The throw is very important. First thing you have to do is get your dog's favorite toy.
As you can see right here, we've got that guy again.
With that throw, you want that thing out in front of that dog.
You want your dog stretching, stretching for that in the air.
So your throw is high, it's far, it's straight down the middle.
But just too far, too early, your dog loses track.
The perfect throw is the one that's six inches in front of that dog,
and now they're launching into the pool.
The distances, when I find out, kind of keep you abreast of what's happening.
It's like stretching for that, and didn't lose contact.
That throw was a little bit high for the dog, but watching the instant replay,
Hydra had vision, eyes locked on that toy, looking for it. That helps.
And we're at 26 feet, 7 inches.
For the locals.
I want to tell you later, when Big Grizz helped him out a lot,
look how tall this dog is.
This dog was built for this exact event.
Big Grizz for a reason.
Can we lose contact real quick?
He's under the stage, he's under the stairs.
Tony, you might have to go in. Oh, there he is.
And guess what? 33 inches.
28 feet, not an effort, 28 feet.
Come on, Jane.
Get it, Jane.
And watching the instant replay, you can see Jane wasn't even looking at the pupper,
just looking at the water.
But once you hear his pulse is out, it gives them no reason to jump out.
This is competition.
And there's an accent, and here's a border collie.
A well-known Carolina.
Looks like they may have a slip.
84 inches.
Parky, here.
78 inches.
Pretty high, pretty far.
Hi, girl.
Look at me, Dad.
Oh, hi.
Come on, Jane.
Come on, girl. Come on, Jane.
Body rolls.
28 feet.
I said, Big Reds is built for this event.
Great pulse.
Oh, yeah.
Chris.
Chris, come on, let's go. Chris.
Chris.
Come on, Chris.
They have a lot of dogs in there.
Ready?
Sit, sit.
Stretch out, baby.
There you go.
Yeah.
Here we go.
Come on.
Head it up.
That's it.
That energy.
27 feet, 11 inches.
Right in the mix.
We got Jared and Jane.
And Jane being set up.
Make some noise for those two up there.
Oh, go, go, go, go.
Three inches, but still 18 feet.
From 18.
Tanisha and Bender.
You guys had a nice one.
28 feet, 12 inches, first time around.
Ready?
Bring it.
Okay.
Oh, my gosh.
Great.
I tossed that thing out there.
This dog just flies.
A lot of fun to learn how to do that.
Nice looking jump.
29 feet.
Beautiful.
We're going to do our consolations right now.
Obviously, big Grinch still holding the lead.
But then a lot of jumps in the 29 foot range.
So very nice.
Nice.
All right.
Looks like seven of our dogs qualified
for their third and final jump
based on consolations.
Hey, crowd, are you guys liking what you're seeing
out here today?
Good.
Love that.
All right.
Come on, Chrissy.
Come on.
Ready?
Come on, buddy.
26 feet, 11 inches.
Three dogs
still get to jump.
Try to bust a big one out.
It's going to have to be a big one.
They're on the stage.
Good job.
Great job today.
Two dogs.
Get to go.
That's a reward for all of us.
Come on.
