So we got a call for a Jeep Wrangler that's stuck at the bottom of the sand
chute down in the Virgin River. He says he's not only at the bottom of
the sand chute which is bad enough but he's
also buried in the river so or in some sand by the river in the
willows he's looking for another way out. So we're gonna go down there and get
him unstuck and then we're gonna spend some time helping him get back up
the sand chute. Ed's not gonna be with us today because
he is headed down to his claim in California
to look for some gold. So we wish him luck
and hopefully we find some luck today. So what makes me the most nervous about
this is I know I have climbed out of here. I
don't know that I can climb out of here today.
They're in those willows.
Yeah we'll get it. I'm gonna I'm actually gonna put him in
I'm not sure exactly how much I have in here but we're going low.
What's the prediction? Oh we're getting out. Let's see.
How many tries? I think there's gonna be around
eight. Eight tries. We're on the ragged edge of getting out of here so I'm gonna
apply every trick I know.
Oh
We just about didn't do that. I gotta cool my radiator down.
You doing okay? Yep. It's a hard hill. It's like you
climb two feet and sink four. We're gonna want to hook to the right
front of that so we don't pull it over this way any more than
we have to. One thing about a recovery like this this time of day
I have a tendency to get like really focused on the job and
forget about other things but it is really hot right now
and I had to remind myself and remind the rest of the crew to just work slow
be patient don't overextend yourself because this
is uh this can be bad. Bound up a little goofy so
okay you want to follow the rope more than obviously you're going to want to
go around that but when you get out here you'll get
more traction so you're basically going to be turning
your tires. It's your birthday it's your birthday you can dance if you
want to.
