When I came across this lamp on Facebook Marketplace,
I knew I needed to recreate my own version.
So I headed to Lowe's and got a couple pieces
of select pine boards and I just got them at varying widths
and then I cut them down to perfect squares
based off of those widths.
Once they were all cut down, I sanded down the edges
so they were nice and clean and then used a drill bit
to drill down the center of every single piece of wood
that we created and I also picked up this light cord kit
at Lowe's and you're going to be stringing
your wood pieces on almost as beads
and then using wood glue and a brad nailer
to connect each piece together.
Now when you add the brad nails,
make sure to add them closer to the center
so that they're not popping out on the outside
and you're gonna build up your piece
to create these very sculptural diamond shapes
and wire up the light based off your instructions.
Now I used Minwax's oil-based stain in the honey finish,
which I thought was perfect for the look
that I was going for.
I just did two coats of this on the entire lamp
and used a paper towel just to wipe off any excess.
I also used their polyacrylic in a satin finish
and that's how I finished off this lamp.
I am so in love with it and it cost me under $80 to create
and I'm definitely gonna be making another.
