If you'd like to learn a few tips and tricks to keeping your home clean and tidy all the time
then this video is for you. If I have a clean and tidy workspace and home I just feel a whole
lot less stressed and anxious. So today I've decided to share my top tips for keeping your
home clean and tidy all the time. Instead of spending your entire weekend cleaning
what I like to do is take a little bit of time out each day instead. So I usually set my alarm
on my clock for 20 minutes and I clean and tidy for 20 minutes a day. It's actually amazing how
much you can get done and I usually listen to a podcast or some music while I'm cleaning and
tidying and I find this a really good way of keeping on top of things. I also think it's
really important to keep all of your cleaning tools in one place and keep them kind of organized
and ordered as well. There's nothing worse than wanting to clean the bath or clean one area of
your house and you can't find the right cloth or you don't have any gloves. I think it's really
important to have a lot of really cool cleaning products and it really helps you to stay organized.
I specifically like these cloths because they actually are labeled and it shows
what cloth is to be used for where so there's no chance of actually getting them mixed up but
having cloths and products that you actually like and enjoy using and keeping them all neat
and tidy and ordered in the one place I think is really important. Creating some really basic daily
habits also helps me keep on top of things. Just simple things too like once you get up and you
have a shower you make your bed. It's amazing what a difference having your bed made can actually
make to your to your day. It always just starts me off on the right foot so just creating habits
of some of those really simple tasks is also really important. Even things like after having
your shower I just quickly squeegee the screen and yeah it takes a couple of seconds but it does
mean that I don't need to spend my weekends cleaning the shower. I'm pretty much cleaning
it as I go. Even little habits of once my boys have finished their breakfast in the morning I
just whip around with my vacuum cleaner, tidy up pretty much as I go and these things are just daily
habits. I think it's really handy creating a drop zone in your home as well and this is for things
like mail and gifts and pretty much anything that needs to leave the house. I use this drawer as my
drop zone and I keep my handbag in here and anything that needs to leave the house. So on
my way out I always grab my bag and anything in the drawer and I don't leave anything behind
and it also means that these bits and pieces aren't hanging around on kitchen countertops
and creating mess. Another good way to stop mess and bits and pieces just hanging around your house
is to create a donate box. So I keep this box in the cupboard at my front door and whenever I come
across bits and pieces of things that I no longer want or need I just grab them and pop them in the
and when the box is full I take it to my closest charity store and this is a way of really keeping
things tidy and organized in your home. Our house used to be drowning in paper and it would be
things like mail and notices that would come home from school with my boys so I tidied out one of
the drawers in my kitchen and dedicated this to paper so it means that everything is kept in the
place. I'm not searching around trying to find lost notices and timetables and diaries and it
also means that these things aren't just lying around on kitchen counters and on my dining room
table as well. So if you have a problem area it's probably time to create a system for it.
You've probably heard this tip before but I can't overstate how important it is to give everything
a home and make sure you put it back in its place once you've finished using it.
Everything needs a home otherwise it will cause clutter. If you actually want to make cleaning
as enjoyable and painless as possible then you really need to invest in some decent tools.
I swear by this handheld vax because it is lightweight, it runs on a battery, it works
really well and it's something that I can take with me around the house and I don't need to
plug it in everywhere I go and that's why I think it's really important to make sure that you invest
in some quality cleaning tools to really take the hard work out of the jobs.
Oh and this one's also great for removing pet hair which is really important in our household.
This spray mop is my other favorite tool that I couldn't live without because you don't need a
this little container thing that actually sits in the mop with your cleaning solution and it just
slots straight into the handle there and then to use it you just squirt out your product and mop.
So gone are the days where you need a mop and bucket and this does the job so well and it just
makes life so much easier so I can't overstate how important it is to have the right tools for the job.
Now the one touch rule is really about making sure you only touch each item once so instead of
just taking your jacket off when you come home and throwing it on a chair giving you another job for
another time, why not just take it off put it straight on a hanger and hang it up into your
wardrobe. This really means that you're touching the item once and you're not creating more jobs
than needed. And make sure you completely finish the job so once you've finished vacuuming for
instance make sure you empty it plug it in and charge it there is nothing worse than wanting
to do a job and your equipment isn't ready so touch things once and finish the job properly.
Another really simple thing you can do to keep things organized is just do a quick tidy up before
you go to bed and then you can enjoy waking up to a nice clean and tidy organized home to start
your day. That's it for today I hope you enjoyed these tips and tricks to keeping your home clean
tidy and ordered. If you did I'd love you to give this video a thumbs up and don't forget to
