Acrylic Pour Painting- Floating Flowers - Blown Puddle Technique.
Hi everybody, I'm returning to my flower series today. I love doing flowers. They've been really popular
I'm going to do a puddle pour with blown flowers
A lot of people have loved seeing that and love doing it themselves
And I want to give a special shout out to Jill Banks
Who is a member of my Facebook group called paint pouring people she did something that inspired me to do this
Video today to demonstrate this flower today, so I wanted to give a shout out to Jill
And if you have not joined my Facebook group paint pouring people, please do so it's a lot of fun
And you can see what everybody's doing. Everybody posts pictures of their paintings, and it's really a great. It's really a great group
so thanks to Jill for
Furthering this idea of the flower pour and I'm going to do right now a puddle pour on a 12 by 12 canvas
And they're going to be blown flowers, so here we go. I'm starting with the black background
I'm going to spread it around I
Want enough to get coverage, but I don't want it to be
too deep
I'm going to put some gold
small amount
Smear that around
Looks good
Okay, here goes the puddles
For flowers, I'm going to start them all with white
as the first puddle
These are random spots that I'm using for flowers
They're going to be everywhere
You've been in the corner running off the edge. That's always good
If you start off with white it helps keep it separate from the background
Now I have some bright colors for flowers
Do a series?
few different colors
Here's my favorite bright pink. I'm going to do let's see I'll do this one
Don't need a lot of paint. It's easy to overpour
Some purple
Here
Add some blue to that
Mixing up the ideas here
See
Here no rules
Do not have this planned out. I'm just going for it
One more spot a spot of blue in this yellow one
That'll be it now. I'm going to take my
Drinking straw and blow on them
So I just blew in the center to start with and I'm gonna look and I'm gonna
Make some of them go out a little further because they're a little bit too round
some of them don't need much, but I do like to push them out a little just to get
Eliminate some of that roundness and it has sort of a petal look
But I don't want to ruin what I've done here either
Or it's not not ruined I don't want to alter what I've done
So I'm going easy on some of these
This is cool. I'm gonna leave that one right like it is
Now I'm gonna see
Help this one out a little
Okay
Some of these look really great on their own. They don't need the centers
They have their own centers that were created when I did the original blowing of them out this one
I'm gonna give it a center of some purple
Just a few dots
This is my trusty candy Apple stick that I use for this type of work
These little details it is in my on my Amazon shopping list
I use the heck out of these little sticks if you need supplies check out my link below for my Amazon shopping list
And this flower I'm gonna go
Different and put some pink in the middle
There's no rule so I'm trying to find fun
Accenting colors for the center of these flowers and also I'm not gonna put any leaves or stems
These are what I call floating flowers
and
They're just evenly spaced out. It's more like a design than it is an actual flower portrait. You can hang it in any direction
You can do any size canvas
You can do you can vary the sizes of the flowers within your
within your piece
So there they are they're
flowing floating flying no rules flowers I
Really like this against the dark background and this little gold running through the background is really gives it some depth
Okay, I'm I'm looking at my piece here
And I'm noticing that a lot of them are about the same size, and I always like to vary the sizes of these
There's a couple here that are smaller which are good
These two are on the small side
But I'm gonna take this one here, and I want to make it bigger just for some variation you always want to
Shoot for some sort of variation
Makes things more interesting and since I lost
Some of the blue I can dot some of it back in here
This will make this flower
different than the others
But it is now bigger
And there's my flowers
Okay, I'm gonna call that good. I've got this one bigger. I've got variations of sizes
I've got lots of different colors, but yet they all go together
And remember you can do this any size
Any color combination there's no rules on this one it can go on and on forever
Hang it in any direction
So I hope you enjoyed this video
