原上草乐队 (Yuan Shang Shao Yue Dui, The Original Prairie Grass Band), is an undergroung street band from Shenzhen City, Guandong Province, China. They play covers on different Chinese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese bands, including Tang Dynasty and Ershou Meigui, and also Cantopop and Western singers like Andy Lau and Eric Clapton. Though this band sings a lot of political songs, they aren't pursued by police or officials, because Shenzhen has much less restrictions than any other city in PRC, and central government now became much more tolerant to rock music, but still doesn't allow it on professional stage; another reason is that rock music is generally not popular in China even without ideological restrictions. If you ever come to wonderful Shenzhen and be around Book City in the evening after 5 p.m., you have many chances to witness this band playing.

[Original by Lun Sang] Lyrics and Music by Li Zongsheng
I heard you say that high-rise buildings have a humorous atmosphere
There's not much alcohol in the empty room
You're used to telling the truth and it causes you pain
Then don't linger
Time once gone will not return
You gaze far into the sky
You don't understand
Let your feelings linger in your heart
When it's cold Don't
feel pain
Foolish luck is a tear with a smile
Point your finger and run forward
Wait every second and every moment
If I have matured tonight
what use is there to start over
[Original by Lun Sang] Lyrics and music by Li Zongsheng
Then don't stay behind
Time passes and never returns
You look far away at the sky
Hold your loving feelings in
your heart When it's cold
Don't feel sad
Foolish luck is a tear with a smile
Point your finger and run forward
Wait every second and every mome
If I have matured tonight
what use is there to start over
Silly luck is a smile through tears
Fingers point forward and run
Waiting every second
If I matured tonight
What's the use of starting over
