Good afternoon YouTube family!!!! In today’s video… it’s another home hack video. I am constantly jotting down different ideas in my home on products I’ve found that make my life easier and or things that help me go about my day in a seamless way. Today’s hacks are completely random… but I hope you enjoy!!!
Hi guys and welcome back to my channel.
If you are new, welcome.
My name is Hannah.
And in today's video, we are doing another home hack video.
So if this is something you're interested in watching,
just keep on watching.
But if you haven't yet already,
please be sure to like, comment, and subscribe.
You know to hit that bell button
for every time I upload a video.
And if you're not already following me on Instagram,
I would love to have you over at Hannah Naylor.
Without further ado, let's get into this video.
So first big announcement before getting into this video
is I have decided to eliminate Mom With Muscle
from my channel.
I did take a poll a few weeks ago
on whether you guys think I should keep the name or not.
I started my channel about three years ago
and back then, the name Mom With Muscle
definitely pertained to the content that I was creating.
Fast forward to today and now it's not very relevant
to what I am doing on my channel
and my niche has completely changed.
So I feel that it is time to eliminate the Mom With Muscle
so that way it makes a little bit more sense
here on my channel.
So now I am just Hannah Naylor
and I'm really excited to kind of start this new chapter
and hopefully many things will happen with that.
But I just wanna thank all of you guys
who have stuck with me from the beginning until now.
But I have created so many of these home hack videos.
I'm constantly jotting down things in my phone
that I do in my house or things that I come across
that are little hacks
that we all can take something away from.
So I have composed a very short list.
These items are completely random.
There are no rhyme or reason of why they're in this video.
They are totally random,
but I am really excited to share
another home hack video with you.
Be sure to give this video a huge thumbs up
if you enjoy them.
Otherwise, leave me your hacks down below.
Maybe I will create a video
on all of your guys' suggestions.
Without further ado, let's get into this video.
First hack on this list.
You are going to need a squirt bottle
and yellow and green food coloring.
Now, I have many pots in my home
that have moss on the top of them.
For example, you guys will see in my B-roll
that I have an orchid in my bedroom
and the moss tends to get discolored.
So what you're going to do
is you're going to take a squirt bottle
and you're going to do green and yellow food coloring.
You're going to do two times more yellow than you are green.
Add just a little bit of water
and then give your moss just a good old spritz
with this now green food coloring on top of your moss
and it's going to just keep your moss
looking nice and fresh and green.
So if you have moss that's maybe discoloring,
maybe it's getting a little bit more brown,
use the food coloring hack
to just give it a good old fresh color.
So that's the first hack on my list.
The next hack, you're going to need a toothbrush holder.
Now, this has quickly become a very important hack
here in my home just because I have a ton of stems
and I have a lot of vases and pots here in my home.
All you're going to do is just stick your stems
within these little dividers in a toothbrush holder.
I picked mine up from Target.
You can also go to the dollar store
and pick one up very cheap.
And this is quickly going to become your best friend
because it's going to keep all of your stems contained.
You just arrange your arrangement
essentially in this little toothbrush holder
and then stick it in your pot or vase
and there you have it,
a very contained and beautiful arrangement
that's going to stay balanced
with this little toothbrush holder.
So that is the next little hack on my list.
So the next hack I don't have a B roll for,
but coasters and how you can make your own coasters
using very simple items.
So my first example is these are actually
the lids from the Bath & Body Works candles.
So you can see that it's got
the little rubber ring there on the inside.
So these are actually the lids
that go on Bath & Body Works candles.
I've used these for many years as coasters
because it is actually a faux marble top there.
So super simple, you're getting the candle
and you're getting a beautiful lid that acts as a coaster.
But you can also head to a tile store
and pick up some tile samples.
And that is going to be such a simple way
to create different coasters.
You can get squared ones, round ones.
Again, just go to a simple tile store,
even Home Depot and grab a sample.
And there you have it,
some really fun and easy DIY coasters.
Or if you are a Bath & Body Works candle person,
I'm not so much anymore.
Like I said, I have had these for years.
But I just took these off the tops of my candles
and now they have become a very go-to coaster
here in my home.
So that is the next hack on my list.
In my last hack video,
I went over different folding techniques
when I used to work for Lululemon.
And I forgot to one, show you guys how to fold a sweatshirt.
I showed you how to hang a sweatshirt,
but I didn't technically get to show you
how to fold a sweatshirt.
So in my B-roll, you guys will see me folding a sweatshirt.
And then the other B-roll I'm going to show you
is how I fold my tank tops.
These are tank tops that I use at the gym,
but you can also apply this
to just normal everyday wearing tank tops.
When I worked for Lululemon,
I became very educated in best practices
for folding clothing.
And so I have not only implemented those
when I used to work for the company,
but I have now had it transition into my everyday life
and how I fold and hang my clothing.
So I thought this is a really important hack for you guys.
If you are one that wears a lot of tank tops,
if you have a lot of sweatshirts that don't hang them,
this is going to be the perfect fold for you
that's going to lay nice and flat
if you store them within a cabinet.
For the folding of the tank tops,
I store mine in a dresser.
So I just have them rolled up and nice and neat
for me to see what colors I have and whatnot.
So that is the next little hack on this.
All right, the next item is frozen food bags.
Now, I think a lot of people make the mistake
of when you have a frozen food bag,
you just go straight across the top and cut it.
And that is the worst thing you can do
because then you're having to roll it
and you have all these like half open bags,
stuff's possibly coming out of them.
So a simple thing to eliminate that problem
is instead of cutting it halfway across the top,
you're going to create a V shape.
The point of this is that it's going to allow
for two different holds to then tie it in the center.
This has been a game changer
because not always do I use clips in my freezer.
So this is my best practice
for storing frozen bags that are half open.
Again, instead of cutting halfway across the top,
you're just going to create a V when you cut down
and give it a good old tie.
So that's the next hack on this list.
We all have had that issue where our shoes are wet
and so we pop them in the dryer
and then all you're hearing is just like,
for a few hours, it's annoying.
Did you know you're doing it wrong?
So instead of throwing your actual shoe in the dryer,
you're going to actually hang the laces over the door
and close the door on the laces, tie them at the top.
And then that way, when the dryer is on,
they're getting the heat,
but they're actually not going around in the cycle.
Game changing for those of you
who know exactly what I'm talking about.
That is super annoying sound
when you have your shoes in the dryer.
If you're trying to get them all dry,
you've been doing it wrong this entire time.
All you're going to do again
is just throw them over the lid,
close the laces on themselves, turn on the dryer,
and there you have it in a very quiet cycle
for drying your shoes.
Have you ever bought an item like a picture frame
and there is a price sticker,
price tag right on the front of that glass?
I know I'm not the only one
and I cringe every time I go to HomeGoods or TJ Maxx
to buy an item and that is where they stick the sticker.
I'd like to talk to the manager about that
because I don't see why that is necessary.
You could easily put it on the back,
but that's besides the point.
I'm going to show you guys
how you can remove those stickers
in a very clean and simple way.
All you're going to do is take a blow dryer
and the sticker itself.
Give that sticker a good blow dry
until you can heat up the adhesive
that the sticker has on it.
And you should be able to pull that sticker right off
with a clean and no residue application.
Now, another way that you can do it,
which I don't show in my B-rolls
is you can actually soak the sticker with Windex.
So you'll just spray the Windex on the sticker,
let it soak for a few minutes
and then it should be able to come off really easily as well
or you also have Goo Gone as well.
But the blow dry was a recent kind of hack
that I came across
when it comes to removing those pesky stickers.
So yeah, that is the next item on this list.
The last and final hack is this new product
that I recently just came across on Amazon.
And I have to say, this is a game changer.
This is going to be a game changer
for anybody that has ugly outlets,
that has maybe a lamp that is plugged in behind a sideboard
and you can't push it up against the wall
or you have a lamp that is on a dresser
and again, you can't push it all the way up against the wall.
This item is called
the Sleek Socket Ultra Thin Outlet Concealer.
So it is priced at 23.95.
I got a three foot, but it also comes in a eight foot
as well and a dual side.
There's actually a bunch of different options
from a TV mount single, a TV mount dual.
So there's a bunch of different options
ranging in different prices on Amazon.
But essentially what this thing is, is it's a concealer.
I have the example in my bar pass through.
My coffee maker, my Keurig has this super bulbous plug
that just sticks out, it protrudes out
and it's so annoying because where I want my coffee maker
is not where the outlet is.
So we got this concealer to then be able to run the cord
so that way I can have my coffee maker pushed in the corner
and it looks so much better.
One, the cord on the coffee maker is black.
This is now in white.
So it just kind of cleans everything up
and makes it look a lot better.
But this is going to be super beneficial
for someone that maybe has a lamp, maybe a diffuser,
something that you have to plug into the wall
against maybe a dresser or a sideboard.
You can't push the dresser all the way against the wall
because then you have the plugs that are sticking out
that kind of eliminate you being able to do that.
So this is going to take care of that issue.
It comes with stickers
so that way you can run the cord downwards
and maybe along your baseboards
for a really clean application.
But this has been a huge game changer
and a really great find on Amazon.
So I will have that link down below.
But yeah, that is it.
And that's the last hack on this.
All right, you guys, and that is it for today's video.
I hope you guys enjoyed, I think part four of my home hack.
Sound off in the comments
if any of these that you have heard today are new to you.
I would love to hear your guys' feedback.
But other than that, I love you so much.
Thank you for being here
and we'll see you guys in my next video.
Peace.
