PRACTICE POTTERY THROWING WITH ME Relaxing Video trixceramics pottery londonartist

Hey guys this is Trixx and welcome back to my channel. So for today's video it's going to be a clay video. I have decided to film this as we have our new pottery wheel which is the Shimpo Arcade 55 that I got from Scarpa Pottery Supplies. So first I'm just preparing the clay that we are going to use. I'm using PF700 that I have been using quite a lot. And here we are we are trying it for the first time. Good luck Trixx. Just to let you guys know I'm not a professional potter nor very experienced in throwing. But I said to myself I'm gonna get a pottery wheel because I want to improve my skills and I want to practice more on throwing. So as you guys can see I'm throwing. It's just me. I don't think I'm doing the right thing but I hope you still enjoy it. This video I have filmed it about three weeks ago so I have been practicing quite a lot almost every day. I have been watching videos as well how to throw and I have learned a lot from YouTube, Instagram, anywhere. What I have noticed about this is that I am turning the wheel really really fast which I shouldn't. So what I have learned was the higher you're pulling your clay up the slower your wheel should be I guess. Which I hope it's the right thing because when I have been doing it or practicing it with that sort of technique it actually worked. I have finally made something which I was very very happy. Just to let you also guys know that the wheel has two different turning settings which is clockwise and counterclockwise. So if you're left-handed or right-handed this wheel is So I'm gonna let you listen to the sound or the noise that the wheel creates while you're using it. It's actually not bad it's still quite relaxing sort of sound. So this is what clockwise turning sounds like and this is counterclockwise. So now I changed my clay to just a normal buff clay which I've caught from my university before the lockdown and it's actually a very different feeling. I'm very looking forward for the things that I'm going to create and what else I could learn more and throwing and to improve my skills as well which is very exciting.
