With so many manufacturers now developing their own electric vehicles,
the race to stand out is intensifying. With a focus not just on performance,
but to also offer an unrivaled luxurious experience, there's now a range of choices
that feel ahead of their time, and have features far beyond what we're used to in an entry-level EV.
In today's video, we'll be taking a look at some of the most exciting
future luxury electric vehicles that will be coming to a showroom near you.
Audi A6 e-tron. In early 2021, Audi revealed the A6 e-tron concept
that shows where the company plans to take electric vehicle design in the coming years,
and one that they expect will enter production before 2023. Based on a dual electric motor
system that generates 470 horsepower, it's been designed for performance as well as poise.
The 100 kWh battery pack will deliver a max range of up to 435 miles, and 4 second 0-60 times.
Exterior-wise, the A6 e-tron resembles a futuristic version of Audi's recognisable
A-series sedans. Next generation additions include animated OLED headlights,
road protection turn signals, and invisible door handles. This gives the sense of elegance before
you get inside, but it's the interior cabin that truly elevates the experience even further.
Audi takes a pared-back approach, so there will be two infotainment displays,
plenty of interior room for four adults, and with virtually silent motors,
it's one of the most serene interiors of any luxury car available.
Cadillac Celestique. Traditionally known for producing gas-guzzling land yachts,
Cadillac is now changing its reputation and expanding its EV lineup with the ultra-luxurious
Celestique, a sedan that will soon become the company's flagship model. It's claimed to have
four-wheel steering, all-wheel drive, a range of around 400 miles, and make 0-60 sprints in
the three-second range. But it's not only performance that sets the Celestique apart.
Cadillac has incorporated a number of new technologies into the interior,
which will truly make it a revolutionary vehicle. From the curved touchscreen dashboard,
to premium materials like Nappa leather, open-pore wood, and sophisticated metal accents.
The roof that's been made up of four glass panels that can each be individually operated
to actively change their transparency. Serious thought has been put into ensuring everyone in
the car, not just the driver, is surrounded in luxury. Even the rear passengers have personalized
entertainment screens, and a central console display for individual comfort settings.
As Cadillac's future flagship sedan, the Celestique is set to re-establish a new standard
in American luxury EVs. Lincoln Zephyr Reflection
Designed to target the Chinese luxury market, the Lincoln Zephyr Reflection appears to indicate
what future Lincoln luxury sedans could look like. It may not mean much for the US,
but it's interesting to envision an alternate trajectory for Lincoln. The exterior has flush
door handles, huge air intakes, alongside the hexagonal beam grille, an LED light strip
connecting the headlights, and marker lights that activate as you approach or leave the vehicle,
in what are known as the embrace and farewell features. For the interior, there's what Lincoln
calls a coast-to-coast screen, which is a high-resolution display spanning the entire
dashboard. Split into three sections, the driver and passenger can operate the screens independently
to one another, meaning that on one side they'll be driving assistance technology,
while the other side can be displaying a movie. The styling of the interior lighting and displays
is inspired by the night sky, and you can't help but thinking this feels more like flying a
spaceship than it does driving a car. Geely Zika 001
The Geely Zika 001 is the Chinese company's first electric vehicle design that's entering
mass production, and it's truly one of the most stunning looking EVs that's been created so far.
Classed as a shooting brake body style, the fastback design looks similar to the Porsche
Panamera Sports Turismo. Aimed at the premium luxury segment, there are some incredible features
in the 001. It will have, for example, automatic air suspension that will alter the ground clearance
depending on user requirements, and there'll also be facial recognition technology that
automatically opens the doors as known drivers or passengers approach, and will close behind
them once they're inside. It'll be available in a choice of configurations, with the top spec
having 536 horsepower. After spending countless hours testing it on racetracks, the Geely
engineers have clocked 0-60 times of 3.8 seconds, and top speed in excess of 124 miles per hour.
Geely claims they've replicated the thrill of driving a high-performance combustion engine
vehicle in an electric one, and if they're right, this could well be the most fun you
can currently have in an EV. NIO ET7. If you tend to drive long distances each day, most EVs may not
live up to your needs in terms of how far they can travel before needing to be recharged, but
with a claimed range of 621 miles, the ET7 is proof that electric vehicles can rival the range
distances of their petrol counterparts, while traveling luxurious comfort at the same time.
The ET7 is able to achieve these numbers because of its 150 kWh battery pack, which is currently
the largest used in any electric car, and it's compatible with the company's battery swap
technology, whereby batteries can simply be exchanged at a swapping station instead of
needing to wait while they recharge. Above the windshield you may have noticed a small bulge,
and that's where the true tech of the ET7 is hidden. It contains 33 high-performance sensing
units that generate a whopping 8 gigabytes of data per second, and this gives it one of the
most advanced autonomous driving capabilities ever developed. Add to this a 12.8-inch touchscreen
control display, 5G connectivity, Nomi voice-activated assistant, and a 1000-watt 23-speaker sound system.
There's no doubt the ET7 will rival the likes of Mercedes and BMW. Lucid Air. The incredibly
looking Air is the flagship sedan from Lucid Motors of California, and is targeted at the
luxury sports segment. With four progressive trim levels, the top-spec Dream Edition has a maximum
power output of 1080 horsepower, making solid competition for the Model S Plaid. The Air is
loaded with advanced options, which include the DreamDrive driver assistance system, which uses
14 cameras and 5 radar units, 12 short-range ultrasonic sensors, and LiDAR, which combine to
fully map the car's surroundings. Inside there are four high-resolution screens, three of which
are touch sensitive, as well as a 10-speaker sound system, 12-way power adjustment for the front
seats, and a number of optional extras, such as active suspension, a panoramic sunroof, reclining
rear seats, an improved sound system, and even heated and massaged seats. For added convenience,
the batteries used are specifically designed to have a longer operating life, even when run through
multiple fast charging cycles, and they've also been made with a reverse charging function, meaning
you can use the car to charge another car, or power any other electrical device you may need.
Prices are starting at $70,000, while the Dream Edition can exceed $170,000.
Bentley EXP100 GT. Bentley is a mark that's synonymous with style and luxury, so it's no
surprise that their concept vehicle, the EXP100 GT, has taken the idea of the electric car to a
whole new level. From the moment you see its exterior, you know that this is no ordinary Bentley,
with its curved lines and scissor doors, but it's the hidden technology within that's truly
groundbreaking. This isn't a model that'll be available anytime soon, but is what Bentley is
using to show customers where its future is headed. It's level five fully autonomous,
while everything inside is controlled by a proprietary artificial intelligence software
called Bentley Personal Assistant. The car will automatically detect who is in it, and will adjust
all of the settings to their preference. Furthermore, it will learn and even predict
what you will want, so will change the interior atmosphere, depending on your preference,
and, according to the company, will mean the vehicle creates extraordinary passenger experiences.
With four electric motors, it's expected to have a top speed of around 186 miles per hour,
and acceleration from 0 to 60 in just 2.5 seconds. Taking Bentley's futuristic design
throughout the bespoke interior, this will surely be the most aspirational EV in the world,
when it's finally available, and cost around 1.9 million dollars. Rolls-Royce Silent Shadow.
When you think of a car company that has set the benchmark in extravagant luxury,
Rolls-Royce would be first in mind, and the company has applied the same principles to the
electric concept, the Silent Shadow. From the outside, it's recognizable as a Rolls-Royce,
with its prestigious design, but elements have been softened to give it a futuristic feel.
Specifics of the drivetrain remain in mystery, but it will most likely be developed by parent
company BMW, to generate 311 miles of range from a 100 kilowatt hour motor. The BMW iX and i4
should give us some clues. Overall, details of this project remain slim for now, but if we know
anything about Rolls-Royce, it can be assumed that no detail will be missed, in fitting the
interior to be the most lavish, relaxing, and entertaining it possibly can be. Vision Mercedes
Maybach 6. The sleek and elegant Vision Mercedes Maybach 6 is a four-seat coupe that the German
manufacturer has been developing for the past five years. Undoubtedly a Mercedes from its appearance,
it's already been used in music videos and movies because of its futuristic credentials.
Managed by a four-motor all-electric all-wheel drive platform, it delivers a max output of
750 horsepower and accelerates to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds. The proposed 200 mile
range and quick charge function, that produces 60 miles in just five minutes of charging,
is even more impressive. At approximately 20 feet in length, the Maybach 6 extracts dramatic
proportions of Art Deco, with the elongated hood to the rounded boat tail that's reminiscent of a
luxury yacht. Every aspect moves seamlessly into the next. It's capped off by special appointments
like 24-inch wheels and the vertical grille inspired by a pinstripe suit. The gull-wing
doors add an extra sense of style, while it's also available in a soft top cabriolet. The Vision
Mercedes Maybach 6 is a bold attempt in the future of automotive architecture, which truly brings
back classic designs and makes the electric vehicle not only eco-conscious, but an absolute
joy to behold and drive to. Which luxury EV would you most like to own yourself? And are there any
