I'm starting to talk now.
Hello everyone, Alan here and that was my hike of the Lagerweger trail in Iceland.
And yeah, ever since the first time I went to Iceland, I knew I had to come back and
I've been exploring the highlands and through a little research I found out about this trail and I just thought
Well, that was a cool way to experience the highlands and make a video about that.
So yeah, you're kind of seeing the result of that.
So this is very much a Craig Adams inspired video.
If you don't know who Craig is, he does these amazing hiking videos on YouTube.
I've been a fan of his ever since his Japan videos.
So yeah, if you like hiking videos, go check him out and you won't be disappointed.
Now, you may have noticed, I didn't really talk that much in this video.
That wasn't intentional, but my mic jack broke on my A7III and I actually have the recording
of that very moment when it happened.
The wind kind of knocked over my camera and ever since then, my mic port just didn't work.
and I couldn't use my dedicated microphone.
So I found that the internal microphone on the a7iii just wasn't up to the task, especially
during the windy conditions I was experiencing during the first days of the hike.
So the next time I do one of these videos, I'll probably talk a little more just to provide
a little more context or my feelings during a particular moment.
I think that would be nice, but let me know what you think about that.
So yeah, I haven't been able to travel much during these current times that we all find
ourselves in, so things have been pretty slow on my end.
But it seems to be opening up a little around Europe now, which was the case with Iceland,
but other places as well.
It's all a little uncertain, which also means making regular content updates a little uncertain
I'm not too bad.
But if all goes well, I'm planning on doing another multi-day hiking trip outdoors, specifically
I'm looking at the Dolomites right now in Italy.
With the current state of the world, doing more outdoor stuff might be a little safer
Because of the fewer people around compared to cities and all.
At least I feel a little more comfortable with that.
And yeah, social distancing is the perfect excuse to go after more of these outdoors
Experiences, I guess.
But for this next trip to possibly Italy, I'm not doing it alone.
I'm bringing Lisa with me.
She didn't like the cold Icelandic weather, so she declined this trip.
But it'll be interesting to see how that all goes on a multi-day hike with her.
But yeah, as always, a more informative guide sort of video will be coming up after this
One, so if you're planning to do the Lagervega trail yourself, watch out for that.
And finally, I just hope you're all staying safe out there, whether at home or if you're
like me, starting back on that travel grind.
This is Alan, talk to you guys soon.
