Guys, we are at Mei Mei's friend's house, Miss Brenda, and her home is so beautiful.
I have never seen anything quite like it. You guys are going to love it.
Hello, come in. Look at this. Don't you love that? That tricked me. I was like, how am I
going to get in her house? Hi, I'm Brenda. I found this at the thrift store and talked my husband
into cutting it in two. So he cut it in two for me. I just thought it was great. That is so genius.
I love it. And we're right here in her foyer, and I'll let her go through and tell us everything.
You are going to love it. So this is in her foyer. This is the foyer, and I always like to have a
manger scene when you first come in. This is a manger scene my mom and I have collected together.
I just really have enjoyed doing that. Mother has a set, and I have a set, and I kind of
combine them. I found this little ketchup and did it at the thrift store, and Bucky had to work on it
a little bit, but he was good. And then I have just so many things that are from, oh well,
so many things that are from just all over that I've had. I've been collecting 50 years,
I guess you would say, but this tree, the tree is an old tree. See how wobbly it is?
It doesn't have a base, so I just put it down here in an old, this is just a plastic flower pot,
and I put rocks around it to hold it tight. And then I just locked up on this little tree.
This little guy loves him. And then he's got the, I found this is a, just a flower I found
that I put on top of there. Just stuck it on top. Just stuck it on top. So pretty. And these are
actually patio lights, but I thought that they worked really well up there. And that Merry
Christmas is really old. I could just go on and on. I love, there's so many ornaments,
I could just spend hours looking at each one of them. They are so beautiful. And then the angels
over here are, they're pretty old too. I've had to glue quite a few back together. But I just keep
them forever and ever. These are little pockets. Some Christmases I'll put the grandkids money
in anything that has a little pocket, so they have to go and look at all of the trees and figure out
but this one came, this came from Bethlehem when we went to Jerusalem in Bethlehem and Nazareth.
We just, I just wanted something because it was just so amazing. I cannot, that's a, that's a,
that's a whole nother video. It's my trip to there. But my son painted these. These are my
so cute. Bryson, she was five. And that's Bryce, he was six. And as I claimed, she was eight.
And Benton was nine. And they all, they're 11, 12, 14, and 15. So they are so good old man.
They're so pretty. Thank you. Thank you. I'm gonna spin to my home and get a view of the foyer.
And get a peek at the ceiling. Oh, I love that. I didn't even notice that when I walked in.
I wanted a red room and my husband's colorblind and he sees that as dark brown. Oh my goodness.
So it's dark to him. So we bought my cousin some colorblind glasses and they helped him.
He loves them. I really, I'm gonna have to think about doing that. There's one other thing in here
I have to show. It took me four years to do it because I am not a needle, I'm not a needlepoint
person. That is amazing. But it took me forever. My dad was having heart surgery and, oh that must
be my heart, heart surgeries. And that's what I always did in the waiting room was did this. I
just did this needlepoint because you can pick it up and put it down. But there will never be another
one. I'm just not a needlepoint person. There's my husband, Bucky. Where's the tripod with the
big camera? We're using a phone. We're not using a phone. Welcome to our home. This is where we live.
When I designed the house, I designed it where Bucky and I will be most of the time. And our
grandkids can play. It's all childproof. It's all comfortable. It's just I wanted to come in and sit
down. It is so beautiful. We'll start right here. Okay. And then you'll have to tell us about these
books again because I love them. Oh, okay, okay. These are my travel books. I love to travel.
That's kind of my hobby. I'll show you these two. In fact, it started by accident
because I was working and I knew when I get home I would never ever have time to put
a scrapbook together. Plus, I'm not a formal scrapbook reader. We went to Scotland
so I found a kilt and I cut it the size I wanted it.
That's about the 20th one that's fallen off of here.
You know, these were old balls that I didn't know what to do with and so I just put them in this.
This is a this is an antique piece and you would not believe how many have fallen
through there. I love those ornaments. They're beautiful. Oh, some of them are really cool. Look
at this. They're all those are the angels. They're all really they're oh those that fell
off weren't that old. They were just a little old. Merry Christmas. I've been trying to look
for some of these and I have not found any. Oh, you just they're so hard to find. I found all of
these 10 years ago. Oh, and here's one that I really it's it's in the shape of a bell.
I love them. I love the colors. But anyway, I cut it to match. This is just a piece of
a skirt. This was a kilt.
I think you're filling a place now. And of course if you have you gotta have a pin
for your kilt. And all these little things came from Scotland. The keys and the heart
and one of the reasons I wanted to go to Scotland is Outlander. Have you read the Outlander series?
Oh well. Anyway, so I made a little pocket and I fix my cover page before I leave
to kind of center myself to know where I'm going and what I'm going to do. But every night
I sit down. I do my own handwriting because I'm a jotter. I'm not a journaler. I'm a jotter and I
also talk with my hands. Sorry. This is such a neat idea. But I just keep track because I know
I just cannot remember everything. And these are the places we've gone. I always do where we went
and things that we did there. And like we went to the Walker factory and I'm a map freak. So I
love maps. I always like to go and I just keep up with it every night. Sometimes I like I did that
before I left. But I try to make it feel like where we went. And then I come back later. Of
course I haven't done this one. Oh and I always put money in there. And I always pick up a rock.
But I leave room for photos which I have not done this one yet. And they can have
photos. And then this back page anywhere that has a book that I've gotten or this is travel
arrangements and things that I didn't get to. I stick them down. If I don't get a ticket in,
I'll put it in there. So it just helps me remember and doesn't take up forever. These are so cute.
I haven't ever seen anything like this. But I'm not a big crafter like this. The paper crafts and
all. But this is something I would like to do. This is really cool. Well when we go to Texas
with Amy, I'm going to do a class on it. Okay. But this is when we went to the Orient.
And I like to never decided what I wanted to do with it. Because I had never used fabric before.
I always used the leathers. I'd get jackets and skirts and always put leather on those.
But I found this jacket that had an oriental flair. And then I found this is a purse actually.
And these were different things that I picked up. That one came from Vietnam and
different you know I made it into a pocket. And here again I did my cover page. So I know this
was a long trip. So I know where we're going because we went to a lot of places. And I just
just every day every night I just we try to mail ourselves back something from where we are.
But I just pick up weird things. Uh-huh. Like the sugar packs. Things that you don't and we
went to a silk factory. Uh-huh. And I helped pull the the silk strands from the silkworms. And
there's the silkworms pods. They're not in there. But I just did these rocks come from the Great
Wall. And I just love postcards are my friend from where we are. And I just enjoy this probably as
much as I do the trip. When we were in Japan we went to the bomb museum. And at that time
they were honoring different people that were involved. And these are the origami.
And they're they're actually doves. You see that one. And the children were making those.
So we had to have that. Here here they are lined up. This is this here they are in the
strings. So and I would never remember that if I didn't do this. It would never. It would be
better like I said than a photo album. Because you could tell all the hard work that you've put
into it. And it's just so creative. I could look through this over and over again. Well we do
sometimes. We'll say what did we do when we went to. Uh-huh. But I'll put our photos in here quite
a bit. And then I do the money. I try to see this is a dollar in U.S. I'll do different different
times for different things. This is when we're in Shanghai. And I just the little children all
all the way up to the top of the mountain we're selling these. And we all we're a sucker for the
kids. They tell you not to be but we are. Oh and look at this. Oh my goodness. But we could talk
about this forever. I have forever and ever and ever things. But this is one of I guess this is
my biggest hobby. It's a great hobby. I love this. And I taught this at Amy's. And it's I filled it
in with all of our Christmas. This was our last year Christmas. Oh look. And I'm it's just a
like I say I'm not your normal scrapbooker. I'm just not. Now I have the funniest scrapbooking
you could ever be. There's my family. There's a glare. There we go. That's sweet. Beautiful family.
That's my son Brandon. Daughter-in-law April Brax. Briar. Jason. That's my daughter. And my
granddaughter. Me. Anna Claire. My oldest granddaughter. Tish. And Tish is pregnant.
But I do. I just I'm not your normal scrapbooker. I just am a little like he says I'm a little
strange in some of the things I do. But but there's and there's the baby. He was born
Lincoln. But the little music guys they're from the 30s. They were my aunts and also the choir
children. Cute. And look at these little angels. Didn't you say you made these? Yes. And our kids
I have five friends. We're called girls. And we all taught in arts and crafts everything.
And all of us got together and made those with our children. So we they're just special.
And they're really cute and unique. I've never seen anything like that.
That was inspired by my dad. My dad loved the outdoors and hunting. And just he just October
was his favorite month. You know the little yellow butterflies that go by? Oh yeah. That's when he
says he knows he knows hunting season is coming. But I made the joy to put on there. That wood came
from my well where he had his hunting club. It came from there. So I have a little piece of that.
So pretty. And you were noticing the the bird houses. They're different. Now these you can
easily make. I did not make these or this one or the star. But I have made before.
And you can just cut cut the die and just decorate them any way you have to.
It's a star. I love those.
I really enjoy. I'm gonna I love antlers of any kind. Oh yeah the antlers. I didn't get it right
These my dad those are all pretty. Every antler you see in here my dad gave me. So I love all
these. But I just put them all together in a wooden bowl. And after I got them together. If
you've ever worked with antlers you know there's kind of a puzzle to it. And then once I got them
together I started just putting my greenery in there. And I'm I found these at um I think I got
these at Ross's. This one and there's one over there. Because I have a quite a few birch pieces
that I'm to me that just I like the way that looks at Christmas. And do you remember Home
Interior? You don't but I bet a bunch of the folks there do. This came from Home Interior.
From a long time ago. That is really pretty. And she has these are the patio lights again huh? Yes.
I just thought that gave it a little different flair than your regular lights.
And they're all battery operated. Unfortunately they're not on timers. So I have to remember to
turn them off. And then all of this right here I love this. I do not have one ATV scene in my house
and I've got to get one. Yes you do. I started collecting those oh I guess in 1969. But I have
all kinds. These are carved. Oh I didn't even see those. And they keep falling down because the kids
keep playing with them. And then once you touch one but they're all tiny tiny tiny. And these
were my mom's. They used to be music boxes but my brother and I tore them up. They don't play
anymore. I wish I could find somewhere to play those. And this one came from Bethlehem also.
And then I just to pick these up all around. This one is a really really old one.
And this is paper. It doesn't look like paper. I know it doesn't does it?
So cool. I just love all different ones.
We love this whole area right here. And yes we do. There's an elf on the shelf.
Even though they're grown. Would you look at my little choir boys.
Aren't they so nice and sweet. Oh they are sweet.
Oh that's funny. Oh my goodness.
The different pieces are not particularly came with the crèche. I just piecemeal them. I bought
different Mary's and like this Mary and this Joseph doesn't match. Nor does the and we don't
even have a baby Jesus here. And these are old. Do you remember well when I was a child
they were the plastic ones came out. And that's one of those. And here's that one too. Oh yeah.
And I use books to stack um cover up a lot of it. And I use a lot of my books to different stack.
And this is something else that I did many long hundred years ago. Oh that's pretty. It's just a
block of wood. And this is is lace. And you just put Lodge Podge on it. Yeah a little bit of glitter.
And you got her made. She's beautiful. There's so much. I wasn't noticing them all until I started
getting them all on camera. Now I can see them all. And the Noel my niece made that for me.
She cut the blocks. And I think the kids she has four children.
And um she made that. The Noel also came and the Joy came from Groupons. And I just they were
unfinished. Uh-huh. And I painted them and put glitter all over them. I love how you just
incorporated everything into that. Even just like the little stars the little peace star and all.
Yes. It's so pretty. And I if I ever pick up I love the anything that reminds you of a nativity
scene. Anything you say. Like this this is that's just that's not even supposed to be a star.
But to me it said star. So I put that up on there.
Fireplace and it is beautiful also. Let me back up.
There we go.
The window is an antique window. It came out of a church close to where I grew up.
And I use it a lot. But I mean Christmas I put the lights behind.
I'm here again with my dear.
That one's really pretty. Where'd you get him?
Rhapsody after Christmas. Okay. And a friend of mine gave me this.
Janice. It's really pretty. So I just brought it in here and put it up. I love realistic
greenery. I added pine cones to that one. I put so much so many things in my greenery that if it's
real bushy you can't see them. So that's one reason that it's small. My mouth is not really wide
either. So I needed something that didn't take up a lot of space. I guess more is more for me.
Yeah more is more for me too. Some people like the simple little things and not much. And I'm
like no more the better. The more the better. And her tree. Oh wait I have to get this little
for her kids. For little grandkids. Oh the light's awful right there. Let's see.
This is so cute. What is this? This is Fisher Price. Yeah and I got it when our first grandbaby
was born. And you would be surprised. Like this weekend we had Braxton who is 12. Boy
rough and tumble. First thing he did was come over here and he lined everything up just like
he liked it in there. That was really cute. I love that one. Oh and then this is another one
of her ideas. Oh yeah. Can you see it? Yeah let's back it up a little bit. There we go.
I did the front and the back one year. One Christmas I was really sick. I had the flu.
Oh I know and I just I have a hard time sitting still. So this was even before
coloring stuff came out. I wish I'd have thought of that and made the books.
And I'm not a drawer. I'm a sketcher. But I've had all the time in the world. So I just did
different the front and the back. And I didn't and I loved them. And I didn't know what I was
going to do. This this is Hershey's. That's what I craved when I had my flu. So Hershey on there.
But I didn't know what I wanted to do with them. And I started you know all these neat
photographs that you get. That you love. All these families. You don't want to throw them
away. Well there's 2013. So I know in 2005. I mean I have I've been doing it for a long time.
And I keep and every time someone comes they'll look through it. The kids look through it.
My nieces and nephews look through it. But I keep all the Christmas cards that.
Jake he's in Afghanistan. And this year they made. I thought this was Abby is my niece.
They made this before he left for their Christmas card. Wasn't that sweet idea.
They're sweet. But I just keep them all in here. Oh and things that I want to remember. Like that's
Bryson. Bryson and that's Brax. And church. They participated in the church. So I can. There's
Anna Claire. So I just kind of keep all kinds of little memories. But mostly it it started out for
the photographs. Because I didn't want to throw them away. Her tree. Oh my goodness. It tells a
story. I have been collecting. I guess the first year my daughter was born. She's 48. I started.
I have things on here that she made. And on the back of the tree. The grandkids always put their
stuff. You see all the things they made. They put it all in the back of the tree.
She has everything on this tree. And it is so cute. I love it. To me. I just look at it.
When I put up my tree. It's like. I could think like this Eureka hunting club. That was my daddy's
hunting club. Well I didn't know what to do with it. But once a year I get to bring it out.
And remember. And think about things. She even has these glasses on here. And they are so cool.
You put them on and they make the lights look like you're looking at reindeer.
And I have something on my tree. That a lot of people would never put on their tree. Yeah I'm
backing up. I'm not a snake person at all. That's my little grandson. Oh my goodness. But now I've
painted these. A long time ago. And from our trip to New York. And San Francisco. And we have
Florence. And Italy. Wherever we go. I try to get something. And this was when we did. We did a
train trip through Switzerland. These are water. But they came from Ireland. From the water.
And you showed me these down here earlier too. Oh yes. These my my sister-in-law lived in Washington
and worked in Washington. And these are the White House. Official White House ornaments.
That the employees could buy. And she bought me one. I have one for just about every year
she was there. This is one of my favorites. So pretty. I like to put them all in a group
where I can see see them all. My friend Mary made this. This is. Oh that is so cute. That's that
coffee. Yeah. But we always New Year's Eve. Bucky's sister, brother-in-law and I. We always
we have this thing we call it midnight and do who let the dogs out.
So but I just I just enjoy. In fact my daughter still likes to come and help me because in the
little teapot up there my mother went crazy. I have so much of that blue and white china. So
but the angel on top. Bucky and I. That's our first angel we ever had. I've changed the lights
out over three times. So. And you made her wings. I made her wings this year. Now that see Bucky
helped me do that. This is just about a story I could tell you with any ornament. So putting up
my tree is just such a joy. And it takes a little while. I love how colorful it is.
I hate it that everybody really can't come into your home because the video just isn't doing it.
How beautiful it is. Come on. We can do that. And I love this little idea. Let's pull it out so it's
not. There's a there's a good thing and a bad thing about having a bank of windows.
The main thing the bad thing is the lighting. The good thing is you can see all of God's creation.
Yes. And I love that. I have a beautiful beautiful view. But I keep a basket full of stuff.
And when we you can put them on anytime you want to. And we take pictures. And before you leave
you'll have to have something on so I can take your picture. So I put it in my book.
But a couple of years we've put it all on. And it's just it's easy because it's out. You don't
have to think about it. You just come on over and come on over and grab something out of there.
And her piano. She made these little trees also. Yes. They're all different.
It's just glue and glitter. Glue and glitter. And then this one is
all chopped up little Tim Holtz Christmas papers. And she made this also. She painted that. I did
when I talked some pretty folk art. So but and here again I used the little these are
not Christmas lights. These were just some that were on the sale shelf at Ross's. And I thought
that'd be different. And this is her beautiful kitchen. Look at her stairwell with the greenery
I really bet my kids if you look close you're going to see all these
scrapes and scratches. But they do not like anything high because they want to talk. Because
we put 12 people around here when it gets time to eat for any holiday or when they come. So I
keep it pretty simple and not high. In fact one Halloween I had the whole thing coming up
through here. My oldest son took the scissors and cut everything. Oh my goodness. He said I can't
see anybody. But another thing that I do that someone had told me many long before. This is
artificial. But this is live. And it makes gives you the feel of the whole room having live. And
the tin basket I just put a sprig of pine in there. And what I'll do with that is I'll put ice
and I put a little water. And when my grandkids come I was showing you this earlier. They love
to eat here. So I take away this china and I put my paper plates here. And they just feel like
yeah that's a great idea. And the plates are so pretty. Hobby Lobby. I love those plates. I did
too. And I took the ribbon that was here and I'll show you on the stair rail how I brought it into
that area. And of course music is my thing. Church choir is my favorite thing in the whole world.
She has some little. And I have a camera everywhere. I'm sure everybody else does too.
I'm always taking pictures. She's having a little party today too. Amy's coming. May-May. Yes May-May
and all the girls that work there are coming. So we're going to have wassail and treats. So I use
the end of my bar. This was one of the things when I designed the house like I was telling you earlier.
There were three things I wanted. I wanted a special place so the kids felt comfortable. I
wanted my washer and dryer off of my bathroom and bedroom. And I wanted a big closet. So Bucky
had his three things. So as long as we got that. We both wanted the big open area. Yeah. Our
grandkids have skated through here and all. But these I love. I got these at TJ Maxx. No no no
Home Goods. Home Goods. Long time ago. My sister-in-law gave me this 15 years ago.
And I always put greenery in it. And I found the little lights. I thought those were so cute.
They're badly operated. I have not seen those. Ross's? Ross. I think I've seen them at Walmart
too now. Really? I have the big straightener that you plug in. But I think they had the small ones
too now. Those little lights are coming back in. Everybody's going to be wanting them. But I love
the little trucks and things. Yes. Is that a Target truck? Yes. Okay. I thought I'd have seen it. Yes.
And see and this. This is what started. I was going. This is what I wanted to be my
inspiration for this year. But I just didn't want to redo everything. So I just made me a
little vignette. A little area. A little area with it. And this is reminiscent of our traveling.
Because it's all postcards. And I got it at TJ Maxx. As you see TJ Maxx, Target. All of those
places are my fave. Can't go wrong there. That's for sure. And then this. This tray is beautiful.
I love this tray. It's old. I got it in a state sale again. And those mugs too. I didn't ask you
where. My mom gave me those mugs. And there is no telling where they came from. So that's. I put
my. That's my tea. There's my tea. And I put honey in my tea. And so I just put it in that guy.
Normally a flower arrangement goes in it. But I never like to use something for what it is.
So. Think outside the box. Well I've got this at the thrift store. Is that not cool?
You got that at the thrift store? I did. And it's. It's. It's the coolest thing.
And it looked old to me. So I put the honey in there. And then I have my.
I have the Dickens Village. And I have like 40 houses. I don't put it out. But about every
two or three years. Uh huh. I just distress so much. But that's my Hershey. It's not from Dickens.
I love that. And look at the flamingos. That's so funny. They got rings around their neck.
I got this at Dirty Santa one year. I had to fight for it.
I finally had to do it. And a friend of mine and her grandson made this for me. Some of my
best friends are flakes. Totally true. That is so cute. Totally true. And I made this. I painted
this. I taught this. And this is fabrics. All of this is fabrics. That I've painted. And of course
took the old music and just modeled the background. Just paint all over it. That's really cute. And
then Mod Podge. So you got like a little snowman in it. Yes. And these. I don't know where Jingle
and Jingle came from. But I'm sure they just spoke to me. Sometimes I'll buy something I have
nowhere. And this is my wassail. My favorite wassail in the whole world. I have a little
commercial here. Is Raven Spice. I use diet cranberry juice and low sugar apple juice.
So I can drink it as much as I want. Keep that in mind. Yes. Because that sounds delicious. But
you can look up Raven Spice online. And it's just really good. I really do. It's not too strong.
Okay. And outside. Oh yeah. The little star. I made the star. My husband and I made the star.
They're yardsticks. And you just shake the star and hammer them together and wrap the white lights.
And I have one you can see. See up close. And the wreath has. That's just a piece of tin with a star.
I wrote a star on there. So pretty. Let me show you. My daughter made this when she was like 15.
Well maybe younger. Probably younger. You can turn him. You can get your back. There we go.
This is just a clay pot. And Bucky drilled a hole in there. And we put the star. These
are just round balls. And these are pots. See. They're clay pots. That is so cute.
Just painted and done some fabric in the stream. Yeah. That is so cute. Over the years this little
staff has gotten. But that's. And here again I just threw some greenery that I cut. I just put
it out here. I didn't design anything. I just put it out here. Here's the. Well we'll have to see
the other one still. We'll see the other one inside. It's kind of bright out here. It is.
Like one afternoon when sunset hits the water. I mean the view is just amazing. And I love all
the light. The windows. That brings in all the natural light. That was one thing I wanted was
all windows. Another thing. When I built the house the one main thing that I wanted to. I
wanted everything to be standard. Because I didn't want anything special made. I'm as rough. Bucky's
rough. The kids are rough. Get something gets broken. I didn't want to have to have a specialty.
Yes. So these are just patio doors instead of windows. Oh. And so that even though they're
broken up glass gets broken it's not a specialty. Oh you have one of those where you can watch the
birds. Yes. My granddaughter is a nature freak. Anything to do with nature she loves. And so we
did that. Love this. This is so pretty. I love these bales.
Now is this real? No. No. This is not. It's not. But also it's the greenery and I added some of
pine cones. I did not add these. I added these. The little ones. These were already in. We don't
have these kind of pine cones. But the little ones I did. So pretty and I love how you draped the
Merry Christmas too. And we were talking about the ribbons over there. I wanted something different.
I didn't want just your bobo's. I wanted it to be kind of loose and free. So I just took a bunch of
the red fabric and then I stripped some bed ticking and added it in there. And just put the
I love the bales. It's not so formal. I didn't want it to be formal.
This is a German hutch that I've had for a long time. The top is an old. It came from Hallmark.
I found it in an old estate sale again and it had votives behind it. But I put lights behind it so
it looks to me like an apartment. Yeah it does. It's like England. It's why everything's so
close in there. And then all of this are houses that I found them at different places. Thrift
store, estate sale, garage sale. And I've had to glue some of them back together.
But look at the pink. Look at the colors. How cool. This is a new one. This is new.
This is part of my Dickens that my daughter gave me. And my plate got curved up a little bit. But
it was, that was one of my things I bought last year. I try to buy one thing. But this,
my friend Ann Cruz made that for me. And I forgot how many thousands and thousands of stitches are
in that. She did that. I think she did that on her embroidery machine. She's amazing. She does
everything you can think of. But I'm having my little, and here's something else I do. You don't
have to get real fancy. These are dipped Oreos and dipped cookies that are already made. These
are made from just your packaged cookies. Oh okay. You know and they taste awesome. Tastes awesome
and they look so pretty too. And it's just really, you don't have to get really really fancy. Just
have a good time. So as you see how old this is, this is broken. So I had to pick something to fix
it. I love this too. This is my secular snowman tree. And my Jesus is the reason. We're gonna
mash them together. It looks so good. I love all the colors. This is my, oh that's a pretty great
ant made this. And she cut the trees out and then she decorated all the trees and then put the
old thing in. It's on felt. That is beautiful. I would have thought you would have bought that.
This was the inspiration for this tree. I also found this red tree and I could not resist it.
Who needs a red tree? I mean I didn't know where I was gonna put it, what I was gonna do with it.
And then I just kind of started, pulled everything off my tree that was either pink
and then I added the hot green when it came in a couple of years ago. I added the hot green
and then the snowman hat. It was just a last minute thought but he turned out cute. I really
did like it. But I have a lot of felt on here. This is an old felt bird and then this garland
is felt. It's holly. See I didn't even see that. I love it. There's so much going on that you could
just keep walking by and see something new. Of course you have to have a diva on a red tree. You
gotta have diva on there. But these are just big flowers I stuck in there. And all of that came
from either Hobby Lobby, Michaels, just all of these different things. I got all of that. Have
you ever bought anything and you just know where you're gonna put it and when you put it there you
that is not gonna work. I bought it from my tree, my big tree, but it just didn't.
It looks really good on this one. I put it to the side to carry it upstairs to put it up
and when I put this one on I said I'm gonna try that and it worked. It did. This tree is so cute.
I love it. There's so much going on. I love it so much. And I've collected the Annabelle
little figures for a long time. I'm fixing to lose those though.
I'm fixing to lose those. My daughter has started collecting them and so she's already taken like
three home. So these are felt also. Yeah I saw those. I like them. Where did you get those?
I don't know. It's been so long. But I do know that I made some that my daughter has. They're
easy. Cut these out of felt, stuff them, put your little veins on them. You can even draw.
That's how I did hers. I drew them on there. And this is I don't know why or where it's just
happened. It's beautiful. I love it. That will go into the guest room.
I love that light. I don't know how a green room. I'm not a big fan of green. I am now but I was
never. I can't believe I have a room that has green things. Charlotte my friend gave me that
lamp. The lamp is beautiful. It is just I love it. But that's my elf tree. The grandkids
love all the old elves. Now the old elves some of these like this one is way old. He's way old.
I think he's actually probably one of the dwarfs. I was about to say he looks like the little dwarfs.
But I have all different. He's mother.
Yeah and there's one on here that just has a head. So I mean you know.
But I just met him. This came from Russia.
Cute. Full of all the little.
A babushka of sorts. This was made. It's clay. It's a little box.
I made that one. Yeah I made that one. These are just old things that I've collected over the years.
Oh that's Santa's box. It's his map. When the grandbabies were little. It started when my
daughter was little. I had the map and we circled where Santa was supposed to come and we would mail
it to him. And he would mail it back and we put it in this box. So this this is one I just picked
up. I love those big books. But they're both you know the opening. Oh look Joy to the World.
That is so cute. That's our travel. This is an old chair I had and it's kind of yucky. But I just
Oh gosh I don't even know. I think I was like 10 or 12. And it's actually a bedspread.
I love that. I love that yellow too. I have a yellow bench at the end of my bed. It's that
exact color yellow.
You are so talented. I love to paint. And I don't I'm not a do one thinger. And I just I can't
sit still long enough to just continually do one thing. This is a Jack and Jill bathroom. Like I
said all of our rooms in the house is in the other room. So these rooms are just small. And that's
I just building all his Santas in there. With his sleigh. And there's his house. I guess the
perspective is a little off. But hey. That candle smells so good. Thank you. I love that from Bath
and Body. Twisted Peppermint. It smells so good. Yes I really like that. It's fresh. It's not it's
not a Chloe smell. Even in this smaller room. It bleeds into the other two rooms. I've seen this.
This is a great idea. I've seen this on Pinterest. How people just throw their
different soaps in there for the guests. My son travels a lot. And he'll save me the little
little things. He comes and stays with us quite a bit. So he always brings me there. Oh I see
another elf buck his foot up. They're hidden everywhere. Yes. And this is what my grandgirls
call their room. They wanted a Viva tree. So we got a mint green tree.
With purples and blues and hot pink and pale pink. And anything that
they felt like fit on that. There's even a peacock on here. Oh I see.
And why they chose a golden silver tree topper with the Noel. It works. It does work. It's so
pretty. And here's a fairy hat that I made. I love to do pictures of the grandbabies. So this is just
simply a all I did was take a coat hanger. Or you can use any kind of wire. Padded it and wrapped
it and felt. And then all of these came just from the thrift store. And I just did the long
ribbons that I have. I had and I put them. And I've got pictures that I've made of them. I love
the little quilts. Thank you. Like I say it's a mix. I'm a mixture. I'm very eclectic. You've got
your modern black dust ruffle. And then these are very old. These are 1800s quilts that I have.
And mixed mixed in with T.J. Maxx pillows.
It's perfect. Thank you. Kitchen. And this is her little coffee bar.
That was one of the things that I wanted because it's
every morning when we were. My husband's the coffee guy. He makes our coffee. But he was underfoot
all day. As you can see there's still coffee in there. But this girl. She's not ugly. She was in
Dirty Santa gift. And everybody. Nobody wanted her. And there's another one in the bathroom in
there. But I loved her. She is. I love it. She's so different. She's got her little hat and her
little polka dot with her little high heels. I just loved her. And I said you know why would
anybody not want her. I know she's so cute. And I'm gonna get in here too because I love it in
here. I love these cabinets. I'll turn this on. Excuse the mess. This is my butler's pantry.
This is where everything collects. But like I said I'm getting ready. There's a story behind
the cabinets. Actually my counter in there was this same thing. Becky said I can't handle it.
So we painted it black. But I kept this. And I told the cabinet guy. I said I want it all in distress.
This was some eight. Well I guess it's closer to nine years ago. So I had him beat it with a chain.
He about died. Brand new cabinets. You're gonna beat it with a chain. All over there. It looks so good.
And then he did this. And the knobs came from TJ Maxx. You can find them everywhere. And look.
And then I love this wall right here. Oh my crosses. Yes. Yeah. When we travel I try to get a cross from
everywhere. But some places I cannot find a cross. And I try to make one. I made this one. This is
when we went to South America. And I found a piece of leather that had South America on it. I just cut
the cross out from there. And then here's this little. Oh yeah. Here's the star. I did not paint this one.
Well I did on this side. Yes I did on this side. But you just lay them out like a star. And nail them.
And then I painted them. They're so pretty. And wrap it with your white
lights. This one got a little bumper jaw. This is so big. And it's so cheap to make too. Yes.
Lows. And it's so cool. Do a quick spin in here again.
This is one of my miniatures. It's a music box. And the
they move. And it plays Silent Night. And all these little miniatures. A friend of mine made that one.
That's hot glue. And the bird's not. But the rest of it's hot glue. What? And a little almond
walnut shell. And this one is a walnut shell too. That is so cute. I can't believe that is hot glue.
Now what is this? Oh this is what God wants for Christmas. And you can go online. It's an
interactive kid-friendly nativity. And what you do. And I do this with my grandkids. Of course I
don't have them 10 days before Christmas. But we do it all in one time. When I can get them all
together. It comes with a little book. And you can order it online. This one's kind of cracked.
But this is the little kit. And then eight days it starts telling the nativity story.
And each box has something to read out of the book. And when you take the box out it has the
character. Oh my goodness. That you're talking about. And they set it up in their nativity.
And the last one is what God wants for Christmas.
And it's one of the kids has gotten the mirror. There's supposed to be a mirror in there.
Oh that's so cute. Let me see if it's on seven. Let me see if it's on seven. There it is. It's in
seven on the seventh day. That's what God wants for Christmas. He wants you. Sorry about that.
I apologize to my grandkids for accusing them to get in the mirror.
But that's what he wants. And it sets up the nativity saying. And then the gift that God
wants is you. So that's. I've been doing this for a long time. I've given each one of my grandkids
one. And I'll look up here where I got it. It's the Family Life Publishing is where I ordered it
from. That's really really cute. It is. And it's it's it's just the week before Christmas.
And everybody and they just really they enjoy doing it all in one time. Now what I do is I
have the grandkids read the stories. Or tell it. They can tell the stories though. By now they can
tell it because they've been doing it so long. Or they can tell the story. But this is an old
piece that is in my grandmother's house. And I'm sure probably my Pawpaw made it.
But I don't know. It's very pretty. But I've seen the corner pieces but not like that.
Well you know they didn't have very much money. This has a door. And of course it's broken. But
I think that Pawpaw made that. But don't you look at my bathroom.
Her little guest bathroom. I love this. Look how cute this is. That's an urn.
I'm gonna get myself in the mirror.
The trick to this is you have to have a two inch pipe to drain. So we had to find somebody to
drill a two inch hole down through this whole thing so we could make it there. And we finally
found somebody in Montgomery that would do it. And I just happened to just, thank you Jesus,
found this. It fits perfectly. Yeah it's a copper sink. And then I love to put the greenery in it.
And it bounces off into the rocks. That is so pretty. I've never seen anything like that.
Well I just wanted to do some different things. That's definitely different. I love it.
And can I show you my grandmother? Yes. Oh yes. That's my grandmother. Look at that.
I'm 67 so she, there's no telling how old that is. They had to drag her out from under the porch
to make that picture. And look at her blue eyes. She had the bluest eyes. My mother had blue eyes.
You can see that. Let me see. Let's turn up this light.
Nope. But anyway, I have her there. The reason I have her there is it is the actual photograph
and the actual frame. And when I was going to go and have it restored, he said don't restore it.
He said just put it where there's no sunlight. Oh okay. And that's the only place I have that
there's no sunlight. So I just think it was hilarious to hear her tell that tale about them
dragging her. She said, had one foot dragging me out. She said it was holding onto the beams.
And then to add insult to injury, that made me hold flowers.
Well I love that. That's something you will cherish forever. Oh yes I do. I do. From the
beach one day. You said it was a picture of your daughter? Yes. The red hair. And
she has red hair. But that was her picking up things out of the water. I guess she was nine,
eight or nine. That's so pretty. You do such great work. Oh thank you. These are watercolors I did.
I used to teach watercolor a long time ago. And those are different ones that I did.
It's been a long time. And these are old books. I think they're cool as they could be. I just
couldn't make myself. They're ornaments. Oh my goodness. Where did you find those?
A friend of mine is still in antique business. She and I used to be in business together. We
made antique clothing out of antiques. And then this is another one. And that's my husband's
kick kicked for Alabama. And that's his kicking shoe. And I'll move this. He was number seven.
Our son painted that for him. And those are his two kicking shoes. Way back when in the 70s.
If there's a guy watching he'll love this. See it's got the square toe on it.
Oh I love that roll tie. I know. My husband's an Auburn fan.
Well I have a little story. The same time my husband was playing for Alabama,
my brother played for Auburn. Oh gosh. And my first cousin played for Vandy. So
we were an SCC group. I'm so glad you came. I appreciate it so much. I hope your viewers
enjoy it. Thank you so much. You're welcome here anytime you want to. I love it. I know
they're going to love it too. Thank you so much for letting us come into your house today. You're
so welcome anytime.
