About three weeks ago I packed up my life and hopped a one-way flight to London.
Today's the day. I'm obviously very excited but I do kind of have mixed emotions just because
like I'm so excited to get to London and start my life and everything but I'm also leaving a very
familiar and comfortable environment with people that I love and it's just gonna be a big
adjustment and it's a lot to process. If you see me crying later it's not that I'm not excited
it's just that there's a lot going on. Update. I keep crying. Yeah so the emotions really hit me
all at once but after I said goodbye to my family at the airport the worst of it was over and the
excitement finally kicked in. I'm in London. I'm so exhausted you don't even know. I still have to
go get like groceries and bedding for my bed and everything and I think I'm gonna turn in for the
night. I spent the first week or so running back and forth to the store to get essentials and my
go-to place was the Lewisham shopping center because they have everything but I've been there
so many times now that I will be happy if I never have to go there again. I also managed to set up
my cell phone plan through giftgaff, mail off my covid test, pick up my residency permit, get an
oyster card, and sign up for a 20 pound a month coffee subscription so that I don't go broke
buying coffee. But it wasn't all quite so boring. On the third day I decided to meet up with Zoe
Griffin who's an amazing photographer and she took some pictures of me in Westminster because I just
thought it would be fun to have some photos of my first week to look back on. Okay I've just finished
with Zoe. She was so nice and so helpful and just very professional and I think the pictures are
gonna turn out really great. Yeah I'm so excited. I'm gonna hang out here for a little bit and then
head back to Greenwich. Well I obviously did bad vlogging today but honestly I feel like what
I've done all day is not the content that you would like to see in a London vlog but I'm still
going to show you what I did because it's it's really the real life of moving to London. Went to
the store, I got some groceries, and then I organized my wardrobe because I hadn't unpacked yet
and um it's kind of sparse to be honest. I need my next suitcase to be shipped. I also cleaned
in the bathroom so when I first got here, well every time I've taken showers since I've gotten here,
the limescale that up on that shower head has been so bad that it made the water spray
everywhere. So I cleaned that off and it seems to have helped a lot. I also sprayed WD-40. Sorry I'm
like waving the camera so much. I also sprayed WD-40 on the track so it would open easier. Oh I
should do it on the top too. And then I worked on some uh coding workshop stuff for my program
because I'm supposed to basically know how to code before class starts and I I'm getting it down but
it's just it's going to be a process. So yeah that's been my day. I forgot to say that um Zoe
sent me the like low resolution files to choose from last night and then she got them edited by
today so she's amazing. Thank you Zoe. Um so I'm going to post those soon. I have more errands to
run today if you can even believe it. Before that I wanted to head up to the observatory and it was
so worth the walk. It was amazing and there were these kids playing on the hill and it was just a
great a great time. So really glad I did that. Now I have to head back to the Lucia Mall or shopping
area for more stuff for my room. I still don't have a quilt. I don't have like drawers for things.
It's there's a lot of work to be done um and so I feel like this first vlog is not the most
entertaining. I mean it's been exciting for me because I've started my life here and everything
but I feel like the future vlogs will be much better so make sure to subscribe and stay tuned.
Morning. It's a welcome fair day. I'm gonna go with my flatmates and it should be fun. Okay that
was crazy. We went to the welcome fair and then um we decided to get something to eat so we were
at our table eating and then the fire alarm goes off. We all had to go outside and they kept pushing
us further and further away from campus but my friend and I took our food with us on our like
actual real plates so we were just I was just carrying around noodles on a plate and for a
minute I thought I was just gonna have to carry that plate with me for the rest of my life. And
to finish off my first week in London I booked a nail appointment in Mayfair so I could get out
and explore and I had such a great day. I'm going to get my nails done in Mayfair which is kind of
far away but I purposely did that because I want to get out and explore a different part of the
pretty good day. I am so excited to see what life has in store for the rest of my time in London
and of course I will be sharing it with you so make sure that you subscribe
and follow me on Instagram and TikTok if you want to follow along and I'll see you soon.
