This plot is the most common, smallest available size in Hyderabad.
My name is Babas Hishank from Space Fiction Studio, Hyderabad.
Today I'll be discussing our project Soul Garden House,
which is across a plot area of 2000 square feet located near Lanko Hills in Hyderabad.
Before we start, please note that you can download the full PDF ebook of this house
with detailed floor plans, photos and fact file from buildify.com
and the link is mentioned in the description below.
With this design, we wanted to demonstrate that even a small house can feel very open
by bringing nature indoors in the truest sense without compromising on privacy.
A young couple with their kid approach us to design a 3 bedroom house with amenities
on this small plot.
The stilt comprises of parking, a servant's room and a game's room.
The actual house begins on the first floor with dining and living separated by a sunken courtyard.
The bedrooms on the next floor are staggered to create balconies.
The walls are removed and operable windows with glass and metal are created at the ends
to allow free flow of air.
At the soul of the house lies a tropical garden.
The central garden is covered with a laser cut metal perforated screen, parametrically designed
which brings in this fantastic play of light throughout the day and year.
This garden houses a series of tropical plants and a water fountain
which adds the element of sound to the whole house.
The perforated screen is covered with stainless steel mesh on the outside to keep insects out.
The living and dining rooms open seamlessly into the garden
with the option of closing with sliding glass when the air conditioning is turned on.
A small private study room is created as an extension of the living on this floor.
Yellow cement oxide flooring flows throughout this level
broken only by handmade cement tiles parametrically aligned along the main axis.
Both the bedrooms on the next floor are connected by a bridge which has a concrete
seater running end to end.
The ceilings are left bare exposing the concrete structure with surface mounted lights.
The master bedroom has a built-in study on the window ledge and a wardrobe made in cane work.
A balcony from this room looks onto the garden below.
The kids room has a skylight study which opens onto the east-facing road covered by louvers.
The play nook extends into the double-height garden as a projection box.
The two projection boxes which make up the facade of the house
are the kids study and an entry foyer both similar in nature with skylights and metal openings.
Perforated metal sheet makes up most of the elements of the main facade
like the gate, entry foyer door, operable louvers on the dining floor and the kids study area.
These while feeling solid during daytime become semi-transparent
in the night shining like a jewel from within.
Thank you for watching our project story.
