Yo, we're back for 2019. It's going to be another massive year.
We're up at Double Island Point for Australia Day.
How good is this? Welcome back everyone.
We're up here at the beautiful Double Island Point for Australia Day.
Brought along some good friends, family and about 2,000 other people.
Now, of course, we've got the usuals.
Berkey's back. Simon from Custom Off Road.
Lane's still holidaying overseas.
So I've brought the truck about for some comfort.
The boys from Your Mate's will be pouring us beer all weekend.
And Swifty from ARB's tagging along.
This is one of my all time favourite camping destinations.
I can't wait to show it off.
One last ticket before it's gone.
So we've got up here nice and early Thursday, Arbo.
We're just going to set up a few gazebos, sort of spread ourselves around a bit.
We've got a heap of other boats coming up this afternoon.
All those reasons.
Tune your strings and play.
Armand milk. Organic and certified.
Rage comes on one trip, and you've got green wraps.
And it's healthy.
What are you doing to him, Rage?
All right, what's going on here, mate?
Dude, we lashed out season two.
The explore plates are out.
Explore plates look sick.
Let's get this bad boy straight on.
How good is today looking, mate?
What's on the agenda?
Mate, unreal.
I reckon we'll run up to the lighthouse first thing.
Before it gets too hot, we'll do the walk and then run down Rainbow Beach,
go and have a cold beer at the pub, and then we'll come back via the inland track
and set up for the afternoon.
All right, sounds like a plan. Let's get into it.
Let's do it.
How good is this?
We've made it to the top of Double Island Lighthouse.
This is a short walk from the car park down at the beach.
It's well worth the walk.
You've got a cracking view all the way down Rainbow Beach,
and then you can see all the way down Double Island.
Make sure you get up here, come and check it out.
There's a bit of history here.
The lighthouse was built back in 1884
and has been continuously running ever since.
With a beautiful day like today, we've seen a couple of turtles
swimming in the water.
If you're lucky, you might get the odd dolphin or whale.
They catch fish.
They definitely do it better than we do.
We had a quick chat to them.
They got a fish and chip shop up at Brivey, special permits for netting.
But this is why we get to enjoy the fish and chips at the shop.
We've just taken the turn off to Freshwater,
so Berky can give the dad bod a wash.
If you are camping up here, you've got freshwater showers, toilet facilities
and bring all your rubbish up to dump up here.
There is a lake just a little bit further up, so we're going to check that out,
followed by a beautiful little drive over to the Rainbow side.
So let's go and see how we go.
Right, I've just put up a deck at Rainbow Beach and I'm quite, absolutely starving.
Ready, boys? Let's do it.
Got a little problem.
We might have had one or two many a couple of beers last night and we've run out.
Can we borrow a keg off you?
Borrow? Borrow a keg of Larry?
Borrow, we'll bring one back.
We never run out of beer out of that deck, so yeah, let's go.
You want a cold one?
Grab, love a cold Larry.
All right, let's go.
Thanks, mate.
First scooters on you, if you can lift that into the truck.
Just stocking up, a bit of ice for the Esky.
Going to head back to the cave.
All right, well, what a day we've managed to do the lighthouse.
Rainforest drive, cold beer at the deck.
Now we're sitting up on the sand dunes, having a freshly poured Your Mate's beer.
It doesn't get any better except for tomorrow.
Australia Day over at the Calmside.
I can't wait.
Happy Australia Day, Simon.
Woo, I'm excited.
All right, here we go, bud. Aussie day.
Today is the day.
We'll head over to the Calmside, get a little set up going.
Meet everybody.
Yeah, say g'day to a few people.
Your Mate's will be pouring beer all day.
My Mate's or Your Mate's?
Your Mate's.
Oh, there you are.
All right, well, how good's this?
We're down here at Double Island.
We got good friends, family, cold beer.
Everyone's down here having a good time.
Stay tuned and we'll show you just how good Australia Day at Double Island Point is.
We're buying a raffle ticket going to a great course called Diabetes.
So it's a four by four.
What do I have to do to get a beer round here, boys?
Oh, I think we can make that happen, brother.
Yeah, let's make it happen.
Is that for a Macca?
That'll do me.
That's the only thing we've got?
That's it.
Firstly, massive thank you to everyone that's bought a raffle ticket today.
We raised nearly a thousand bucks for Diabetes Queensland, which is a pretty good effort
in itself.
Now, secondly, to a few of my sponsors that have supported us, which means you guys get
some cool prizes.
All right, so I'm not going to muck around.
Bergie's going to draw all the raffle tickets out.
All right, well, basically, that's it for me.
Thanks, everyone, for coming out.
If you haven't seen our new series, jump online.
Thanks, Legends.
You heard of the shoey?
Yeah.
Have you heard of the gooey?
I haven't heard of the gooey.
The gooey's because it's a good run.
Get a round up.
Take an ace on.
Yeah!
All right, hip, hip.
Go on, mate.
We liked your kooby bloody hattie, but we're going to show you the Explore game.
It's called Air Ladder.
Bergie, you can do the honours, mate.
This happened after a few too many beers at Fraser Island.
Originally, Air Ladder, it's said, is from the Roman Greek times.
They read it on the rocks.
Is that racing?
So basically, the rule is, just get to the top, mate.
The old chassis?
You can get to the top of that, you reckon?
Yeah.
Go, Bergie!
Go!
Woo!
Yeah!
Welcome to Air Ladder!
You got this, bro.
You got this.
The little fella said, you need to swing it around a few more times and bring it straight back.
You reckon?
To a hole that goes forever
I wrote this song for all my no-good friends
who's just getting by
just like me.
Leaving the bar
my breath's as hard
as regular gasoline
Alright, well, that was Aussie day.
I dare say there's a couple of sore heads this morning.
Might grab a bottle of water, a quick swim in the ocean
and get a bit of brekkie on the go, I think.
I'm running on fuel
It's all I can do
To get up
and make it through
Coffee in the morning
Whiskey in the evening
There he is, you off, mate?
Oh, yeah.
Alright, thanks for an absolute pearler.
Yeah, cheers for the times, eh?
We'll have to have you on the next one, for sure.
Yeah, cheers.
Alright, boys, safe travels, eh?
Thanks, mate.
See you, buddy. Have a good one.
Alright, boys, well, that was Aussie day up at DI.
Now the fun's not over.
I'm going to take you to a sneaky little water hole
on the way home
and a bit of a run through the bush.
Mate, the weather has turned it on.
Pretty keen to check out this bush track.
What's it about?
Mate, it's just a little run through Kooloola Way.
Before we do that, there's a sneaky little swimming hole
and I can tell you what, I'm pretty keen to get in it.
Mate, dying for a swim.
How you doing, Bergie?
Not bad.
Not everyone can play air ladder and walk away.
We got him.
Jesus Christ.
Well, there we go.
We've just had a quick dip at Ceres Freshwater Creek.
We're straight back onto Rainbow Beach Road.
We're going to head a couple more k's south.
We take a turn off into the National Park
and we're going to make our way down to Harry's Hut.
Here we go.
Hey.
How you doing, mate?
Welcome, buddy.
Gee, what a drive.
Guess where we are?
Harry's Spring Hut by the looks of it.
Harry's Hut.
Good bike?
Oh, mate, top bike.
You reckon he's owning that?
Mate, when he built that, it was the biggest hut around here.
Really?
It still is.
Resort size?
The only one.
Safe he's own, eh?
Let's do it.
Harry!
All right, well, what an epic weekend.
Big shout out to everyone that come down and said g'day to Australia Day.
We've had an absolute ball going from the beach.
Now we're in the bush.
It's time for a swim.
So until next time, get out and enjoy the explore.
