Gorilla Gorilla - Damian Aspinall & Kifu at Howletts Wild Animal Park, Kent

This is Kifu. He's the silverback in this family. I'm saying hello. He's surrounded by his wives and his children. He's very good-natured. No problem. Sometimes likes to play and have a tickle. Sometimes he just wants to sit back and relax. Sometimes he likes to play chase, but he looks a bit tired today. You're a lovely boy. Yes, you are. Yes, you are. You're a lovely boy. This is his son and his daughter. This is Sang. That's his little boy there, Kangoo. Yes, come on. No, you can't pull my beard. He thinks he's tickling me now. He thinks I'm an honorary gorilla, I suppose. Friend of the family. Good friend. There's no doubt he'd protect me if someone attacked me, as I would him, undoubtedly. This is a command to stroke his back. Yeah, it's a gurgle there. Contentment. Making a nest. Keeps him nice and warm. I mean, all animals are like humans, you know. Every hundred humans, you know, there's one or two percent, or possibly even more, are unpleasant and untrustworthy. And, you know, a few percent are absolutely gentle and very sweet. Keith is very, very gentle. I mean, he's a wild gorilla, so he lets me know he's boss.
