So for pretty much the NBA's entirety, the belief was if you wanted to be successful and you wanted
to be a championship team, you needed to have a post presence. A big man who you could give the
ball to on the low block and they could consistently give you buckets, get to the free throw line, be
physical with the other bigs, and it just seemed like that was the way to go. And outside of Michael
Jordan's bowls of the 90s, you can't find too many instances of championship teams without
post presences. I mean, hell, even MJ could post up. I mean, he was a shooting guard so it was only
so much, but it was still kind of there. But then recently, with the success of the Golden State
Warriors, the NBA is now thinking three-pointers are the way to go. Hoist them up and we got all
these analytics and everything. Of course, copying Golden State is a hell of a task since they have a
three-point theory to the test. And I decided to put together probably the best three-point
shooting team that you can make in 2K. Our point guard is, of course, Steph Curry and we're going
to have Klay Thompson as well, so the Splash Bros are still here. Larry Bird is going to be at the
three because he's Larry Bird. Dirk the Jerk Nowitzki at the four. And then Bill Lambeer at
center because there's not too many centers who can actually hit threes. Off the bench, Ray Allen
is getting a chance to run around screens. And then we have Ashton Kutcher or Kyle Corver,
depending on who you are, as well as Sam Perkins. But we have to really commit to this. I want us
to only be shooting threes. So I'm going to go into our tendencies and we're going to turn down
all the inside shots, the close shots, the mid-range. I want to see if we can really be
successful just hitting threes. Not only that, we have Steve Nash, by the way. We're going into the
individual player tendencies and I would say 95% of the shots we're going to be taking are going
to be three-point shots. Perhaps we're going to break 2K by doing this. I don't know. We're going
to see. And so if we take a look at our rotation, try to be balanced throughout. You know, I don't
want anybody getting too mad, even though team chemistry is off, but don't worry about it.
And so, just for confirmation, the simulation difficulty is at 50. So let's see what happens.
If we're too physical of a team, are we just going to lose games and Twitter's going to call us soft?
Or actually, we're like 10-0 to start the season. Okay, this is actually a little ridiculous.
20-0? Okay, you know every single NBA legend in the history of ever is saying that we're the
worst team in existence. I mean, the simulator difficulty is still at 50. Have we even taken
one shot inside the paint this season? I don't know. Based on our tendencies, we definitely
haven't. Look at this. Are we going to lose a game? Like, this is actually pretty insane. We're
just taking three-point shots, nothing else. We are 42-0. Let's look at it one more time. Make
sure y'all, I'm not BSing this. This is actually simulator difficulty. The pro difficulty doesn't
make a difference when you're just simulating. We're not playing any games. We just beat OKC.
And look at these points we're putting up. We're consistently over 100 points with this team.
It's actually pretty insane. So, um, now we're 70-0. 72? Could we actually go undefeated in the
regular season? I've seen people put Michael Jordan and like Shaquille O'Neal on the same
team and they couldn't go 82-0. You're telling me all you have to do is put your three-point
tendency at 100? I mean, hey, it's legit according to 2K. Can we beat the Spurs? That seems to be
the team that always spoils these. My goodness, we actually went 82-0 on the season. That's
insane. Did I just break 2K without even trying? I mean, our scoring was pretty balanced throughout.
And, um, if you see the three-point attempts compared to the field goal attempts, they're
pretty close. I mean, besides Larry Bird, everybody else is almost at a one-to-one ratio when it comes
to that. And our three-point percentages, I mean, just as good as you would expect them to be. And
so in the postseason, I said, let's just simulate this whole damn thing. Can we actually have a
completely undefeated season? We did. My God. So the moral of the story, if we're going to listen
to 2K, of course, is forget all that going inside mess. Just shoot nothing but three-pointers. Now,
of course, you have to still have some decent talent. I mean, there's Larry Bird and Steph
Curry and Klay Thompson and guys like that on this team. But my goodness, you know, if we fast
forward 20 years, is this what the NBA is going to be? Nothing but three-pointers? I don't know.
