Hey there, fellow travelers.
Mark here with Walter's World, and today we're here at LAX.
And I think now that I've got my backs dropped off, and I've got
my boarding passes, and I'm ready to get in the airport, I
think it's time we can talk about three ways that you could
piss off Californians when you visit California, because I
don't want you to upset the locals anywhere you go.
So I thought it was good to have a list of some things you need
to watch out for.
Okay, and I think the first thing and probably the most
dangerous thing to say is if you diss In-N-Out Burger, I mean,
In-N-Out Burger is a religion here.
Like, people will go to bat for it.
They will say, look, you don't just look at the menu, you do
the double double, you get animal style, you go four by
four, get the Flying Dutchman, like, people are so passionate
about it.
And if you even think about dissing it or saying, well, it's
not the best burger ever, oh, people will go off on you.
Okay, so just be ready to just be like, hey, it's not bad.
And if you honestly, if you don't like it, may I suggest
going with the secret menu, get the animal sauce, then ask for
the fries to get extra crispy, have them get a little bit
longer, you'll be fine.
But really, dissing, dissing In-N-Out Burger, guaranteed way
to piss them off.
Okay, second thing you do to piss off somebody from
California is say that California is all the same.
It's just like surfer stuff.
And that's it.
That is the farthest thing from the truth.
And Californians will tell you that.
They will let you know that look, we've got sunny, amazing,
fantastic beaches here in the south.
We've got Pacific Northwest-y kind of stuff in the north.
You've got Northern California, Southern California, you got the
Central Coast, you got the Sierra Nevada, you have deserts,
you have so much stuff here that it's not just one California.
There's so much more to California than just your
stereotypical kind of, you know, surfer dude kind of thing.
So that will upset them if you say that.
So remember, California is so varied with people and food and
geography and elevation and everything that you're sure
gonna upset them if you think it's all one California.
And the third thing that will upset them when you come here
is if you say, oh, everybody that lives in California is
either in, in Hollywood and the entertainment industry, or
they're a tech gazillionaire.
Look, that is the farthest thing from the truth.
I have been here for quite some time, and I've seen zero
celebrities, and I've seen zero tech millionaires, all right?
California is a huge state with a variety of people.
And when you go around the state, you will see way more
than, you know, starlets and surfer dudes and stuff and tech
people.
There is everybody here.
And that's what's so great about California is you have such a
wide variety of people to meet and enjoy when you're here.
So get out, don't let those stereotypes get to you about
California that you see on TV and the news and movies and
stuff like that, because this state is fantastic.
So, uh, but just know, you might upset people if you do those
three things.
All right.
So remember, don't diss In-N-Out, all right?
Don't say it's all one state, and definitely don't believe
those stereotypes that everyone's just a starlet
waiting to make it big.
Oh, no, no.
California is so much more, and Californians are so much more.
Anyway, I got to catch my flight here at LAX.
I wish y'all the best.
Bye.
