STARTING MY CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME!! | Project Drift - EP. 26

First off of the day, I went to Walmart to pick up some oil because I'm starting my fridge and car today. I am losing it. I can't believe it's gonna be started. Like I'm actually gonna turn it on. Like I'm, I'm kind of freaking out. And now I am pulling up to Garage Life and here she is looking so good. Yes. Oh, this is so sad. I don't want to cut this dash. Why? Have to do it. Just barely. I mean, I definitely needed to, but I was just paranoid it wasn't going to be wide enough. There you go. Wow. There's it. No, this is the first time I wore shoes in here and I just destroyed like the inside already. No. This is going to be a no shoe zone. Tech-o-meter time. I really hope my spacer that I made works. Oh yeah, I can see that. I finally decided I'm just going to mount it at this low point right here. That's like right at the very bottom with my spacer that I made because I can see it right through the wheel. Now I have to go find launder screws that will go through this, through my spacer and through there. The screws that it came with are just way too tiny. I got new screws and now I'm going to have to drill out this hole, make that larger and then put it on. It's working. It fits awesome. So I got the top two bolts in and now I'm just finishing up the bottom two and it'll be in the job. Ow, your nails. I know what you're thinking. You didn't start the party. Not today. Well, I could have is the point. Everything is wired up and we could have started it today but I want to get everything else in place before we do that. When it starts up, I just want to be able to drive it and that's why I'm just going to wait and do it right. One more day guys. One more day. Today I got the belts in. Tomorrow I just have to put anchor posts into the frame for the lap belts and for the crotch belt. We got the dash cut and fitting. We got the tachometer in today and it's really looking like a race car now. Tomorrow my spacers will also be made so that the tires fit properly as well and we're for sure starting the car up this time. Sorry to push it to another day but honestly this is going to be edited into the same video that you're watching right now. So it doesn't even feel like two days to you. It feels like one day to you. So honestly like I'm jealous of you. Hi. Pete wants me to take him out right now. Hi. Tomorrow it shall be started. Spacers. Look how big these are. DK with the spacers. Oh it's going to look so much better. Look at that gap. It's going to be filled. Alright, DK brought the spacers that we had made. These are 45s. We'll see if they work and these are 30s. Spacer time. We're trying the fronts out first? Alright. This wants to rest hopefully. Yes. Thank you Jesus. Yes. So somebody before had already extended the studs? Yeah. Damn. So much better. These are going to stick out a lot now. Yes. Good. Now no one will mess with me during tandem or I'll shank them with my spikes. Nope. Keeping them on. Get my shanks on. I'm going to get launder spikes actually. So you really do some damage? Yes. Dude that's super bright right now. Oh my gosh that is so good. Damn. This doesn't fit. Alright here we go. Action. Come on. The suspense does it. Yes. Much better. A few other updates is I got these SFI G-Force racing pads on here. They look beautiful and match the car. Got one on the other side too. Zip tied all the switches there so for now they don't move everywhere. And we got these installed. So this whole time I haven't had this part on the door. This part of the kit. When I back up you'll see it better. But got these on the door and it's looking good. And the spacers are just incredible. Huge difference. The white just looks so cool on video. There's definitely power there. Why am I so scared right now? I don't know why. Can you take a deep breath? Oh yes. That is the most satisfying sound ever. You gotta add one more motor ground and then we're gonna go for it. What if I pass out? What if literally I start it and I just conk out? If you pass out I'll give you non-stop ----. I mean how sad would that be? I feel like it might happen. Don't pass out. Don't cry. Cool. Good news. Oh my god. It's just been so long. Fuel line good? Yeah, no. Another one's leaking. Oh my god. Another fuel line's leaking? It's because whoever put these fuel lines on didn't clamp them. Wasn't me. Gilbert? Gilbert's not here so it's his fault. Alright, Gilbert. Gilbert's fault. He's not here. Now the fuel pump's super amped. It's showing like a lot more fuel pressure. I should have upgraded the lines when I upgraded the fuel pump. Dangerous props please. No more leaks. If it's not obvious. She's angry. Wait, hold on, hold on. Maybe the ground. Wait, are you sure? Yeah, go for it. I'm not gonna die. It can't do anything. Don't worry. Oh my god. I don't know if I can. I don't know. Okay. Wait, you're being the ground? Yeah, go, go. If he was the power he could get electrocuted but he's the ground so it's fine. Oh my god. Are you sure? I feel like I'm gonna die right here. Maybe if we tighten the battery too. I'm only a little scared because I smell something burning but that would be normal if connections weren't tight. Yeah. Okay. Go for it. Oh yeah. Woohoo. We just started my car today. I can't believe this day has come. I mean obviously I knew this day would come but it's just been such a long journey. I've been pouring my heart and soul out into this car, slaving away, hustling so hard to get to this point that we are at today which was to start the car. You guys, I have a frickin' race car. My dream car is my actual car. What? To have a hands-on role in every single part of getting the car from where it started to where it is now is like so amazing. All this started as was me saying, I'm gonna do it. I told myself, I'm finally gonna do it, I'm gonna dive in and I'm gonna figure it out and that's what I frickin' did and that is why I started my car today. I am so, so thankful to have found Garage Life. They're just so amazing. There's so much knowledge at Garage Life. I've learned so much and I know I'm only just getting started with this build. I'm gonna learn even more with them. I'm just so thankful to have Garage Life. Like DK, Matt, Gilbert, they've all helped so much and I've learned so much in such a small amount of time. I mean, I know to me this feels like I've been waiting for this day forever but really I've only just started doing these videos consistently like the past five months. I could never have done this without Garage Life, without DK, without Matt, without Gilbert. I'm so excited for us as a team.
