Botswana: Elephants and Speeding Tickets!

Hey everybody, I'm in Botswana. I am headed to the Okavango Delta and I am on highway A3, I think that's where I am. And it is really slow going. There are goats and cows and trucks and all kinds of things all around. And it is very hot here. It's about 95 degrees Fahrenheit. So I've got my hydration kit all on. But this is sort of slow going because the road isn't very good. It's really hot. There's a lot of potholes and places that are washed out. And cars are driving crazy so I have to be sort of careful. But so far I am loving Botswana. It's just really really beautiful and I can't wait to get up to the Delta and see some of the wetlands and hopefully some elephants in the wild. I haven't seen wild elephants yet. But right now it's just a bunch of goats, cows and obstacles on the road. I will try not to die and I will keep you posted. But wow, it is hot and beautiful here in Botswana. These guys just gave me a speeding ticket. There's the lesson kids. Don't speed. No speeding. Right? Don't speed kids. What are you saying? I'll probably do it again. It is almost, well it's about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, something like that. But behind me there is a huge storm coming. It's been raining and I've just sort of been dodging it. And so I'm pulling over to the side of the road here to try to get some, get all my rain gear on and make sure I don't get drenched. But man, what an amazing drive. I saw some signs that said beware of elephants crossing the road. But just signs, no elephants. Right behind me I've seen my first elephants in the wild. Wild elephants. Now, it's not really smart to hang out with wild elephants because if they charge, I'm dead. So I'm not going to get off the bike or set up the camera or anything because this is sort of dangerous what I'm doing right now. And it's about to storm. Getting another speeding ticket.
