RENTING A PRIVATE ISLAND IN THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 ISLAND TOUR (EL NIDO)

Good morning everyone here from subaltern. I just woke up, carol's still in bed I think. I just decided to come down to one of the beach huts chilling the hammock here. We're gonna be leaving soon from Tappik which is the place where we've been staying. It's been a really raw few days so I think the last two days we didn't have any water in our shower. Not sure if something broke or something like that but yeah we had a shower with a bucket and stuff which is fine we've done that before but yeah we did pay for a shower so I'm not sure if something's broken. Yeah this place is really cool and laid back but definitely only for backpackers. Backpackers only I would say. Spending the last few moments chilling on the beach here. Tide's super high today so there's barely any beach and we're actually on the east side of the island so we don't get the sunsets but we had the craziest sky yesterday over there. We put it on instagram so I can show you some of the clips but I don't think I've ever seen a sky like that when you're at the opposite side so yeah that was a really beautiful last day. And today we're gonna be heading to a private island so we're really excited about that where only me and carol are gonna be staying and it's very close to here so soon we're just gonna have breakfast and stuff and then I think we gotta drive to a port and then they're gonna pick us up by boat and take us there and we're gonna be spending two nights there. So before we head out I want to show you this big lizard, check this guy out. So funny story, I was editing the video yesterday back there then all of a sudden something fell from the roof, smacked on my chair then when I look behind he's there and I think he's injured now but yeah big lizard fell from the ceiling they don't usually fall so I don't know what's what's wrong with him but yeah it caught me by surprise so we just arrived in the coastal village where we've got to wait to get picked up so this place is called tenigwiban and this is the the garage of the owners there so they told us to come here so that we can park the scooter. Right now it's locked so yeah I guess he's coming to unlock it. Super local village though, check this out. I think there's a church ceremony going on oh the coast is actually right here, want to check it out? get my bags all right so we just met up with the guys that brought the boat for us they all live on the island I think they said and this is our little ride here nice beach right? yeah beautiful beach, super clean how many minutes is it to the island? 15. 15 minutes? oh very close all right touchdown. oh we got island dogs bonus hey there buddy how you doing? oh so even cloudy really white sand right? yeah and the water is beautiful. yeah yeah so this is our island for two days, looks incredible already. oh cool got the kayaks there check this out, make a big bed yeah so i didn't even tell you the name of the island yet, this is called brother island so that's the name of the island that we come to, it's right at the north of el nido i can probably show you on a map. all right i think this is our spot right? top of the hill. all right so now that we've checked in properly i'll take you on a tour of the room, it's way more insane than i was expecting. we hadn't really seen pictures of the place we were staying, only drone shots of the island so yeah we had no idea it would be this good and we're paying 50 dollars a night, that's covid price, this would obviously be way way way way more than that, over 100 easily and that also includes three meals so yeah the breakfast, lunch and dinner. anyway i'll take you on a tour now. so this is the honeymoon suite, that's what we're staying in and i think there's two trails to the beach side, it's very close it's like a minute so either that way, we came up this way here, that's the the mainland over there where we came from and look at this it's like on top of some tree, there's some original rock going into our building, that looks crazy. on this side as well there's also some epic views, it's not even sunny right now but that water looks an amazing color even without the sun, this tree looks awesome as well and yeah here's the inside, so it looks really beautiful wooden nippah hut style ceiling i don't even know what we've got here, got a guitar. you want to play guitar carol? yes. got some drumsticks as well. what else have we got? okay the water, little fan here as well. i don't think it's ac right? yeah we're right here, you don't need an ac or fan. really nice bed here. oh there's a fan over there okay. yeah so really nice big bed, got the mosquito net, can probably actually sleep with the windows open right? yeah if we have the mosquito net it should be fine. yeah we're excited to see so loads of places to sit and then outside look at this for a view, so just some amazing areas to sit down and look out. got another little island over there maybe we could kayak around that i don't think there's any beaches there but probably good for snorkeling. oh and another island, okay that's a big one and i think that's part of the the mainland there. yeah this is crazy so i think he said he's gonna bring the breakfast here in the morning so we can have breakfast wherever we want around here and then lunch and dinner is in the main building right? yeah i think they they're gonna set the table on the beach. yeah we'll find out. yeah and then down here is the the bathroom so got a cool natural bathroom all open yeah very nice so oh this is the same rock and the tree that we saw from the entrance so yeah really cool and there you go you can do your business with a view, pretty crazy. yeah i can already say this is one of the best places that we've ever stayed by far, way better than i expected yeah i wasn't expecting anything like this. i knew it would be good because of the reviews that we read online but it's better than we expected for sure. take the drone for a flight now, see how this side of the island looks and then yeah we'll just see what we do. we've got tomorrow here full day so i think tomorrow we'll probably do like the kayaks. yeah maybe go to an island. yeah an island. let's go snorkeling. on the mainland all that area coming up was absolutely beautiful, all untouched, just many many beaches. i think we could probably kayak to a beach because it's not that far so yeah just what a place. this really is unbelievable. our first time ever staying on a private island. yeah first time ever so it's coffee? yeah. coffee cream. okay thank you very much. Salvador just brought us some coffee yes. oh yeah? i said in portuguese. yes. okay i need to land my drone now. oh if you want coffee yeah. are you gonna drink some? yes. the drone shots look pretty cool. the island is unbelievable so the drone flight is complete, this is the mavic air. i've mentioned it before but people always ask me what drone i use so yeah this little guy and i'll get the front of the island tomorrow probably. what a view though, i can't get over this. check it out there and see the rain. might actually be nice being inside here when it's raining, looking outside. we'll see how it goes oh this was the coffee? yeah. oh nice big jug. some cream as well. it's kind of funny on our channel because we do kind of mix it up a bit right with the accommodation but i think that's actually good to show a bit of both sides so yeah some nice places but also some very like backpacker places on a beach. so me and carl are gonna see if we're able to go down and swim around these rocks here at the side of our little suite. this is the other trail we came on the opposite side of the little island before. i think these rocks would be nice though. the island is bigger than it seems from the mainland. there is another place over there it's like a big house for a bigger group. if you're coming with a big group you stay there, if you come with a couple you stay here. i think it's like that. i think there's a trail down here. yeah down here so that's one of the amazing looking beaches that we was talking about before just seems to be a little local village just a few houses there so i think we can probably kayak tomorrow right? so close i think less than 10 minutes something? 15. so check it out that's the place that we're staying so it's on top of all these rocks there it's a huge rock. must have been some effort to build that. yeah i think so. yeah so i think we're gonna enter this part now. oh loads of crabs and is that jumping fish on the rock? so it's a pretty cool snorkeling spot. it was nice right? yeah very. yeah beautiful blue color and it's pretty much like all these rocks but underwater so it was just awesome swimming between the rocks and stuff like that. really nice place. so we're trying the shortcut back to our place right up the side of the hill, rock climbing. all right carol went this way. so we're just heading to the beach now because that's where we're gonna be having lunch at 2pm. we don't even know what we're gonna be eating right? no but we told them what we don't eat. yeah i would like to eat some fish today hopefully. they cook some fish. take a quick look at the beach again. it is actually a really big beach. like carol said before this island's a lot bigger than we thought it would be. so we thought the beach was quite small but as you can see loads of sand here, broken up corals. probably one of some of the whitest sand that we've seen around here in el nido. i think so. loads of cool places to chill out here though, the hammocks are everywhere. i like this one. gonna have to have a lie down here. how cool does that look? small little chunky palm tree. he knows it's food time. yes i think this is the other spot that people can stay as well if you're in a bigger group. this big yellow house. check out these nice two fresh looking fish nice big size as well. and then what is this? maybe it's the... i forgot the name. yeah i forgot the name as well. i don't know some tasty vegetables. i'm hungry. i'm starving we filled our plates and as you can see there's still loads of rice, more than half and probably more than half of the vegetables as well. so yeah it's looking like we're gonna be treated well here. and yeah carol gets this awesome view of the beach. i got this awesome view of carol. me and carol are absolutely stuffed now but in a good way. time for a nap. yeah carol's gonna nap here. it's good too because when we were in sabautin the last three days they didn't have any restaurants open there so we haven't really been eating that well over there but yeah the food here looks like it's gonna be gonna be great. and me and carol are saying yeah we wish we had probably come here before. maybe even during the lockdown this would have been a great place to be isolated. you have everything you need really, beautiful island, kayaks, great food, amazing snorkeling as well and yeah dogs. and the room's awesome so yeah definitely recommend this place. we've only been here about three or four hours and yeah we're already speaking this highly of it so that's it for this video. in tomorrow's video we're probably gonna do a proper tour of the island, get on the kayak and stuff, probably chill out on the main beach, do snorkeling over there, there's supposed to be a bed of corals over there. there's actually loads of birds here at the moment it's crazy i don't know if you can hear them but so many i don't know what's going on. i don't know if they all gather here or something but yeah it sounds like there's thousands. wow listen to that like hundreds of birds over there. whoa they're all in the palm trees. yeah they're all in these trees there. oh it's non-stop just birds flying. yeah i don't know if that's a thing on this island at sunset time. i guess we'll find out on the next few days. so yeah tomorrow is going to be the proper full tour of the island, we're going to spend time on the beach, do some snorkeling there also get the drone up i really want to film the sandy part, looks like it has beautiful water and we might even kayak to one of the beaches on the other side on the coast. so yeah we're going to do a lot of stuff in that video. so as always just drop a like on the video to help support us subscribe if you like to see more videos like this, follow us on instagram and i'll see you in the next one
