Live from The Session 2022

Right, I'm live, amazing, so sorry I didn't put any good naughty, naughty Damien there, lurking around, backlit, all angelic. I'm at the session convention and I didn't, I didn't know whether I was going to be able to do this, so nobody's going to be watching this probably, or a few of you may come, but a lot of you'll be watching it afterwards, but the actual convention starts tomorrow. I'm here just to kind of set up and have a look around and kind of make you, obviously it starts in the, in the afternoon, so, morning, sorry, so it's getting here, you know, I'm not going to drive down to Sheffield the next day, but anyway, that's boring, but what I thought I'd do is just talk to you about the fact that every day I'm going to be doing what I did three years ago, which was, how you doing, begging bros, good to see you. What I tend to do is I review every day of this convention or other ones when I go there, so I'll be reviewing, watching, taking notes on the lectures the next morning, recording and then editing and reviewing the previous day, if all goes well, so you'll get a daily review. They won't be live, I might do the odd random live thing. I'm at the session convention, that's where I am, in London Heathrow, so I thought I'd show you a couple of cool things that I hadn't seen because I wasn't at Blackpool, and so I'll talk you through them, but I want Damien to show you this, because we've just, hey, see you this weekend Nigel, good to see you, so look, look at this, I thought this was just, so tell us about this, Damien, talk into that a bit. Hi Steve's live people, this is the new card display box, look, you see, all quality hinge, madam, and come in close for the lovely velvet, and so you can have drawers with your cards in, but also, and this is a lovely bit, it's modular, so you can buy them one bit at a time, and close your thumb. I'm really, really upset that wasn't this, will be coming to vanishingmagic.com very shortly. Steve, someone's talking to you, Steve, all right, okay, Steve, I'm at the session, yay, John, nice one, how do I get it up again, oh my gosh, oh there you go, remember, of course, if possible, see you live, rather than I'm doing, yeah, I'm going to be around, loads of people there, Nigel Quinn's there, all the people, right, yeah, and that's actually something I haven't seen yet, is the video chat magic book, it's good, isn't it, let me put my mic on, and I'll show you a couple of other things, that I wasn't until very recently aware of, yeah, so I'm going to be on Zoom, you asked me about the card, of course, I'm going to do a Zoom, obviously for the people that aren't here, from my room, at six till seven, or maybe it won't be till seven, I haven't got anything to do a session on, but yeah, can I say hello, definitely, I'll be filming and stuff like that, so if I look like I'm being anti-social sometimes, it's only because I'm filming, but here we go, some things I didn't know about, what's that, I know it's a t-shirt, but is it selling, or is it a t-shirt, I know, it's selling, it's from Vanishing Ink Wonders, our fine range of home and leisure wear activities, this is turning into a Vanishing Ink advert, isn't it, which is good, it's good for the people that always accuse me of being, so many people accuse me of being affiliated with Vanishing Ink, and here I am, not really, optics, show me, tell me about that, well, well, look, I didn't know about this, oh it's all backwards, isn't it, yeah, I know, I haven't clicked it, it's only available here, Christian Grace's new, yeah, this is, so some of this stuff is, that's not released, not released yet, 52 Explorations, the follow-up to 52 Memories, which, oh that's a good shot, which we never, which we never told anyone was going to be a book, but it's a book, yeah, and if you like easy, beautiful, beautifully structured visual card magic, Jack Parker was the man, yeah, absolutely amazing as well, I vouch for that, astonishing essays, I've got a story about when I got my 52 Memories book, which I would never tell anybody, maybe over alcohol in a bar, cylinder and coins, you know that John Ramsey bloke, he was quite good at doing this, Josh has got his out, not yet, only if you're in session, I think the hotel's full up, so I don't really know why we're plugging in, no one's, no one's going to come now, is it full, um, oh, there we go, yeah, well, I haven't really, I've talked about this on the interview, it is, were you saying that someone on Facebook has calculated the weight, it's 0.27 grams per trick, there's 878 tricks in there, which is 13 cents a trick, it's a veritable bargain, look at that, isn't it, there are not very many of these left, so if you were thinking about getting it, then you need to, it's The Mental Mysteries of Hector Chadwick by Stephen Long, who works for Darren Brown, yeah, I've got one to review, I haven't reviewed it yet, uh, Guy Hollingworth, you've got a deck of cards, bricks, yeah, bricks of cards, yeah, bricks of cards, got my eye on one of them, this isn't out yet, I didn't know about this either, lovely little book there, pretty book, isn't it, there you go, thanks mate, look at that, that was a nice little sales pitch, wasn't it, um, I don't know why it's so light, it's terrible, you'll have to excuse me, um, but, oh yeah, Damien's coming up with his massive giant, it's not a regular close-up, let me go away so you can see how big it is, look at that, I'm so glad we, I'm so glad we've got this, because you sent me one of them to review and I forgot, but I've officially got ADHD now, so I've got a great reason, I've got a good reason to forget everything, um, right, yeah, amazing, Anthony, um, yeah, I kind of, I missed Blackpool, so I feel better about being here now, I kind of was going to do Blackpool and then worried about it, but it's exciting, isn't it, so, um, the miracle one is an Akan, it's Christian Grace's any card at any number, I think, ish, don't quote me on any of this, all right, because I know I should know these things, um, but I don't, I know way, there's way more things that I don't know than I do, so I'm excited about that, I'm excited about that Luke Jermay book, a little tiny book, and, um, and of course that, which I won't get, I won't get, I'm not going to get one of them to review, so what can you say about that, so let me see what the chat is going on, oh, a live chat, uh, so this is well waffly, but like I said at the beginning, if you weren't here, I'm going to be reporting from this every day, not live, I might do it live, but I don't, it might be easier to do what I usually do, which is edit something together every morning after the previous day, um, so hi Matthew, how you doing, yes, good, hey from Portugal, how you doing, brulafu, uh, thanks Stefan, uh, John, going to see you, um, hey Damien, I'll pass on your regards, we'll just be selling, talk about tricks, yes, he is, so we've got it here, I've just seen Josh, he's actually very busy, but they're the guys, um, setting everything up, there's Damien over there, Josh is, I don't know, doing things on laptops, um, but yeah, so, so that's the, so actually, I'm aware that my picture's flipped, which is a shame, there you go, uh, love this stand, yeah, it's good, isn't it, Steve getting the scoop, yeah, Jack Parker, legend, yeah, it's, um, yeah, it's lovely to see his work published, actually, it was even, even, um, obviously with 52 memories, but to see more, more of his work published, um, from Andy's great, and I don't think there's anything else I haven't seen here, no, but I will, like I said, I'll do some random lives, oh look, see, there's just decks of cards everywhere, look, they're just lying around, I could, I could, I could just nick one, couldn't I, nobody would know, of course I'm not going to do that, but I am interested in these, I'm not really a deck collector, um, but look at them Guy Oliworth cards, you kind of want it, don't you, because it looks pretty, so I will see you, um, hello, hi from Dublin, hey, Colin, how you doing, how much for the t-shirt, I don't know, but what would be my reaction if David Blaine or Shim Lim comes here, I'm a bit terrible, um, I never know what to say to people, I'm not very good, I am good socially, kind of, when I'm, sometimes, but when people I don't know turn up, I'm not one of those people, I don't really have anything to say, so I get a bit, sort of, um, tongue-tied, but, uh, but we'll see, unless I'm doing something like this, which is, which is, you know, easy, but, well, for me anyway, uh, right, I'm gonna go now, I think, any more questions, um, but, but, but my reaction will be, if Shim Lim and David Blaine get, will be clearly, oh my god, that's amazing, and I'll probably jump on live, uh, do you have a prize for guys bricky cut, what's, yeah, look, we got people interested already, Damien's lurking around, he just lurks around, he doesn't do anything, he just doesn't know things or lurk around, it's just kind of like a sympathy thing, they just have to keep, they, it's hard to sack people now, isn't it, so they, Michal, they have to go through tribunals and stuff, so I'm sure they've, there's been efforts, um, Michal, are you coming here, that'd be good, wouldn't it, uh, Frank from Tampa, Florida, good to see you, or good to hear, see your comments, I suppose, how much is, you don't know how much the Brick of Bikes, the Brick of Guy Oliver cars are, is it, has it released, oh yes, I think it's not like, I don't, I don't know things, there you go, it's on the site, apparently, post some Instagram stories while you're there, yeah, I should do that, but I've got eight Instagram accounts, I'll never know what one to put it on, uh, I'll put it on the Real Magic Review one, that'd be good, wouldn't it, see you tomorrow, ask please, I will, but I haven't, you don't, you don't know anything, yes, it is in London, um, it certainly is, so, uh, yes, so I will see you, maybe I will do the live ones every day, because it'll save me editing, won't it, but it won't be able to cut in any footage, uh, all right, so I might see you live, if you see me pop up live, come and say hello, so make sure your notifications are on, your bells, I might as well say it, go and check out onlinemagic.co, unfortunately, I won't be attending, fingers crossed for 2020, Michal, I would love to see you, we've had so many correspondents, it'd be great, um, but have a good one, any questions, put them in the comments after this, when this has gone live, and, uh, so, because, show them some stuff, all the best, by the way, yeah, yeah, yeah, so I should get some footage, I won't do it live, because I won't be able to cut in the stuff, unless I do a one at the end, when I get back, um, who am I most looking forward to? I love to, yeah, seeing Damien, I have been looking forward to seeing Damien, because I haven't seen him in three years, and he's, look at him, looking all svelte, he'll have people come up to him all weekend, going, have you lost weight, or are you ill, because that's what happens, that's what happened to me, yeah, uh, when, oh, the new, I do know this, the new Jack Parker book will be available online Monday after this week, so I don't know if that's, this, this Monday, I think, Damien's best, yeah, Damien's very, we've, it's been, like, it's lovely to see him, and I don't really see many people, so it's going to be, uh, great, and slightly anxiety, anxious as well, but there you go, hey, who said you're nice, yeah, yeah, he says thank you, so have a great one, I will go now, because I'm literally talking utter nonsense, as if I've been doing anything but that, throughout this whole thing, so, uh, any comments on crown deck, Damien, it's regal, there you go, he angles, yeah, he knows less than me, I'm like a film reviewer, that knows nothing about, I only know about the products that I review, not anything else, go, right, see you later, everybody, have a great one, and, um, that's with a 25 pound, what's with the 25 pound post-out, every time I want to go, someone keeps me on, which is good, because, you know, after this, I've got to talk to him, which will be, you get 25 pounds spend at the Vanishing Ink booth, when you register for the session 2023, because obviously the session 2023 is going to happen in January, because this is a delayed one, from the Covid, so in order to persuade people that it's a good idea to register now, for the session that's going to happen in January, we're doing a little, but do they get that only when and I don't get that anyway, so no, if you're hearing it, that's what it is, if you're here and you register for 2023, um, you get that, but saying that it's going to be very busy, isn't it, don't go, oh yeah, it'll be like my street show's got at the end, at the end of my street performing career, when gradually the audience would decline, because I was just talking nonsense and jabbering on, right, I'm gonna go, because you gotta be, the numbers are declining, uh, quite understandably, sorry about the bad, it's really light here, so the lighting's terrible, uh, take care everybody, have a go, oh, who am I looking forward to, oh gosh, oh yeah, Mike Caveney and Tina Lennart, um, huge, love Mike Caveney and Tina Lennart, um, met them years ago at a gig with Lucid Matos, haven't seen them since, but I love, uh, listening to them speak and talk and perform, so they're really, really, really looking forward to that, but everybody, you know, I like being surprised, I always get surprised and see a couple of people I don't know loads about, so, um, yeah, I kind of look forward to seeing the unknown and going to see people I might think, oh, that might be all right, and always get surprised, so, right, take care everybody, have a great one, bye.
