these smaller baskets for the top for hair items and things like that and then I found these little
shelf dividers. I thought that they would be perfect to kind of keep their clothing pile
separated. Since I have three daughters I'm going to just do three sections the whole way down the
entire shelf and they'll each just kind of have their own section of the shelf. A quick little
tip for you guys and I have used shelf dividers before but they were acrylic and this is a great
perk to using a metal shelf divider. So some of them this one down here I didn't do yet you're
going to see them be really wiggly and they're not being nice and sturdy on the shelf. Well this one
here I just did this little trick too and you're going to see it's very sturdy on there. So basically
all you need is a pair of pliers and you're going to I'm going to show you in a second how to do it
but you're going to just take the pliers and bend that metal piece just a little bit so that it's
got a better grip. I am so happy with how this has turned out. I feel like this is going to stay so
much more organized for the girls clothing and I can see everything it's not in a drawer somewhere.
I think I'll be able to just access what they need really quickly in the morning or when we're
getting ready for bed. So down here on the bottom I'm have their underclothing and their socks.
I actually need to buy socks since it's summertime we haven't been using them and I have a few pair
but not a lot so that will have socks in it and then right here I have their shorts right now I
have their tops right here and then this is kind of like rompers dresses and like sets of clothing
that I have and then their pjs here and as you saw I put some of their accessories up here. I was kind
of thinking with the winter coming on I'll probably move their pjs up to these bins and put these
things in a little caddy somewhere and that way I will have space for both short sleeve tops and
long sleeve tops kind of moving that up and putting the long sleeve tops in here then obviously jeans
and leggings will replace all of the shorts. The nice thing about this is they can also reach almost
all of this so even if they are getting dressed independently they can get to everything that they
need and find things quickly. Okay then on this side obviously is all of our personal care items
we can easily get to our paper products down here this is kind of the hair stuff I've been wanting
to use this on the girls hair and then these this is the brand I like for my hair and this is the
lotions we use body washes in here I've got toothpaste both for the girls and then the ones
that we use here is essential oils and I can change all of this stuff up that's what's really
nice about all of this I actually have some other style like bandages and stuff I need to put in
this one and then mouthwash the nice thing about this bin is even if I get a larger container of
mouthwash it will fit in there as well some hand soap medicines and I keep the back stock of our
vitamins in the vitamin cabinet if you guys want to check that out I'll try to leave the link below
for the video where I organized that cabinet and then up here is kind of a catch-all for just any
random extra stuff I have there's shaving cream and dry shampoo and deodorant and things like
that and I have some extra space here which is always nice to have extra space for things I
also have extra space kind of in these if I wanted to I could throw little things in there and then
this is my go-to like rub slash salve that we use for all kinds of things whether we're sick
or have sore muscles things like that and then just some extra cleaning products that we use
regularly that if we run out we can quickly grab out of here anyways you guys I am so happy with
how this organization went today and if you guys are new here don't forget to subscribe to the
