This time I'll be turning right, third exit.
So center mirror, right mirror, signaling right,
moving over to the right-hand lane,
sliding down, selecting gear two.
Hey guys, welcome to another video.
I hope you're all well.
So in this video, I'm going to go through
most of the topics that you will come across
on your driving test.
So we're gonna start off with some moving off and stopping,
and we'll do some T-junctions,
some crossroads, roundabouts, and so on.
So what I'm going to do, I'm going to demonstrate
and talk through what I'm doing.
So hopefully this will help you guys.
I did a similar video about 18 months ago,
and a lot of you found that really helpful.
So hopefully you will find this helpful too.
And any of you that want more detailed help
with every single topic required to pass a driving test,
then you can download my course,
which is the Ultimate Driving Course.
It will definitely help you save time
and money on driving lessons.
So on your driving test, the examiner will ask you
to park up and move off around three times.
So I'm gonna show you how to move off first.
So the first thing you do is clutch fully down,
select first gear, set the gas to around 1,500 revs,
and look for the biting point
by bringing the clutch up around halfway.
So our car's prepared to move off now.
Now, start your observation from the left blind spot,
check your left mirror, look ahead,
check your center mirror, right mirror, right shoulder,
apply the signal, check that right shoulder,
the blind spot again, just before moving off.
Release the handbrake, slowly come off the clutch pedal
and gently accelerate and get your normal driving position,
which is about a meter away from the curb.
And now to stop the car,
check the center mirror, left mirror, signal left,
get the parking position, gently brake,
clutch pedal fully down, and once you've stopped,
handbrake up, select neutral, cancel the signal,
and you can rest your feet.
So that's how you move off and stop the vehicle.
Okay, now I'm going to be emerging left at a T-junction.
So it's center mirror, left mirror, signaling left,
keeping my normal driving position, gently braking,
and as this is a closed junction, selecting gear one,
getting my position, looking right, left, right again,
it's safe to go.
So I'm going to slowly bring the clutch,
gently accelerate, and check my mirrors as I speed up.
Now I'll be emerging right at a T-junction,
so center mirror, right mirror, signaling right,
getting my position close to the center white line,
gently braking, and selecting gear one
as I have to give way, checking both sides,
I'm waiting for a safe gap, and now there's a safe gap.
So gently accelerating, bringing the clutch up,
and once I'm into the new road,
check my mirrors as I speed up.
Now this time, I'll be approaching a T-junction to the left.
So center mirror, left mirror, signal left,
keep my normal position, gently brake
to slow down for the turn, select gear two
as I have priority, clutch back up,
look into the road, follow the curb,
not too much gas yet, once I know it's safe,
check my mirrors, and then accelerate.
Now I'll be approaching a turn to the right,
so center mirror, right mirror, signaling right,
getting my position nice and close
to the center white line, slowing down,
selecting gear two as there's no oncoming cars,
bringing the clutch pedal up, looking into the road,
and turning onto my side of the road,
making sure I didn't steer too early or too late,
and if there was an oncoming vehicle,
I would have stopped and selected first gear.
Here now, I can see a sign, a warning triangle,
that there's a crossroad, so even though I have priority,
I'm gonna be a bit cautious,
just checking the right and left,
making sure no cars are pulling out.
Okay, so I'll be turning left
at a traffic light control crossroad,
so center mirror, left mirror, signaling left,
obviously the lights are red, so I'll need to stop.
When the lights turn green, I will have priority,
so I can continue, just need to be cautious
of any vehicles that are coming from ahead
that wanna turn right into the same road
that I'm turning into, that don't go across my path,
and also, at a crossroad like this,
just watch out for any emergency vehicles
that may be coming across.
So I can see the lights on the left and right
have just changed, so my lights are going to turn green,
and so that black car will stop for me, and I can continue.
And when going straight ahead
at a traffic light control crossroad,
you have priority just to be cautious
of any emergency vehicles or any vehicles
that are turning right and cutting across your path.
This time at the traffic lights, I'll be turning right,
so checking my center and right mirror,
signaling right, positioning close to the center white line,
so I'm in a good position to turn right,
and also anybody that's continuing straight ahead
or turning left has got enough space
on the left there as well.
So I'm gonna use the handbrake
because the lights have just turned red,
and I'm gonna select gear one, so I'm ready to move.
Now, when turning right, I have to wait
for any oncoming vehicles that wanna continue straight ahead.
So we can see that white van,
and that white van is turning right so we can continue.
If there were any oncoming vehicles,
we would have waited there until there was a safe gap,
and watching the new road, remember the mirrors.
So ahead, we have parked cars on our side of the road,
and we have oncoming vehicles.
There's enough space.
The oncoming vehicles do have priority.
I'm gonna check my center and right mirror,
move over to the right a little bit,
and make sure there's enough space for the car doors,
the parked car doors to open.
And we're moving back to the left,
checking my center and left mirror.
Obviously, if the gap was too narrow,
then I would have had to stop.
Okay, so now there's an oncoming vehicle,
so I'll have to stop
because the parked vehicles are on my side of the road.
So I'll stop in a position where it doesn't look
as if you're parked up and you're close to the center,
and then before moving off,
check your center and right mirror,
make sure nobody's overtaking.
Obviously, that car's moved off now as well.
So always get this kind of position
so it's quite clear that you're not parked up.
And center mirror and right mirror, I'm moving off.
So ahead, there's a lorry parking up on our right,
and there's a junction on our left.
I'm going to anticipate people pulling out the junction,
and these guys coming towards my side,
so I'm gonna ease off the gas.
So any situations where you can see a hazard ahead,
just anticipate people, just like they're pulling out,
and ease off the gas a little to make sure it's safe.
Okay, so as I'm going over this hill now,
I can see that van was just braking,
so I'm gonna anticipate traffic building up,
so I'm going to ease off the gas,
and check what's going on behind me,
then start braking.
And when stopping,
not getting too close to the vehicle in front,
we can see keep clear markings on the floor
just for that entrance on our left there,
so leaving enough space.
Ahead, we have traffic lights,
and there's traffic building up,
so I'll have to stop at the lights
behind the other vehicles.
So checking my center mirror, gently braking,
clutch fully down,
and I'm going to select gear one,
and because I'm waiting in traffic,
I can put the handbrake up,
this will allow me to get my foot ready on the gas,
and if you feel you wanna rest your foot
because the lights might take a while,
you can select neutral and take your foot off.
But if you're not sure,
then always be ready, prepared in gear one,
so you're ready to move off,
so you don't rush.
And we're moving off in traffic,
check both your side mirrors,
make sure there's no cyclists,
and then move off.
I'll be turning left at the roundabout,
so center mirror, left mirror,
signaling left, staying in the left lane,
slowing down, selecting gear two,
looking to the right,
bringing that clutch up,
and I can see a safe gap after this car,
so I'm going to continue,
and following the curb,
checking my center mirror and right mirror
as I accelerate.
Okay, now I'll be continuing
straight ahead at the roundabout,
so I need to go into the middle lane.
I'm canceling my signal
because I'm going straight ahead,
I'm gonna slow down,
select gear two, looking to the right,
it's safe to enter.
Once I enter the roundabout,
I'm gonna keep to the left,
and once I get to the first exit,
checking my center mirror, left mirror,
and then exiting the roundabout,
keeping into my lane,
and before speeding up,
checking my mirrors.
This time I'll be going straight ahead
at the roundabout,
so I'm checking my mirrors,
and I'll need to move over
into the middle lane for this.
There's no need for a signal
because no one's behind me,
and if I did signal,
I would cancel it now
because I'm continuing straight ahead,
and because there's vehicles ahead,
I don't have to stop,
I'm selecting gear one,
and I'm looking to the right,
it's safe to go,
so I've entered the roundabout,
keeping to the left now,
that left lane's filtered off to the left,
checking my center mirror, left mirror
as I pass the first exit,
and then exiting straight ahead.
This time I'll be turning right,
third exit,
so center mirror, right mirror,
signaling right,
moving over to the right-hand lane,
sliding down,
selecting gear two,
this time there's another vehicle
approaching on the roundabout,
so I'm selecting gear one,
I'm waiting for a safe gap,
and I can see a gap,
so I'm going to enter the roundabout,
staying to the right,
this is exit one,
checking my mirrors,
making sure I know what's on my left-hand side,
exit two,
checking my mirrors,
signaling left,
and then moving over to the left
because I can see it's safe
to exit the roundabout.
So I really hope that you guys found that useful,
good luck to everyone
who's got their driving test coming up soon,
and like always,
don't forget to like and subscribe,
and thank you to all of you
who have been supporting the channel.
I'll see you in the next video.
