Hey sweetie, it's grandma. I just want to call and congratulate you.
Daddy told us about all these wedding projects coming up for you.
That's just marvelous, Caitlin. So proud of you, honey. So proud. I love you.
These are the hands of your best friend. Young, strong, and full of love for you that are
holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.
These are the hands that will passionately love you. No question about that. These are the hands
that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes. These are the hands that will tenderly
hold your children someday. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged
will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness
with just a touch. God bless you both. Rest your eyes.
As they go, may they know every love that was shown. And as, excuse me,
as life gets shorter, may their feelings grow. Wherever they travel, wherever they stay,
God bless the couple, these couple, who married today.
You know, there were, there were tough parts of my life that Donna was there for. Sorry. And,
you know, you really get a feel for who somebody is based on, based on how they handle stuff like
that, you know. When we first met, he was a little shy and nervous, and I was too.
My kids are the most important thing in the world, so I had to be really careful about
who I brought into their lives and how I brought them into their lives. So,
I think what really sold it for me was the way that she cares for my children.
She's truly, she mothers them like they're her own children, and it's beyond what I ever
could have imagined. He's so happy when we wake up in the morning. He's so happy it's me.
Donna, I'm sure you know everything about your husband now, to know that he's going to love you
forever. He's going to treat you right, and he's going to constantly cook pizza for you until you
get sick of it. When I started thinking about a speech, I was very nervous, and I even contemplated
asking her if she would mind if I didn't speak, but I quickly moved past that idea because I knew
how important it was for me to share with all of you how special she is to me.
I could never have asked for a better sister and best friend,
and now you're sharing a room with someone else.
All of these things that you notice and feel at this moment,
all of these things that brought you here, those are your points of connection.
I'm ready. Go ahead and practice them.
The arrangement of two beloveds, the joining of two soul mates.
Be consecrated to me with this ring as my husband, in keeping with the heritage of Moses and Israel.
You know, in the next few years, to have many kids running around.
Usually I end with a song, but I know that you're going to kill me later on.
It's no accident that you are here today as each of you were invited because you represent
someone important in the individual and collective lives of Hannah and Jared.
However, it was an accident that brings us here on this exact day.
Ten years ago on this date, Jared started a journey
that led him to meeting many of you. In fact, that's how he met Hannah.
It's their wish to make this day a happy day, a fond memory.
When we first met and this gorgeous young woman agreed to take care of me on Saturdays
under the condition I take her out to brunch, that was pretty unbelievable.
You know, we immediately had a connection I had never felt before.
You felt like home. In under three months,
I went from not knowing you to not knowing how I could live without you.
Jared Michael Nieder, before we met,
before we met, my dreams were to travel the world.
This is going to be a long...
There was a problem though. You had big plans to retire early and go travel the world.
Little did I know that my true dream was building my life right here with you.
I remember telling my mom I didn't want you to leave. The problem with great advice
is it's usually not what you want to hear. She said I shouldn't ask you to stay. Actually,
she said you would never forgive me if I asked you to stay.
And then I'll never forget when I got the text.
I thought I wanted to travel the world, but it turns out I left my world at home.
That was unbelievable.
To me, you represent so many things. My sense of comfort when I get uneasy,
my sense of protection when I'm scared, and my sense of security.
I know you'll always be there for me.
You have already shown your tenacity to the world,
and now, as one, we will conquer anything that life throws at us.
You packed up our lives and moved us to Lawrence for five months so we could be
with my mom in her final days and grieve with my family after she passed. Hannah, you're just so
I vow to be your fiercest protector, to be your best advocate,
to make you smile every day, and to love you unconditionally.
I announce with great joy that you are now husband and wife. You may seal this with a kiss.
There was one other piece of advice my mom gave me that really resonated with me
and has kind of been my mantra through this whole process.
She said, Jared, don't F this up for her.
I think it's going good so far, and I vow to keep it going like that.
What I wish for them on their wedding day is that their lifetime together, as a team,
is one full of moments they wish would never end and continue to make each other achieve,
laugh, and experience things they never thought they could.
We toast your mutual love and admiration. We raise our glasses as a symbol of we've got your back.
May you get all of your wishes but one, so you always have something to strive for.
Got these for you. Are they glasses? Yeah, the colorblind ones. Nah, you're kidding.
You guys can see this every day. Stop making me cry.
Say this is rose red or pink, white and violet on the end. Oh, nice.
Friends, we're gathered today in the sight of God to witness and bless the joining together
of Ty and Carly in Christian marriage. The covenant of marriage was established by God
when he created us male and female. With his presence and power, Jesus graced a wedding
at Cana of Galilee, and in his sacrificial love gives us the example for the love of husband and
wife. Ty and Carly come to give themselves to one another today in this holy covenant.
In times like this, it's really important that we honor love and family.
You take this world from this day on.
Carly, you look absolutely stunning. You've given me this privilege today being your maid of honor
and I couldn't be happier to have spent the summer planning and waiting for this day.
This morning as we started to prepare, I got to see how excited you were and it for sure tugged
at my heartstrings. We've been counting down the days and the day is finally here. As we continue
to create special memories together, I've realized that we have this bond that goes beyond the
meaning of a sister. As I look back, I'm reminded of just how grateful and blessed I am that you
have shared your thoughtfulness and sense of compassion with me. You've given me this wonderful
friendship and although I've grown up with six biological sisters, you filled the shoes of a
sister I didn't know I needed. I'm forever grateful for your heart and your ability to make anyone you
talk to feel like a million bucks. I hope that the love surrounding you today will be here for many
years to come. Ty, you look handsome as ever. You clean up nicely even though you didn't shave the
beard. For the amount of time that I've known you, you've always been a sweet guy and I can't think
of a better person for Carly to marry. Seeing her this happy shows how perfect you are for her.
Bo and Chief sure lucked out to have dog parents as cool as you guys. My greatest wish for the two
of you is that through the years, your love for each other will only deepen and grow. Here's to
Probably most of you know that Ty's father passed away many years ago. I am 100 percent sure that he
is very proud of you today. I'm also completely sure that he would be thrilled to see the love
that you two share and that is awesome. In the name of God, I, Ty, take you, Carly, to be my wife.
In the name of God, I, Carly, take you, Ty, to be my husband. To have and to hold. From this day
forward. For better, for worse. For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish.
Until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow. This is my solemn vow. Now that Ty and Carly
have given themselves to each other by solemn vows and by the giving and receiving of rings,
I announce to you that they are husband and wife. Ty, you may kiss your bride.
