It's time to go estate sale shopping. Let's go baby. It's Friday our favorite day to go hunting for estate sales Estate sales barn sales and junk stores. Nothing's off-limits Pickens not just for the boys anymore. We're Laura and Selena two best friends with two very different styles But one passion we want to inspire you to find your own unique style through secondhand finds Join us as we hit the road for undiscovered treasures on the recycled life Hey, so we sadly have no new episode this week, but it's because it's both of our birthday we Today is Selena's birthday. Happy birthday, and mine was on Wednesday. And so we took the week off of editing But we are filming today. We are in line for a state So and this is the best line I've had in a long time I Looks like we're like first in line and then there's hardly anything in there. No jewelry in the advertised jewelry Alright we didn't get much there, but I did get some pretty little beads Look at these turquoise things. I got this whole bag. It was a dollar fifty So it's not bad. These are gonna be fun for the next jewelry making episode I thought I can make some cool little turquoise bits. This one was a dollar at least we got something there I mean we didn't walk away completely empty-handed So these will make some pretty necklaces and it's perfect because we're gonna do another jewelry episode soon Just arriving at our second estate sale, and I don't think Selena's here. I don't see her car But it started about 15 minutes ago, and there's not a ton of cars here. So we'll see how how it is when we get inside Yeah, this is Today this is my birthday today And Laura and I like we love looking for junk and we go out for lunch on our birthdays we did this last year Yeah, it's a state sale season you guys the weather is good It's early spring and it's Friday, which is the best day to start going to a state sale It's always the things you want Textiles $30 though Selena might like some of these things in here. Selena Little side chair be cute This jacket part off the dress ready the top for sure how much is it though some of the suckers What's it say Everything's under five bucks. Oh, I'll take it for under five bucks. Which one I got I can't wait to show you He's pretty I got the whole basket for $10 Pretty pretty pillowcases a shawl a shirt for my mom And I think some other little things. All right, you guys want to go to a car haul in the car? Where'd you park over there? Did you did you know there was a fan inside? When I was in line checking out a girl, you know when I was in line checking out someone goes I love your YouTube show. Did you catch her name? No, I didn't I got you embarrassed I got like bright red and got all shy. Oh, well, thanks for saying hi friend. Yes. Thanks for saying hi It was nice to meet you This one was an estate sale that said everything was vintage and it was really fun because the garage was loaded with stuff in the entire house and Where's that? I just want to show you an example really quick like lots of the things that were in the sale the lady Who passed away? Had all these info sheets on everything with who made them where they came from and how old it was. So that was pretty amazing That's cute This for the casino, yeah In the garage you guys don't ever forget to do this So when stuff is like on tables look underneath the tables because they're like totes of stuff, especially at this sale So you got a yellow pull them out dig get in there So I did I got down and I dug girl and there was a whole thing of all these like beautiful linens So these are pillowcases look at the work on that super pretty. This is a cool puzzle It looks very Danish, but it actually says that it's like 1981 So it's not that old but it looks mid-century Danish to me. And I thought this was kind of fun. There's a little camel in there All right, let's see how it works Laura put it all together Together. Give me just a second. Oh This one is very cool. I Should have kept the piece of paper that was in there, but it said this shawl was from the 1800s It's got some issues obviously because it's so old But you can at least try to clean it look it's stunning how much was that one? I got the whole basket for ten bucks. So what are they like two dollars an item or a dollar a dollar thing? Yeah, and this is Victoria It's kind of it's got some issues too, but look how pretty oh Sorry, I didn't get a see a lot of things cuz I was checking out when she was buying these things. Oh my gosh That is stunning Yeah, or like a bra maybe like a bralette kind of situation Wow, so cool, huh, that's beautiful and did and This is a little round tablecloth You could put that on your peacock patio set table, that'd be so pretty Okay in our next episode you guys are gonna see this display blue this Something made that I'm a huge mid-century fan as you guys already know, and these are some 1960s Beto C pieces. There's also a decanter and I can't show it to you because right now it's holding my camera up I can't show it to you right now. But these are these look like candle holders. This is oh, yeah That's the lid to it. So it's a decanter and candle holders. It's kind of odd. I'm gonna use these as goblets They have holes in them, but I'm thinking I'm gonna use these as like wine goblets. Okay, so just tell me what did you pay? What do you think they're worth? Okay, so I actually paid $50 for them. Holy so that was a lot But they're probably worth 150 to 200 and to find a whole matching set that's not cracked and doesn't have chips in it Show me it's got all the original Yeah, they're Italian pottery they're amazing, okay, I love my Beto see Next now, let's see Selena stuff. Look at this little tear I found It's made out of a tin can like ladies did this. Have you seen these? No, I've never what? Yeah, this is like tin can or free with the name of this is called they do that But they may there's like little baby Victorian, you know, like my peacock chairs. Yes, they're like mitt There's little tin can ones made out of that. You should google it for like dollhouses. Yeah. Oh cute But this is like a little teary I just thought it'd be like really cool on top of one of my little chair I don't know. I like to collect here. I think this is really cool This is Italian micro mosaic and it's a double picture frame with the glass still in it Which is super cool. All of these little pieces as you can see are like micro Mosaic, that's why it's so small. How did they put it together? Probably some tweezers One for Laura one for me Selena found this for our dear friend Michelle as you guys know from our jewelry episode But she loves little old leather coin purses and this one's really cute So we're gonna give this to her as a gift That's super attached to this one here was a little note identifying the piece and I just want to read it to you now because I think it's Extra special when you get to learn the history of a piece and where it came from and how it was made So this is drawn work cloth and it was made by aunt Mary McCaw Irving when she was in her late 60s She won fair prizes for her work, which is now almost a lost art. It was made in the 1920s or early 1900s Mary lived from 1846 to 1933 she was six months old when she came by wagon train to Oregon Amazing and then I got this for my mom. It's new. It's from Chico's, but my mom always loves tunics and like And it's like this cool coral color So I think that mama like this we need to go photograph your mom in the tulip fields on that All right, that's my loot Laura show us what you okay So Selena was definitely the wing woman on these I actually said no the first time that she pointed them out She was like, oh, these are cool little bohemian wise men for Christmas And oh, let's read the note These ones are together. Look they're on a little piece of wood. I didn't even notice that Oh, so she's told where you're supposed to put these You're supposed to put them on the hot tub side window in the family room. No way. Yeah, that's what the note says Yeah, every decoration had a location. Yeah. Oh my gosh her poor children Look you guys. Yeah, look at this bohemian Christmas. We're gonna have a bohemian Christmas this miss angel, baby Look at these very mid-century They look like cookies. They do look like cookies and it even looks like there's icing on top next What's that if an angel breaks its wings no, I didn't break it What is that thing? It's not this thing. Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wing. Oh Some like weird dark thing like every time you break an angel's wings Wise men comes after y'all. I spotted this for Laura. She did this the cute little pouch little purse Color so cute. This is war. Yeah. Oh, it's gonna be cute. It's a really cute top. Oh, it's like a scooby-doo outfit I've got my scooby-doo top on I paired it with an antique doctor's bag It's cute now, right? Oh, I love this one little jewelry box Why are you hiding this from me? No! I didn't want you to see it! All right, so I just spoiled Selena's birthday present. It's still got the Goodwill tag on it and everything That'd be so cool if you put her picture in it. Okay, I'm gonna put a picture but it's not your only present So at least the whole thing's not spoiled. Thanks, Laura The $3.99 Goodwill tag on the back. We're real classy around here. Those are the best presents. Yeah, I'm not used to this heat It's like 67 degrees an ugly box. It's really cute. It's a jewelry box. I got some white boot Shoelaces, you know, you never know when you're gonna need those. I'm gonna pop those in. Oh Look, I got more Christmas stuff. I got some Tanoa Mexican pottery I got the whole scene and I was trying forever to figure out where baby Jesus was I didn't want to buy it if it didn't have baby Jesus and there's baby Jesus Kind of looks like Patrick from Spongebob Well, I mean I don't watch it now And then I got a lot of Harry Potter. Oh, well, that's not a cartoon. Oh, I got a really cool brass candle holder This is what it's gonna look like when it's all put together So you guys I am ready for Christmas I'm gonna have a mid-century Christmas and the suitcase and the suitcase that I'm holding right now Selena just scored we went to an estate sale out in the country and our car died on the way like things have been rough It's been a rough morning I got this really gorgeous Miriam Haskell pearl bracelet. It's like a cuff Style, I got a tooled leather hat Which apparently Fits my little head. What do I gotta do? Oh, it sticks up too high. Yeah, you just gotta get it wet No, get it wet and weight it down. Okay. Yeah, this is a little out of control girl You just gotta shape it This is cool. It's all metal. Oh, you would probably like to see this. Look how cute It's a little mini. I won't show you the price tag cause I might sell it But it's all metal and has all these neat little jewels on it's like perfect for Looking at yourself. It needs to be and like a little Victorian silk pouch or something Yeah, so it doesn't get scratched and then I also got this little pillbox there. It has pearls and a little jeweled cabochon for you Knowers who know I'm gonna show them my favorite little buddy. I got a concrete hedgehog. You know me I love my little critters. I'm cutesy This is the difference in our style look at this, I mean is this not Selena and Laura I could see you like this though. I do. I like little turquoise bits Where better to spend your birthday than at the bins Selena how was your birthday at Goodwill bins? Yeah, we were in there for about three minutes Oh, we're gonna get hit by a car and we were like, nope, we're going back out to yard sales and estate sales It's too nice out pretty much Yeah, in case we go to lunch and have a margarita and stop estate sale shopping and we don't go to the bins And we don't go to the storage unit.
