Welcome to Alex's unboxing channel.
What makes a good unboxing YouTube channel?
Is it the amount of boxes you have to unbox?
Because if it is one, two, three, four, I'm doing a good job.
Now, I love eating pizza like pretty much everyone, I think.
And that's why I went on the internet the other day and bought myself a pizza oven.
Um, let's just take these off for now.
I think it's inside this one.
My choice of opening tool.
Pizza is a big part of my life and I'll tell you why.
I actually built a pizza oven in my garden three years ago.
So I made this brick base and then I got some sand,
piled it in a mound and then put clay around it and built this clay wood-fired oven.
I'd seen like when I've gone to like a pizzeria or a pizza place,
I see that they have like a clay wood-fired pizza oven
and that really inspired me to make one myself.
So I did that and it enabled me to have some of the best times ever
because I invited friends around and we had like pizza parties
where we would just sit in the garden, make pizzas, drink beer
and just have a great time basically.
And I actually moved out of that house last year
and it wasn't a very portable pizza oven
because it was stuck to the ground and very heavy.
So I couldn't really take it with me to where I moved on to,
which was probably the thing I was most sad about when I moved house.
Oh, look at that.
No way.
Which is exactly why I got this.
That's right.
It is a portable pizza oven.
I can take pizzas wherever I like.
It cost me £299 which is quite a bit of money
but the pizza oven that I built probably cost me more like £400
so it's actually not too bad.
And this one I can take with me anywhere.
And because I'm not really sure where my life is going
and I'm not really sure where I'm going to live over the next few years,
it feels like it would be a bit of a waste to build another pizza oven.
And instead, yeah, I went for this.
It's an Ooni Karoo 12.
I believe the number 12 means that it's 12 inches
so you can make 12-inch pizzas that go in the door.
It is a multi-fuel pizza oven,
which means you can use it with gas and also coal and wood.
Can you tell I'm very happy?
If that's the case then that means I can cook 60 pizzas in an hour.
Like you could start a proper good like pizza business with that.
60 pizzas each costing £10.
10 times 60 is 600.
You can make £600 an hour with this pizza oven.
Who's gonna start the business?
Maybe I should anyway.
I would just like to mention that this isn't a sponsored video.
It's not endorsed by anyone.
So what you're getting here is a non-biased honest review.
Where is it made?
Oh, what?
This pizza oven was designed in Scotland and made in China.
Delivering a powerful blast of searing flames.
Sounds good.
Shall we open it up then?
Does kind of feel like Christmas, I have to say.
But better because I actually chose this and I wanted it.
I sound ungrateful for my Christmas presents.
But last year I just got loads of socks, which is good.
It's a very useful thing to get for Christmas.
Oh, anytime really.
The socks that I've got on now I got for Christmas.
That one's got a spaceship on it.
Got a space rocket and then I got a space man.
I'll shut up now.
First thing I've taken out is this.
This is the plate which you cook on, like the hot stone.
Because when you cook pizzas, like in my pizza oven before,
I put down these fire bricks.
And the fire bricks can heat up to like really hot temperatures.
And that's what you lay the pizzas on.
So this is the equivalent.
And then it means that your pizzas get like a really charred crispy base.
Looks like a spaceship.
Really hot today.
There's loads of little boxes on the inside.
So I guess I need to open them up.
But that's the basic structure of it.
And it's got three nice little legs.
Come on.
What could this be?
This is what you have on every fire.
A chimney.
And then this little switch here is so you can open and close it.
So if you open it, more air can pass through.
And if you close it, it stops the air.
So you can control the heat, I guess, and the airflow.
So many boxes.
Biodegradable with organic waste.
So does that mean you can put this in like your compost?
What on earth is that?
I believe these are what you put the coals in and the wood.
So let's have a look at this then.
This is the plate, like the cooking plate.
Oh look, I think that's the instructions.
So I believe this goes in here.
The stone is called the stone baking board.
This is called a chimney cap.
This is actually a really good little booklet.
It tells you exactly how to cook with charcoal, how to cook with gas,
how to light it up.
I'm gonna read that in bed tonight.
It even tells you how to make pizza.
That's good.
And that goes in there.
So you put your wood or your coals on top of that.
An air can go under there.
And then this slides into here.
I thought that was it, but no, there's more.
There's more and there's a door.
And then this thing here is like a back door which goes over the burner.
I have to say I'm rather excited about my new toy.
I can't wait to use it.
Unfortunately, not everything you need to run this thing comes in the box.
You do have to buy some other stuff to go with it.
As I mentioned earlier, it's a multi-fuel pizza oven.
So I can use it with wood and coal, but also you can use it with gas.
But to use it with gas, you have to buy an additional thing.
And that thing is gas burner.
If I cook with charcoal or wood, I need charcoal or wood.
And that's what the third box is for.
Now, I hope this video takes off and it gets like 5 million views.
Because if it does, then it will give me a good excuse to film unboxing videos.
I just imagine being an unboxing YouTuber, it's like Christmas every day, right?
I'm kidding.
This will probably be the first and only unboxing video on my YouTube channel.
A 4 kilogram bag of ash charcoal.
This company called Whittle and Flame, they make charcoal.
But I watched a video about how they make it the other day and it was quite interesting.
Maybe I'll leave a link to that.
If you want to know how charcoal is made,
click the link in the description for a video because it was quite interesting.
I actually thought when I watched it, you know, I would like to try that one day.
If I ever had a woodland and had some land or something,
I'd totally try making my own charcoal.
That thing there that he's holding,
I don't know if it has actually a pizza peel or if it's just a fire poker.
But anyway, here's what I use when I make pizzas in my old pizza oven.
It's called a pizza peel.
I believe this is 12 inches, so this should fit actually.
Oh yes, fits perfect.
So you get the pizza on that, you go...
And then you get it in the oven.
And then it cooks and then you slide this in and take it out.
It's so satisfying using this and yeah, it's good fun.
Finally, we've got an Amazon box.
This is an infrared thermometer.
I think it's already got a battery in.
No way it comes with a battery.
Nothing comes with batteries these days.
How do you turn it on?
The battery's got like plastic on it, so of course it wasn't going to flip and work.
Oh wow, that's cool.
The floor is 32 degrees right now.
That box is 23 degrees.
27 degrees.
22.
32 degrees.
Wow, 32 degrees.
That is a cool bit of kit.
I can use that for all sorts of things now.
I completely forgot.
The reason I got this was so that I can use this to test the temperature of the oven.
So I can heat it up and then once it gets hot enough...
Because you don't want to put a pizza in when it's only like 100 degrees.
You want it to be like 200 or 300 degrees.
So you can just point this at the pizza stone and then find out the right temperature.
And you know when your pizza is ready to cook.
200 firelighters.
So you put a few of these in, fill it with charcoal or wood.
And these basically light really easily.
That was so much fun.
Just opened up boxes and got really excited about some new toys.
Wish I could do it more often but I've now not got much money
because I spent it all on a pizza oven.
But at least I can now take pizzas wherever I go.
I can pop this in the van and then I can drive to the sea and have pizzas.
Or drive to Scotland and have pizzas.
Or just have pizzas at home.
Pretty cool.
What next then?
Well in a couple of weeks I plan to go on a big road trip with a couple of friends.
And what I want to do is I want to go in the van.
Drive somewhere really beautiful.
Maybe set up next to a flat calm lake with a nice beach.
And we can we can cook up pizzas.
That sounds just like heaven to me.
Stay tuned for that episode because it's going to be coming soon.
I promise.
Thanks for watching this little unboxing episode.
Let me know what you think.
Should I do more of these?
Should I not bother?
Let me know in the comments.
Cheers for watching everyone.
I'll see you next time.
Should we do an ending where I hit the camera?
