Welcome back to popcorn scary not too scary october But actually guys Oh, I know I do this to myself, but i'm getting so worked up all day even talking about it just makes my heart pound But um, I am watching nightmare on elm street. I have carefully researched Consulted with horror movie experts, you know, I want to lean into the spooky push my limits without giving me nightmares for months What do I know about nightmare elm street? Well, I know there's been a lot of remakes I know it's from the 80s. I think it's kind of like the movie halloween, which I did watch last year You can check out that reaction as scary as halloween was and and it was I mean if you truly think about it just beyond horrifying I was actually more scared of the paranormal stuff as in the shining And the others which is surprising even to myself thinking back. I know this has another famous villain I think I thought that they all wore hockey masks, but I don't this guy doesn't no and michael myers wasn't wearing a hockey mask He was wearing a weird mask who wears the hockey mask so far I've watched the birds with carly which was creepy and bizarre, but this will be the first like Really scary movie. I've got some other ones coming up No, i'm not gonna watch the exorcist. Sorry, but like I said i'm trying to find the balance of pushing my comfort zone and not you know hurting my soul And i'm balancing it this month with some season two of mandalorian episodes as well as some Fun halloween comedies like sean of the dead young frankenstein. We've got interview with the vampire coming up. So it's gonna be fun. Oh that was truly Freaky Okay after this movie ended I went to go look at my phone see what time it was it was dead So I go over to plug it in next to the charger and I sit on the ground next to the charger and my mind Immediately starts playing tricks on me Like there's a mirror in front of me and I thought I really thought if I looked in it I would see freddy krueger And then I started thinking about hands coming out from out of the bed where i'm sitting What it's our minds do this to us, right with these scary movies And that's what this whole movie was about which I don't know if that makes it brilliant or like the scariest thing I could ever imagine because it's Like our minds play tricks on us and it's basically saying that what could be in our minds and these tricks are real Oh Holy crap Some of those jump scares I know Haters are gonna say it's fake You can ask any of my friends and my husband my kids. I am the jumpiest human Ever I try to mentally prepare myself and I just it's like my heart. It's electrocuted Oh my gosh I don't get the ending. I don't get it. I thought we were gonna have this ending But we saw nancy defeat him Because she took away his power And I loved that and then she's in a dream again, or that was her mom's dream Or freddy's dream. I don't understand. Are the kids really dead? Is johnny depp really dead? There were some issues with the movie for sure and that I actually am happy about because that makes it seem less real when there's like issues. Why did her dad act so? nonchalantly after He saw a burning man on top of his ex-wife and then float into a blue light down into the mattress and disappear and he's just like Oh, that was weird like why had no one heard of freddy krueger if Her mom as a mother like that would have been like town news I'm sure he would have been like I guess he was an urban legend with those little kids Creepily singing and then at the doctor's like obviously he's like i've never seen anything like this And she wakes up with gray hair and a cut and then he just lets her go home. No See i'm happy for things like this because i'm I'm tricking my mind into the holes of a movie So it can't be that scary if it's just a movie with holes Sleep is supposed to be safe And coming from a person who has a lot of nightmares a recurring one about wolves What does that mean? So basically what i'm saying is the whole idea around it is kind of different and creative and horrible I get why this is a cult classic even though the mom especially was not a good actress to me and there was just some weird interactions with A lot of people but he was a pretty terrifying villain Disgusting i'm trying to think who is scarier michael meyers Or him the fact that he killed children like well michael meyers Was a child and killed his own sister I don't know I don't know.
