The Common Dwarf Mongoose

Beautiful dwarf mongoose. They've taken over this termite mound. This is an abandoned termite mound. Termites now are no longer there. Yeah, they have now taken it over. So there are a lot of tunnels and chambers right deep inside the termite mound. So it's like a big hotel for them with lots and lots of rooms. So they are now basking on the sun, enjoying the last light. What do they eat? They eat insects, they eat beetles, they eat earthworms and their main enemies is the eagles. Yeah, eagles take them. They may look smaller but they can kill any snake of any size. They kill cobras, they kill pythons, they kill mambas. This is home for them. As soon as they see enemies, they all get into the termite mound. So you can see how termites are so important in the ecosystem. Yeah, they don't only create mounds for islands, they also create homes for other creatures. So they are going to live in this area for a long time up until they get chased away by either maybe a monitor lizard or honeybird. Yeah, these are the dwarf mongoose. Yeah, we hardly see them and I'm surprised to see. Yeah, dwarf mongoose are smaller than the banded mongoose.
