Today I visit WILLIS TOWER in CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. The high-rise is the third tallest building in the United States and the 23rd largest in the whole world. Not only that, but it is home of the SKYDECK, a tourist attraction where individuals have the chance to step on THE 'LEDGE'. The Ledge transforms how visitors experience Chicago. At 1,353 feet up, The Ledge’s glass boxes extend out 4.3 feet from the skyscraper’s Skydeck on the 103rd floor, providing never-before-seen views of the city. Hope you enjoy! Hey there everyone my name is Eduardo Arroyo but you can call me Ed and today I'm here visiting
the Sky Deck at the Willis Tower here in Chicago, Illinois. Yes you heard that right you guys today
I want to take us on a little excursion of sorts to the Sky Deck at Willis Tower. More specifically
I want to visit the ledge that sits at the 103rd floor of the building. The ledge or ledges are
those four things protruding out of the building and I think you can actually see people right
there which is pretty funny but yes we're pretty far down as you can see I'm zooming down and yeah
it's one of the tallest buildings for a reason and we're all the way at the bottom. The goal of
today is to take in the views of the city skyline and the surrounding area so if that interests you
come with me. This is actually one of the tallest buildings in the whole world and the third tallest
in North America at 110 stories high which is mind-blowing. So as you can probably tell coming
here to check out the city skyline and other views is a no-brainer. I think I got a good angle right
now but those four things that you see on the side of the building those are what they call
ledges. So those four little sections of the building is where people can stand on and they
can sit down or they can do whatever they want to take pictures or a video of the city skyline
and the surrounding area which is pretty cool and that's exactly what we're gonna check out today.
This area behind me this is where you get your tickets if you were to get it like the same day
but I strongly recommend against this you can easily get your tickets online which is what I
did. You get two options right the general entry and also the expedited tickets which is what I did
in order to skip the line. There's also like limits on like the time of day and also how many spots in
specific section so just so you know. Okay so this place is a little bit darker than I thought
but as soon as you go past security you can see a little bit about the history of Chicago. For
example this section right here these are sort of like murals but also like displays I guess I don't
know how you would call them but this one right here tells you the story of the meaning behind
the stars in the Chicago flag the city of Chicago flag. I actually never knew about this so this is
pretty cool. So here you get a little bit about the history of Chicago's architecture which is
like a really big part of the city it's what makes the city so interesting and popular
so you can learn more about its architecture. These displays right here talk more about the
Chicago popular landmarks and attractions. I haven't actually visited most of this
but I have visited this one we've made a video about this yesterday I don't know when it will
come up but hopefully you guys like it I'll link it in the description down below. We're getting
here to a section that talks about the Willis Tower so a building that we are in and it has a
lot of like really cool facts on the displays let me show you. So here it tells us that lightning
strikes the Willis Tower from 50 to 100 times per year but it's good to know that it is safely
grounded every single time. Another display is this replica of Willis Tower right here and behind
it we have more like fun fact statistics about this building. Some of the funniest ones or
interesting ones are that this building is 223 Michael Jordan's high. Next is a section that
talks about food and food in Chicago so this is around my alley of course the center of it all
is the deep dish pizza and over here we have the Chicago style hot dogs which I've tried and I
actually enjoy them so strongly recommend if you haven't tried any of these two. Check it out you
guys this is a huge hot dog right here and that over there is a deep dish pizza sitting area check
it out you guys we're sitting on a pizza it's kind of funny because you have like a lot of people
waiting for you but uh good opportunity. This area is all about the music, music styles, the different
sounds of Chicago and this right here is the Pritzker Pavilion which we also visited yesterday
a section of Chicago legends check it out the Obamas they both called Chicago home. Of course
Michael Jordan wow I feel so ignorant I just learned about this today a section right here
for Chicago landmarks the Chicago sign right there you can get a cool picture with your
friends family but check it out Chicago over here is the stadium so if you don't get to go to a lot
of these places you can come here and take fake I was there pictures for example this one over here
this is the bean we were there yesterday but you can come here and pretend it's like the perfect
day perfect sunny day and take a picture very instagrammable very good for pictures so come
take a look but I think we're getting closer to what we came here for which is the sky deck so
this talks about the ledge this is what I mentioned at the very beginning this is actually the last
little attraction that we're going to do in this visit and check it out the bottom section here
this is the only thing that holds you from falling a thousand three hundred fifty three feet in the
air so we just made it to the 103rd floor of the Willis tower this is where the ledge is located
but you get like a the view of the city from like multiple windows that are like throughout the
the floor right so you don't necessarily have to go into the ledge to get some amazing views
you can actually just stand next to one of these huge windows on the side of the floor and check
out the views but what we're here for is the ledge so let me try and find this puppy boom that's gonna
be me in just one second it's right here the thickness of the glass is just 1.5 inches so
there's literally just 1.5 inches between you and the city definitely not for the faint of heart
but something truly amazing you can do here and like I said at the beginning I took the
expedited ticket which is like 20 25 dollars more but you do get to skip this huge line over here
like there's a separate line for the people with expedited tickets it's almost my turn there's a
ledge so close yet so far whoa check it out you guys we made it to the ledge finally and I'm
literally walking on the 1.5 inches thick glass which is crazy whoa it's very trippy and you also
get side views and you can get a good point of view of a wide area of the city which is pretty
cool check that out that is insane I think for the rest of my time here you only get like one minute
I'm just gonna walk and look straight down whoa check that out pretty cool
it's not as bad as I thought actually for right now I just want to go around and check the multiple
views that you get on the side of the windows and just like that you guys we made it to the end of
the video I really enjoyed the experience it was not just about the ledge and the views up there
but it was also about learning more about the history about the people about the culture of
this city which I thoroughly enjoyed and 100% will recommend if you guys enjoyed the video I'm
