House cat photobombs weather forecast Animalkind

So we are just kind of stuck in this unsettled pattern, kind of like other people I know here. They're like, you've got to have that cat on or else. And so I was like, okay, okay, so we'll keep it going. I think everybody, you know, when this all happened with the pandemic, in the back of your mind, we thought, well, we're going to probably have to work from home. But how do you do that TV, especially with weather, because we've got a green screen and computers and all that stuff. So the cat is in here and it's, oh, pick her up. Let's take a look. So I picked Betty up and they said, oh, put her on TV. And I said, oh, we'll create a monster if we put a cat on TV. And they said, oh, go for it, go for it. Do you ever wonder what Jeff Lyons does in between takes? Let's find out. There are some benefits to working from home, as much as I'd like to be back there with everybody. Betty here, this is the Lyons household cat, seems to be enamored of all the lights. Because she's been such an essential fixture here, work at home, we're going to bestow upon her the highest honor we can give in the weather department. And that is, Betty, your own lower third graphic. Check it out. So I put it on my Facebook page, my professional Facebook page at the station, and the thing went viral, which was a shock. At first, I thought, well, I'm going to have to wool her around or she's going to have to do a trick or whatever. And then I thought, no, maybe just let her be a cat. She's walking out on me. I knew that would happen. It's a little bright spot. I didn't realize how important that was until I started reading, you know, comments and feedback from people all over the world, not just here, you know, where I broadcast, but people in Malaysia, Australia, you name a country, we've heard from them. And they say, we want Betty. They don't want me. Check this out. I have heard from so many people around the country. Betty has been seen in just about every state across. We even have new technology here. Betty, the weather cat tracker. Not only has she been seen in the U.S., she's been seen in Spain, England, a couple other countries in Europe, and also in Australia, way down under. We will see you a little later on. And Betty says goodbye to the tri-state. Maybe she'll give you a little tail wag there, too. All right.
