Hi everyone, in today's video I'm going to share with you the 10 key pieces in my autumn wardrobe.
Also later on in the video I'm going to share with you a little update on my weight loss journey with
Noom and exactly how much weight I've lost so far, so let's get into it. A crew neck sweater is an
absolute essential in my autumn wardrobe. I'd have them in every single colour if I could because
they're just so practical and so versatile. I'm a big fan of wearing the same colour crew neck
sweater with the cardigan with maybe a pair of black jeans or even white jeans, blue jeans,
whatever colour. I love the matching look on top but I also like wearing the same colour underneath
with a different colour outerwear, so if the jumper was grey I'd wear grey trousers and a black
cardigan or a black coat. I've got a few now in different colours, both of these come from
Knapp Loungewear. The grey one I wear quite a lot underneath the cardigan, the beige one I wear quite
a lot with the camel blazer. I'm going to wear both of these with the navy blazer. These colours
look terrific with a pair of white jeans and some flat shoes, maybe some loafers or even with some
leopard print ballerinas and when it starts getting cooler I can layer the sweater over a white shirt.
As well as having crew neck sweaters in plain colours in my wardrobe, I do like to have more of
a kind of like a statement sweater but something that will still go with all the other pieces in
my wardrobe. I've just picked up two new sweaters, one from, not that one, one from Marsden Spencers
and one from H&M. Both of these I thought will work great with all the other pieces in my wardrobe.
This one is actually navy and cream so I'm hoping this will actually go underneath the navy blazer
and not be too bulky. It goes great with black jeans, I'll also try it with blue jeans. I have
also tried it layered with the white shirt underneath and I've tried it layered with a blue
and white striped shirt underneath which was a complete surprise to me. I absolutely loved it
with the blue and white striped shirt. The striped sweater from H&M I've tried with black jeans.
I probably won't wear this with blue jeans because of the black stripe, I just think it's going to
look better with that. I'm sure it'll go with the beige trench coat and possibly even the camel
blazer as well. Both are lovely knits that can be worn quite casually, they'll be lovely and cosy
for the autumn and pair well with lots of different things. Usually in a capsule style wardrobe I would
include a black blazer but this year I'm going with navy. I've just bought this one from Zara,
I have showed you this in a few of my videos now. This is going to be a key piece in my autumn
wardrobe. Navy is a really nice alternative to a black blazer, the colour is a little bit softer
on the skin, black can be a little bit harsh but also it's such a sophisticated colour, it goes with
so many other colours, it's like pink, red, camel, burgundy, green, black, it goes well with stripes
and prints so it's a really versatile piece to have in your wardrobe. This was £60 and I got
this in a size small. I don't think I've ever been a size small in Zara before, I used to be a medium
then I went right up to a size large but now I can fit into size small but I have lost some
weight recently. I don't know if you saw the video back in June or you remember me talking
to you about it but I've been using a platform called Noom which is a consumer-led digital health
platform which basically helps you become the healthiest version of you by making the right
health choices. So since I've started using Noom in total I've lost 10 pounds which I'm absolutely
thrilled about but I've always said for me it's been so much more than just losing weight, Noom
has basically just helped me take back control of my health. I think I mentioned in my
last video prior to using Noom I just wasn't looking after myself, I had really high blood
pressure, I wasn't exercising enough, probably not drinking enough water, I'd put on weight and
I just wasn't feeling very good in myself or with what I was wearing so I knew I
needed some help and Noom was exactly what I needed. I'm a person I like to write
everything down and cross everything off and track everything and on the platform you can do all of
that, you can track everything, you track your exercise, your steps, you can track your water
intake and your blood pressure, you track your weight, they encourage you every single day to
weigh yourself which I wasn't actually that keen on doing I've got to be honest but it really does
help when you see your graph going down sometimes going up, it hasn't always been a straight line
for me that's for sure, it does really help and the daily lessons and the group coaching can really
help with that too. Every day you get a new lesson which I always read first thing in the morning
because it really keeps me focused on my goal which is ultimately to feel good and live the
healthiest lifestyle that I can and that's where the daily lessons really really help. You know you
take something away from all of the lessons but one of the ones that I found really interesting
was called Write the Script and it was basically about our eating habits and sort of why we do the
things that we do automatically perhaps without thinking. You know things like if you go to the
movies you get popcorn or at the end of the day you might get in from work and you have a glass of
wine or you know you watch the tv and you always have crisps while you're watching the tv, things
like that you know things that you just don't think about and you just do automatically. It
challenges you to ask the question why, why do you do those things but then it helps you understand
why you do those things and change those behaviours. So that's my Noom journey so far but I know lots
of you signed up last time so I would love to know how you're getting on, how much weight you've lost,
how you're finding the platform, you know if there's any lessons that you particularly like
then share it all below so that we can share our journey together. If you'd like to try Noom you
can use my code it's noom.com forward slash whattowear, you just take a really short quiz
and then you can get started straight away. Now another piece that I usually include in a capsule
style wardrobe would be a trench coat, a beige trench coat usually, but to be honest I've got a
little bit bored of the beige trench coat. I have one in my wardrobe and I will be wearing it I'm
sure but I've kind of switched to a black trench coat which I think can look really quite classy.
I've actually got two now, I've got one from LilySilk and one from Monks and Spencers which
I've just bought. They're made of two different fabrics, the LilySilk one is much lighter, it's a
and the Monks and Spencers one is more of a traditional type trench coat, it's much thicker,
it's heavier and this will be better when the weather gets colder whereas this one right now
is a lovely piece to layer but as soon as it gets a little bit colder it's not going to be warm
enough to wear. The black trench coat is just as versatile as a beige one, it goes with stripes,
it goes with white shirts, looks lovely with colours like reds and oranges, it can be worn
casually or more dressy and I just think it's a really nice alternative to the beige one which we
see so often now. Now the next staple in my wardrobe is the camel blazer. I think I've had
this a couple of years now, I got it from Reece, it was in the sale, I think it was around about £90
so I really have got my money's worth from this blazer. The camel blazer looks wonderful with the
Breton striped top, also works beautifully with white shirts, with white t-shirts, it goes great
with red, I like to wear this with a red bag to add some colour, it looks wonderful with burgundy,
camel and burgundy look fantastic together. Another colour combination I've grown to love
is camel and grey, it really goes wonderfully well together, it's a colour combination that took me
ages to get used to and to like but now I absolutely love it and of course it works so
well with all black underneath or black and white, there's many ways that the camel blazer can be
styled and worn. I was thinking about which trousers that I would include in this video,
the trousers that I generally wear the most over the autumn and the winter are black jeans,
I probably wear black jeans more than blue jeans, I think one of the reasons for that is that they
go better with boots because boots are generally black so I think it gives a more streamlined look
and generally makes your legs look a little bit longer whereas a lighter blue jean and a black
boot isn't quite as flattering on the leg. These jeans I've had for a little while now, they're
actually losing their colour unfortunately, they came from Marks and Spencer's but I found them
really comfortable, they're a straight leg jean and they do have some stretch in them as well,
great length on me, I can wear these with flat shoes but I can also wear them with a little
heel boot or a heel as well. The black jean can be very versatile, looks great with the camel blazer,
I'll also try these with the navy blazer, I'll put all black underneath and pair the navy blazer on
top, I wear them simply with a white shirt or with a trench coat or with the cardigan,
so they're very very versatile. Autumn is a time for layering so I find these long sleeve white
t-shirt tops to be really really handy in my wardrobe, great to wear just as they are under a
blazer, under a trench coat but also to layer up underneath other sweaters. I find this style much
easier to wear than a standard t-shirt style top with short sleeves because if you want to wear a
t-shirt underneath a jumper or maybe even a blazer the sleeves don't particularly sit very
well whereas the long sleeve ones you can pull down and it doesn't bunch up and get a bit bulky,
it's just a really great little layering piece. Now an essential piece of clothing for me in the
autumn is a white shirt, they go with everything on this rail, I like them underneath trench coats,
I like them layered under sweaters and blazers, I can wear them with black jeans with the sweater
over the shoulders, they can even be layered under dresses. If you're looking for a nice white
cotton shirt here's a few, this is from M&S, it's around about £25, if you want a very good quality
one this one is from Ralph Lauren, I'm actually thinking of investing in this one myself.
Bowdoin do very nice shirts also and they're usually a good price too, they're just a few
but I'll link a bigger selection below for you. Now I couldn't be without a cardigan in my wardrobe
in the autumn, this one I've had a little while now, it comes from Knapp Loungewear, I wear this
grey cardigan with the grey crewneck sweater underneath and black jeans, I also wear it with
the white t-shirt top underneath again with black jeans, I would wear the grey sweater and grey
cardigan with blue jeans, they do work with prints underneath as well like a czech shirt, I showed
you a look just recently in one of my videos with a beige coloured cardigan with a czech shirt, it
goes really well together, the cardigan is lovely to wear around the house but it can be dressed up
as well. Now I don't know about you but I get quite tired quite quickly actually of wearing jeans when
the colder weather sets in so I do like to have something a little bit more feminine like a dress
in my wardrobe. Now I have just ordered a really beautiful knitted dress from Bowdoin but unfortunately
it hasn't arrived in time for me to show you in this video, I like the contrast of the flared skirt
and the fitted top and I love it paired with these brown knee-high boots and of course you can add a
belt onto that as well. A dress that I did pick up just recently which I showed you in my last H&M
haul was this black wrap dress which is going to be perfect for the autumn, it's a wrap dress
with balloon sleeves and it's really flattering, I thought this would look lovely with knee-high
boots and just like the photo I could add a different kind of belt with this as well
and depending on the length I may be able to wear this underneath the black trench coat.
So there are my 10 key pieces I'd love to know what yours are for the autumn
so do let me know in the comments box below, bye for now
