Juventus vs Chivas Guadalajara 2-0 Extended Highlights & Goals - 23rd July 2022

So, Juventus will undoubtedly act as the away team, as you say today. A cacophony of noise inside the stadium. The majority supporting those in red and white. But with regards to the opponent today, Matt, Juventus, it's been an intriguing last couple of years for them, finishing fourth in Serie A over the last two campaigns, losing the league title to both Milan clubs. A starting XI with a mixture of experience and youth. No doubt, Matt Lawrence, the majority watching on around the world will, I'm assuming, be of the opinion that it's very good to have Paul Pogba back in Juventus' colours. Yeah, look, Manchester United fans are probably going to be looking through the cracks of their fingers, because they know they're going to see a regenerated, a rejuvenated, a refocused Paul Pogba. As for the line-up for Chivas Guadalajara, unsurprisingly, Matt, as you mentioned, after a nil-nil tie against Club Allianz on Wednesday, XI adjustments, a starting XI full of intrigue. Yeah, it really does, and look, these are lesser players. These are players who play predominantly in the reserves. We've got a number of players out there who have only got a few minutes of Liga MX's action under them. And so, away we go. One fresh, vibrant, re-equipped. And a clip forward to the back post caused a moment of question for the Juve back line. Eventual champions, Atlas, and they have an opening here. Decent ball played across goal, and it required an intervention, which came from Juan Cuadrado. Yeah, and Cuadrado, it is, who turns it back. Q from Juventus, picked up by Di Maria. Lovely ball off the forward, Keane. And Pogba needed saving. Rangel there to push the ball away. Pogba looks in the mood tonight, Matt. Yes, he really does. He just gets the ball out of his feet with the outside. Lovely turn from him. Di Maria's enticing ball in. Behind for a corner. Sharp box corner kick, Juventus. Di Maria's ball in. Hits the woodwork and in. Less than ten minutes played in Las Vegas. Juventus have themselves the lead. They took a gamble at the far post. And boy, did it pay off for them. The youngster with the goal. Here they come from an attacking point of view. It's Paul Pogba. Stern challenge that was missed in consideration. Whipped ball in. Juventus able to... May offer something here. A rather stubborn Juventus back line. Angled ball forward. And now it's still Pogba. Unable to test the goalkeeper. But behind for a corner. Well, the two freebies have been at the heart of absolutely everything good for Juventus. Di Maria and Pogba have been fined a number of things that he wants to work on. That is very, very nearly a spectacular moment for Juventus. And in particular, Fascioli in the centre of midfield. Well, he'll also want to be working on his long range shooting. And just make sure that shots go on target. But I joke, this is magnificent. It really is. The strike there on a rope. Just a yard off target from Fascioli. Here come Chivas Guadalajara. Effort towards goal. It's the first time he's really been tested here this evening. And signs of life in front of goal from Chivas Guadalajara. At the other end now, here's Di Maria. Running it to the referee. Who has to stop the play. Sandro. Just away from the grasp of Angeldi Maria. Here's Paul Pogba. Unable to squeeze through. Players behind the ball so often here. Really difficult to break down. Cisneros! A very warm welcome back to El Ejien Stadium. The second most expensive stadium in the world. Here in Las Vegas, Nevada. The second half just moments away. Between Chivas Guadalajara and Juventus. As it stands, it's the team from Serie A. Offering every single blade of this pitch here. And he looked quite fantastic going. And perhaps an early opening for Juventus. Pellegrini, lovely cross. Glance towards the back of course. With the expectation of scoring goals. Perhaps an opening here for Chivas. Behind for a corner. Here they come pressing forward. And perhaps a chance to interrogate here. A deflected effort. Easily into the grass. We see about Chivas Guadalajara. It opens up here! Perhaps their best opening of the game. Cisneros, the man who was ever so unfortunate in his efforts. Look at his strike here. The left footed side. Perez on the far side. Intervention. Came in once again. Into the path of the goalkeeper. The referee has indeed brought it back. And has clearly seen something. It will be Cisneros! Well it got its just rewards I think. That free kick. Ball only. Finding Pellegrini with the ball in. How to go short. Vega! Still not cleared away. Effort towards goal is awkward. And it's skipped up off the surface. Ravello. Lovely ball slipped through. Perhaps another opening for Juve. Thomas Unam. Player down the right hand side. Mozzo's ball in. The effort lashed towards goal. Takes a deflection. Here come Juve again! Really well taken goal. The young guns of Juventus firing in the second half. And the side from Italy. Now find comfort with a second goal. 2-0. Well that will certainly keep the younger players happy here. I mentioned they looked a little bit disjointed. But they win the ball really well here in the centre of the park.
