The Junker 52 (JU - 52) was used as a transport and passenger aircraft during WW2. In the last 40 years it was a popular aircraft for airshows and demonstration flights.
Unfortunately, in Switzerland, after a tragic crash with many deaths (August 3, 2018), the license of the aircraft was revoked. At the moment you can see the plane only on the ground in the museum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Die Junker 52 (JU - 52) wurde im 2. Hello friends, my name is Werner Stolz from Switzerland.
I am a travel organizer and also an enthusiastic passenger in small airplanes.
Today I'm taking you on one of my past flying experiences.
By chance I got the opportunity to make a sightseeing flight in the probably most famous
oldtimer airplane.
We start at the Bierfeld airfield where an airshow is taking place.
The Junkers Ju-52 is a three-engine commercial and transport aircraft built by the German
manufacturer Junkers Flugzeugwerke AG in Dessau.
The aircraft known today as the Ju-52 is the three-engine Junkers Ju-52 thirds of a meter
version from 1932.
The Junkers Ju-52 was originally planned as a single-engine cargo plane, if possible equipped
with a diesel engine, to carry large amounts of cargo in areas with poor infrastructure.
Great importance was attached to low maintenance requirements.
The development of the Ju-52 was influenced by the Reichswehr Ministry, RWM, so that military
concerns were taken into account in the design.
This aircraft flies extremely slowly despite its weight, an advantage for the passengers
who can enjoy the view better.
We fly from Bierfeld airfield in the direction of the city of Zug, then turn around and fly
past Lake Zürich back to the airfield.
After about 30 minutes of flight time, the approach to Bierfeld airfield begins.
A unique flight experience in an era of jet aircraft.
Memories of the pioneer days of aviation.
