What's everybody so in today's video we're taking a look at the brand-new
2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS huge. Thank you to Randy Marion Chevrolet. They're providing this car for today's video
I'll have to link down in the description below to their website. Definitely check them out
They have a huge selection of all the brand-new
2019's and a huge selection of the all-new Camaro and the model that we're looking at today is finished off and crushed orange has the
1le track performance package is equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission and has an MSRP of
$45,000 underneath the hood. This features a 6.2 liter 8-cylinder engine that produces
455 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and
455 pound-feet of torque at
4,400 rpm
The engine is either paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission or in this case this car is paired to the 6-speed manual transmission
The power is of course sent to the rear wheels through a standard limited slip differential with a rear axle ratio of 3.73
And with the curb weight around
3680 pounds you can expect 0 to 60 be 4.3 seconds for the manual and 4 seconds flat for the automatic
The overall wheelbase is a hundred and ten point seven inches. The overall length is a hundred and eighty eight point three inches
The width is seventy four point seven inches and then the height is fifty three point one inches for 2019
They've updated the front end design. The SS now has a very aggressive design
You can see the gloss black center with the blacked out Chevrolet logo with a hollowed out center portion
We get large body color pieces that cut in to give it a very aggressive look
Leading to aggressive center mesh and then coming down low to an extended satin black front splitter
We also get functional side vents within the bumper to lead air through the bumper and around the front wheels
LED daytime running lights and fog lights and projector beam headlights and then finishing up with more mesh in the upper portion of the grille
A ton of cooling can be provided to the radiators and overall the front end is extremely aggressive and then making our way to the hood
It's wrapped in a satin black vinyl
We have a functional heat extraction vent up top as well
Very aggressive lines in the center that flow nicely to the front bumper and then the sides of the hood dips down a little bit
To make the center more pronounced
Moving on to the front fenders
We have the Camaro badge with red white and blue the 20-inch forged aluminum wheels are part of the performance package
Of course, we get the Brembo braking system with red brake calipers a set of Goodyear Eagle f1 tires wrap the rims
They're 285 wide up front and then 305 section for the rear
This car also has a nice touch with a satin black gas cap with some carbon fiber trim on it
The side profile of the 2019 is similar to the previous years
We have sharp lines on the lower portion of the door and a nice smooth transition from the door to the rear quarter panel
Satin black side mirrors and body color door handles also give it a nice sleek appearance and overall has a very proportional
Muscular appearance and then making our way to the rear end
We get the new taillight design that has a very three-dimensional look to it much more aggressive than the previous generations
I really like how you can actually put your hand into it
So it gives it a very nice look with a lot of depth coming down low
We have the dual mode active exhaust system with quad exhaust tips
I'll black out Chevrolet logo and then of course the satin black rear spoiler
So that about wraps up talking about the overall specs of the car as well as a lot of the exterior
Styling the overall look is really really cool
Especially in person side profile is pretty much similar to the last few years of the Camaro
This is all still the same generation
That is the 2016 and newer the front end now that has caused a lot of controversy
A lot of people don't like the look of them
But honestly when you see it in person, it is so aggressive and mean it honestly looks like nothing else
You see out on the roads. It just has a completely unique appearance extremely muscular, especially in this crushed orange
This thing is so sick looking
I can only imagine how menacing it looks out on the road
But a Chevrolet did a really good job just giving it a nice aggressive look and now to move on to the interior
I'm gonna keep the key in my pocket
Go ahead and lock the car placing my hand on the door handle and just pressing the chrome button
You can go ahead and unlock it. This car is a pretty much fully loaded vehicle
We get the Recaro bucket seats finished off in leather and Alcantara
manual transmission with Alcantara along the shifter and the steering wheel
Definitely the spec to go with so then starting with the door panel
We have some black leather along it on the armrest has a nice feel to it
some silver trim as well your mirror and window controls and then your lock and unlock with your release handle a
Trunk button and then a little bit of storage and making our way. These are power seats as well
We get the white stitching along the leather on the bolsters nice aggressive bolsters great for performance driving
Very very nicely done with all the stitching
We have perforated Alcantara on the headrest more perforated Alcantara and some nice stitching to it some gray contrast as well
Definitely a sweet-looking seat. I think they did a great job picking out these seats
Full Alcantara steering wheel to give you plenty of grip when on the track and performance driving
Flat bottom design in your SS logo and then now inside the car to go ahead and start it up
I put my foot on the brake and the clutch press the button
car roars to life
And then to change the active exhaust we have your mode selection right here going up and down
We'll change it on the menu. So sport mode
Just got a lot more beefy sounding back up the tour the valves closed
We also have your snow and ice mode and then a track mode and this all changes many parameters within the car for acceleration
Throttle response traction control and everything like that on the left side of the steering wheel
We have all your cruise control settings along the right side some Bluetooth and audio controls
You can use this button to scroll through the center screen
Scrolling down through different menus and then going left and right as well. You can see different things go through your information
Look at performance. You can scroll as well different temperatures and pressures your battery
many different things like that the tires are cold right now and
Then going back over your music your navigation your phone and then different options like that on the left side of the gauges
We have your tachometer some temperatures up top and a compass and then your speedometer on the right side
We also have your rev matching down here
You can just click this and it'll engage and then turn it on and off over here on the left
We have your heads-up display setting and then as it focus you'll be able to get a good look at it
We have your tachometer in color as well
Your G's as well as your speed and then over on the left side
We have one of the air vents twisting it will close and open it
Which is a nice little touch coming along the dash has a nice aggressive bezel above the gauges
Very clean looking dash super minimalistic
We have some black leather and some gray stitching along the dash as well then coming to the touchscreen navigation system
Hitting the home button. We have many different settings your Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Of course your audio controls Wi-Fi
And then you can scroll over to your climate and see different settings like that
You can see where all the air is directed
What is on and off more controls below that then all your climate controls are located right here
Really cool. Actually this you spin left and right and that actually changes the temperature
You even have an LCD screen to correspond to that and then over on the right side
This is how you change your fan speed you get a little screen as well
And your recirc AC all the different buttons your defogger
You the alcantara on the shift knob as well as the shifter boot very easy to engage each gear short shifter
Extremely precise nice weighted shift knob to give you a lot of control your mode selection traction control and electronic parking brake
And then pressing the button right here. We can take a look at the center space
We get a good amount of space in here for maybe some phones and some wallets your two cup holders
And then coming over here. We can take a look at the glove box normal amount of space in there
Then just a quick look at everything
You can see how nicely the door panel fits within the seats. Just giving it a nice sporty appearance. Everything goes together nicely
I think the overall design is really clean in this car and then to go ahead and take a look at the rear seating
I have the front seat set to my position where it was comfortable
Go ahead and put this up to fold the front seat forward and I'm gonna go ahead and hop inside and see what it's like
Back here. Obviously, you're not gonna buy a Camaro to have a full four-seater family sedan. This is a sports car
It is a little cramped back here as you would expect the headroom
You do have to have your head a little bit tight
My knees do fit on the sides of the seat, which isn't too bad and my feet are underneath the seat
So it's actually usable back here, which is really good
You can have a daily drivable performance sports car
But actually use it if you are in a pinch to have people in the back and then to finish it up you can pull
This latch right here and these seats do fold down
You can see how much space you have and it does go right through to the trunk
And then to go ahead and open the trunk
You can either use the key fob the button on the door handle or the button right back here pops nicely
You can just see how much space we have in here pretty good for the overall vehicle with the seats up or down
You definitely have a lot of space in here. All right guys
So we are now out in the 2019 ss first and foremost
These recaro seats are awesome. Probably my favorite part of it. Very very comfortable
They go up your leg a nice amount. So you really feel like you're cradled inside the car. The bolsters do a great job
There's really not much wiggle room in them. I definitely love that
That is probably a must for this car
The Alcantara steering wheel is really nice to hold just gives you a lot of control on it
And then of course the shifter as well with the active rev matching on going into gears
You can hear a rev match, which is a nice touch. So right now I'm just in the normal comfort tour mode
It's pretty comfortable. You know, I'm not on the worst road. I'm not on the best road either just taking some slow turns
You know did absorb some bumps nicely. It can be driven just like your normal car
This really is just a daily drivable sports car. And then of course, we're gonna have more fun though
Putting it into sport mode the exhaust valves open and hear it a little bit better
The rev matching sounds even more aggressive now and then for a small acceleration
Very very meaty car it definitely sounds really good
You
So fuel rev matches
It crackles and pops just a little bit so they go in through a turn a little bit quicker
Steering is really direct. You really don't have to put much input in it for it to do what you want to do
It's a smaller steering wheel too. So just gives it that nice performance feel to it
Coming from 6th to 4th those rev matches, man
That is a good sounding car. We'll do another quick acceleration second gear
Such a good sound I also love having the heads-up display
It's really easy to see the color display on it as well
I can see the tack in the speed really nicely and then even when you take a turn you can see the G meter change
Which is pretty cool and it also does show you your gear
But then we'll tone it back down now go back into touring mode just kind of cruising, you know as a normal car
It's actually really comfortable. There's not really any tire noise or wind noise or anything like that
Cruising around 50 miles an hour right now
But it's just a car you can just kind of drive and then the overall visibility
I like the way Camaro looks from the inside. It's just super aggressive looking out the windshield
It's a little bit narrower than similar cars in its class, but it just gives you a really aggressive cool
Look look up your left and right shoulder. It's pretty good visibility
The seat pillars a little bit larger compared to other cars, but with your mirrors adjusted correctly
I really don't see that being an issue looking over your right shoulder. It's pretty good
But then the overall cockpit view of seeing the steering wheel and everything
I like the layout a lot the steering wheel looks fantastic and I love holding it with the Alcantara
Shifter is in a great spot really easy to maneuver and then all the climate controls radio and everything like that
It's just a simple car to use. They didn't clutter the interior with a million buttons everywhere. They just made it very simple
So now into track mode
The overrun on the engine the exhaust just pops well, it takes them a little bit higher speed turns now see what it's like
Very balanced and linear power man
Wow, but when you're taking on some turns the steering it feels a lot tighter now actually in track mode
We go back to touring mode just to see the difference
So yeah, we'll go back into track mode
That is definitely a nice mode to drive and it seems very very performance oriented as the name of the mode would indicate
But in track mode now
Everything about it. It's just balanced to drive. It's fun to drive the Brembo brakes
They're gonna do what they need to do
So just playing with a few of the settings going through the modes from tour sport to track mode
It changes a lot
It actually changes the steering the suspension the throttle control and everything like that and then on the infotainment screen as well
You can go through all that and change it to really customize the settings that you're gonna want
Rev matching so definitely in track mode. Wow, the steering is a lot heavier in track mode
Well, it's really nice to play with the different settings
This is a car that can be configured to how you're gonna drive it
Which is something I really like in sports cars
You can drive it like normal
lighter steering wheel less throttle response just kind of tone down and then you can crank up to the full potential and just have an
Absolute blast in it. So coming up. We've got a sharper turn
Third gear light on the brakes. The steering is so direct
Plenty of power to get you out of the turn
And this thing is so plant. I think Chevrolet just did a really good job with the newer generation Camaro
They made this a true performance sports car. It's not just a muscle car. That is good in a straight line
It's a car you can obliterate the track with obviously we've seen the numbers with the zl1
That is an absolute track weapon and then the SS as well pretty much similar to the zl1 just without the supercharger
But this thing has so much potential with it
That sound
Those brambles do such a good job
And I like how in between shifts there's not really a power delay a lot of manuals
Sometimes there's that split-second delay between shifts this one. It just seems really easy to carry the power
Really easy to flick a downshift
So parking lot speed now still in track mode
You can definitely feel how tight the steering is it almost feels like there's no power steering like in a Lotus Elise or something
That is a nice touch and then the backup camera. The graphics are really really good. That is super HD
And then starting on a hill there. This actually does have hill start assist, which is also a nice touch
But back to the fun things
That VA is so smooth
Wow, that is that is a good sounding factory exhaust that is really impressive
I think that is about wrapping it up for the 2019 Camaro SS
I am really really impressed with this thing
Especially this spec the exterior finished off in the orange with all the satin black accents. Just give it an aggressive look
I absolutely love the way this thing looks the interior
This is the spec to get the bucket seats their car seats are just fantastic in a sit-in so much grip
I'm not sliding around at all taking some turns in this thing the steering wheel the shifter
Everything is just in the right spot
The view out is just an aggressive fun to drive car and really is a lot different than the competitors
Sound though, I cannot get over that but that is about it for the 2019 Camaro massive
